    I’ve never been able to meditate-always start getting overwhelmed by the intense unsafeness held in my body-brain starts doing anything to escape. This video calmed that reaction, and I was actually able to feel connected and secure and like I was doing something to HELP myself, instead of making myself feel even more sick and crazy and inauthentic. Thank you so much.

      I thought I was the only one. I was crying through the whole thing, but especially when she said that it was okay now and I was safe. About midway I finally calmed down.

    i have been told so much to do meditation so ive tried like the apps n i didnt get it. im just sitting there with my eyes closed and id end early bc i never felt safe. i felt rlly vulnerable even if i was alone and got way way more anxious when they tell u to focus on ur breathing haha so i avoided it until now. I definitely needed this meditation specifically for complex ptsd. I will say it was very hard at first because i kept tearing up and choking up when you said like "you are safe now" or i can make my own decisions. all those kinds of words you said. i never heard them or i guess never rlly felt it and it was scary to close my eyes and trust but i did because i felt u rlly understand how to deal with someone with CPTSD because u kept repeating it..u know our minds wander, etc. anyways, thank you for this and i will keep trying. my back hurt so much lol not used to sitting up straight haha. thank you.

      I'm so happy to hear this is helpful. In my work in private sessions with beautiful souls who have experienced trauma: I often focus on providing people an understanding of, for instance, where/how shame originates and creates a cycle of guilt/inner critic within us that puts us on "high alert" for much of our life---that is, until we understand the process and can, then, finally unburden ourselves! I'm seeing great and quick results in my sessions that focus on trauma/Complex PTSD. To all here: If you are inspired to book private sessions, feel free reach out to me at info@hubfortheheart.com or visit my site at www.hubfortheheart.com.

    I have C-PTSD and if you also struggle with this I highly, highly recommended the book: Surviving to Thriving C-PTSD by Pete Walker. It’s really been a huge help in educating myself around what I’m dealing with and see aspects I need to constantly work on to be able to function and manage this mental illness. It’s still so hard for me to remind myself but also get my body to believe that - I’m safe now.
    Thank you for this seriously, I feel like PTSD but also C-PTSD specifically is not talked about enough there’s not as much out there that I’ve found to actually be helpful when it comes to this and being able to calm down.
    ✨This helped🖤✨

    I started crying when the meditation went into the heart and what you said about the doors to the heart being closed. I have been doing meditations for years and always have issues when they want you to breathe from the heart.

    • @HubfortheHeart
      @HubfortheHeart  7 років тому +5

      I appreciate your feedback. Within so many healing paths, the personal experience of faith becomes important, a vital component to healing. For those of us with CPTSD, for those of us whose self identity was not nurtured and formed, this path of faith is a bit trickier, as we want to check in with our *authenticity* to ensure we are not zoning out/disssociating. We are now owning our authentic self, an identity that was stolen earlier. I try to provide videos that encourage our authenticity, nurture self identity and, also, enhance the very personal experience of faith.

    im trying hard to heal but im also currently living with my abuser and have no way out for at least four more months. i have no one to stay with or anywhere to go. how could my therapists be upset with me for not 'putting enough effort in' because im making no progress, while im still being traumatized daily? how am i supposed to heal when i cant escape it

    I don't know what some of the things you said mean. Like opening the heart and giving it a place on the pelvic floor. I want to understand and get benefit. What does the atuning of the heart mean ?

    • @HubfortheHeart
      @HubfortheHeart  6 років тому +11

      Thank you for being in touch, Candace. I love your question. The heart I refer to is our emotional energetic centre, not the physical heart as you may have guessed. Generally, I have found that those of us who have experienced Complex PTSD are very empathetic and emotional intelligent people! I know in my personal path, I have been overly empathetic! Part of my personal learning was to discover that my empathy was not always well placed with certain individuals. Goodness! That was a difficult learning for me!
      So, for the heart: When we feel a wamth or love or goodness, this is a very high energy that helps us to integrate past pains. Love, from the heart. However, we don't want our heart/love/empathy to be out of balance! That's where the pelvic floor/legs come into play: When we lightly draw in at the pelvic floor (rather like we're holding our pee!) and when we feel this drawing in quality, it can help ground us, connect us to earth, bring us into the here and now.
      So, I'm an advocate of being warm and loving---without being a doormat for our world! That's where the drawing in to the pelvic floor and, also, breathing into belly can help! We will *not* be a victim to energies in our world! We will keep our heart open and loving and warm.....and, at the same time, we will be discerning in how we express love and to whom we offer empathy and connection.
      Make sense?

      I've been trying to open up this knot in my imagination and creativity - I am a songwriter, but recently been avoiding my art, because there's this sense that I have so much inside to be shared, and I don't know where to start/how to meet the musical expectations of myself. It would be fabulous if you had a meditation for loosening that knot and allowing the energy and light to flow freely within creativity. Thank you!!!!!!

    • @HubfortheHeart
      @HubfortheHeart  8 років тому

      +Rehana C. Oh goodness, here it is again: perfectionism dressed up in the garb of expectation, as passed down from someone else's dusty ol' closet. :) I can relate. We got this! I'm happy to post a meditation to enhance creativity: We'll discard the hand-me-downs, open the doors of the heart and connect with creativity/inner voice as inspired from authentic self...... stay tuned......should have something posted within 2 weeks.

    • @HubfortheHeart
      @HubfortheHeart  4 роки тому +3

      Thank you for comments. The meditations will effect us each a bit differently......depending upon what is rising up for each of us from the inside. Sometimes sadness, sometimes joy, sometimes crystal clear clarity and yet, other times, we simple notice an ongoing commentary of the mind (and can be frustrated by that!). My insights: Remain with experience (rather than distancing)....as if you're moving toward, feeling, withing the experience. Then, see what that brings. Massive respect for your journey, Karuna
