I learned this song when i was a child. "What shall we do with the drunken sailor" were probably the first English words I ever spoke. I have no idea why they thought this would be an appropriate song for German kids. LOL
Well done sir! Wondered how this song was played. Hal Leonard's Mandolin Fake Book has this as strumming of Dm, C, & Am and sounds COMPLETELY different from your picking tune. Like yours MUCH better. :)
I believe the version Jesse is using here is based off of the works of a Norwegian band (If I'm not mistaken) called 'Storm Weather Shanty Choir'. Also I wouldn't mind getting a tab for this tune myself.
Hi jesse, i just started to learn drunken sailor on my mandolin. i`m knew to playing but it seems to me your playing difeerent rendition then me. what are the tabs so i can get it down. By the way, sounds great! all the best rhys
Could you make a tutorial for this one please ? :) or put up the tab? thanks
Angelic voice, bless you , mate!
I love the double meaning of "put him in the hold with the captain's daughter" in this song, as a Captain's Daughter is a cat o'nine tails. ;)
No..."Sleeping with the Captains Daughter" is a punishment that means you are tied over the breach of a Cannon and Whipped...no condom needed.
I LOVE your voice, your tune selections and ALL your musical talents are so awesome!
I love this song, i love this boy.
