After you erase "frixion" thermo-sensitive ink, the deactivated pigment doesn't go away, it stays on paper. You can put the paper into a freezer (below -10°C) and it will reappear.

Pilot released new FriXion "full size" ink cartridges (VER 2) about a year ago. They come in 0.5 and 0.7mm and offer much better contrast than the previous FriXion inks. I have swapped all my old FriXion cartridges for the new ones and cannot go back.
