This could really revolutionize communal living in dorms and so on. I would have no problem sharing facilities, if I knew that there was going to be a robot cleaned bathroom available at all times. Surely this is dream come true for many people who are currently forced to house share?

" can pay someone $20 an hour and have them do this bathroom in a fraction of the time it takes this machine to do it. " Are you kidding, this thing cleaned it in like two minutes. This thing is more thorough and faster than a human could be. More importantly, Richard, why would you WANT humans to do that job? It's dirty and beneath human dignity.
Well, robots have limitations in their skillsets right now but those limitations will be solved over time and we should make small steps towards a future where humans reach their true potential and do not do jobs that need little skillsets or physically demanding.

A great concept of a useful robotic product. Almost all washroom doors are self-closing doors. Can the robot open and go through a self-closing door, especially it opens by pulling? Can the robot wipe out excessive liquid on different surfaces? Batteries of such a robot can run out quickly. Can the robot re-charge its batteries by itself on a nearby wall power outlet? How to load water and cleaning chemicals? If all of these essential parts of the job still need human helps, it is still far from feasibility.
These are great questions. For opening and going through a door, see the Spot from Boston dynamics that can open and go through doors. So that is possible. Wiping is also done before. There can be self-charging stations where the robot can autonomously go and charges itself. Most robotic vacuum cleaners are capable of this, and that can be implemented. For loading and cleaning chemicals, it is challenging but possible to teach a robot to do so from a place where they are stored. So, we are pretty much close to a fully autonomous cleaning robot.
All the jobs that can be broken down into smaller steps and are repetitive in nature will be replaced by automation and AI. People in these jobs need training to enter professions needed by the new world.
This is what type of cleaner we need now as proper cleaners 🤣at least they get the job done better with floors and such to replace the normal cleaners we have today in hotels, apartments, toilets and such
