They are definitely around, I see my share of them. Best place to run across them as a regular customer, in my opinion, would be by spending cash at gas stations or mom and pop restaurants. I sometimes see them when I ask the bank for a strap of singles. As a cashier, many people like to spend them at the drive through, that is where I see most of them at, even on $5s and a couple $10s (think that the people who stamped those were a bit over excited about tracking notes).

That’s what I thought about doing (keeping it)when I found THAT note #1. Nice to see it’s being put to good use 👍.

I have a virtual collection of interesting examples of those. I will take a picture of it, and save it to the gallery on my phone. Might track some one day.

Speaking of political stamps on bills, my friend once got as change a $1 that had "DON'T TRUST THE LIBERAL MEDIA" stamped on it. We all got a good kick out of it (we're in one of the bluest states so...yeah haha), but sadly she has since lost it.

I've found hundreds of those notes, I just spend them after entering them. I entered a $5 bill today that I found shit hasn't been tracked for over 15 years plus.

Did you ever see "Where's George" the movie?
Ok they really didn't make a movie called Where's George but in 1993 they did make a movie called "Twenty Bucks" it was a movie about a $20.00 bill that passes through the lives of many different people, from its origin at an ATM to its eventual end.
It's a pretty interesting movie to watch it stars Brendan Fraser, Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi.
Not sure where the whole Where's George idea came from but I have a feeling it might have came somewhat from the idea of this movie.

I saw the founder of this. He was laughing stating sometimes it's tracked to a strip club, and the next day it will be in an offering plate.

I bill hunt about 1.5 to 3k notes per week, getting them from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. And have received many (close to a thousand) Where's George notes. The Fed doesn't go out of their way to collect and dispose of these notes. It's not cost effective. That's a fallacy brought forth by people who believe the note to be unspendable, which it is not. Although most will not work in bill changers. Most are replaced when the note becomes so beat up, (i.e. the texture of a hankerchief), or it is torn into multiple pieces.
