Hallelujah. For 15 years I searched for this song, thank you Aaron Clow for uploading it! I recorded this song on a cassette mix direct from the radio, WFNX Boston, in the early 90's. I listened to that mix many times until I lost the cassette or threw it out by accident sometime in the early 2000's. Then I started searching for it digitally with no success. Periodically I would search google with the fragments of lyrics I knew but I always came up empty (I now realize it was "schools of blues" and not "pools of gloom" :). One challenge was I had incorrectly labelled this song on the cassette as by L7, and with no song title. I searched thru L7's catalog but realized this was not L7 and that I had mislabeled. The song was just before or after Black Metallic by Catherine Wheel so I knew it was problably released in 91 or 92. So many years searching and have found it and that makes me happy! This post about searching for lost songs enabled me do it: markfgriffin.com/2015/02/need-help-identifying-song/.I just listened to the song straight thru 4X. This is in my opinion one of the top songs of the 1990's, and I've listened to ALOT of stuff from the 90's. Fantastic song 360's. Now I get to explore the rest of the album and catalog of the band because I never knew who they were. It's like discovering a new band :)
@@AaronClow I was inspired by the "case of the missing hit" podcast on Spotify to renew my efforts to hunt down this song. If you haven't listened to that it's a must. The ultimate story of chasing down a forgotten song.
I just checked. I could have sworn I had one from Strawberry Stone, but it's not in with the rest of them. I'm going to be converting my video collection over the next couple months and if it turns up, I'll definitely post it. Sorry I couldn't help you out right now.
I walked the straits of wood green what a scene it was I saw a dream and there it was surrounding me I saw the pink glow of dawn reflecting you I knew the earth and she soothed my burning feet Inside the time machine everyone was dancing there High and mesmerized parallel worlds collide Were the freaks that drifted thru your rules and schools and blues Were the past thats always been and the future know our truth Step outside and your gone
Supernatural was a sweet album :)

Whole album is fantastic! Never thought of it at the time, but Boston 'grunge' dare I say...
Almost female fronted Screaming Trees
I listened to this album nonstop in 1992/1993. It still sounds fresh. Saw them live in London. Thanks for sharing this.

Nice! Been looking for this too! Thank you, thank you!
...thanks again for this...
I've always wondered if Slapp Happy's "Blue Flower" was an influence on this. The bass during the chorus reminds me of it

I walked the straits of wood green what a scene it was
I saw a dream and there it was surrounding me
I saw the pink glow of dawn reflecting you
I knew the earth and she soothed my burning feet
Inside the time machine
everyone was dancing there
High and mesmerized parallel worlds collide

Step outside and your gone
Thank you Audrey. Years later, your music and words still move us....
