I really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for making them.
Thank you for your comment. Motivates me to continue making them
the music choice and the music fading in and out ALWAYS on point. hats off to ya!
“He puts gravel on his driveway about every other weekend.” We’ve all got a neighbor like that! Love it!
With the cost of that much gravel they could just pave it.
I smashed the like button at "If you want your lawn to look like a golf course.. Start treating it like a golf course!"
Yep. It's the truth. Thanks for your comment
Out in the Texas sun mowing the yard of a house we rent, take care of it better than I should tbh. Anyway, stopped the mower after a few passes, and found myself laying prone on the grass, picking at some lime-yellow-green grass with seedlings and grunting out, "yep, that's frickin POA right there folks". Wife thinks I'm crazy...but you all get it.
Funny that demo of how the humic and such helped show me more of its abilities than the guys who specifically do videos on those products. You never get to really see the difference in the improvement and you did it in 15 sec just showing where you dumped some crap out lmao. Great!
Hey, I just have to say, I’ve been watching your channel religiously for just about two years now and you never cease to entertain. No matter what you’re doing in the lawn (or not) I’m always left entertained in some way. You showing the “struggles” of lawn care just shows that no one has the “perfect” lawn and there’s always places you can improve. I just had to say I love you’re approach, and it’s the same attitude I have with mine. “Just try it out and see what happens”. With some knowledge thrown behind it. Lol
Sounds like you need a seeding mat for the bare areas. My grandfather always used cheese cloth.
Great idea.
I tried saw dust. We will see
My bossman is always telling me sawdust encourages moss growth. Sand would probably work aswell.
We use "stand up" a silicone based product at the golf course. Which makes the everything stand up for a better cut on the greens, but ultimately it helps us control the seed heads as they stand up also.
Because of you I have been renovated my lawn changed over to bluebank midnight and Mazama. Look pretty bad at first. But let me tell you I am so proud how far it has come. 3 1/2 inch cut and it's like carpet. because of you I'm getting looky-loos. Best part none of that easy sissy grass
This is so rewarding to hear. Thank you for sharing
So is it only a coincidence that Mr. Knorr also has bluebank, midnight and mazama in his lawn? haha ;)
@@richardnettles7481 I do not watch rayn he is not my cup of tea. considering you do not know me and you are questioning my moral character. I think you should do a little soul-searching
So you know his first name somehow? I winked at you. Does that not count for something anymore. Geezzz
@@richardnettles7481 first yes I don't live under a rock. How many times has Connor said he's name in his videos.I did not understand that little wink. I looked at it as you were saying I am full of s%$#. I did not take kind to that. This is the exact reason why I do not text people. Because you cannot detect tone of conversation or statement. So I guess we have a failure to communicate. No hard feelings on my side
You’re my new favorite lawn guy to watch and I don’t even have any of your types of grass! Stuck with St Aug in Tx! Mullet is legit, Ryan’s got nothing on you!!!
thank you so much.
You are awesome Connor. I look forward to your videos being that you show everything and your a reel normal guy.
“First”. Lol. Awesome ! Hydretain on the dry spots and save the water.
I mowed for hours today and am still watching this
It's all about us, Connor and the lawn. Perfect choice of song pal
Was watching this wonderful video when I was interrupted by a Kujo Yard Wear Commercial staring that Ryan Knorr guy.
Absolutely nice Watching Videos!! All the best from Germany top you!
You motivated me to take care of my lawn and it is starting to look as cool as your mullet!
Thanks, from Sweden
That lawn is a beaut!
You and Ryan are my best lawn guys.
This particular video was great to watch after 5mg of THC. Watching Connor get down to the grass level to talk about issues on the micro level, or talk about the big picture commitment and rewards from dedicated lawn care. 10/10 would recommend on 1/2 Pioneer Square.
Vintage Connor Ward at his best! Calm, chillaxed, inspiring and informative! Awesome stuff! Awesome dude!
I feel like you went back to your roots here. I started watching lawn channels a few years ago when I saw your lawn.
Crazy idea - take a giant "plug" from the back yard and transplant it next to the walkway. Make the back yard grow the new grass, it doesn't have a pooling water problem (I hope).
Such fun watching your videos mate! Give us all lawnies motivation plus enjoyment 👊💯
Cheers from 🇦🇺
Here in Northern Ireland we have an infestation of poa this season with an unusual cold April and May, lime green patches everywhere. We aren't allowed to use pre emergents here so it's either kill it and reseed or live with it ! Even though our climates are totally different, this channel and premier lawns channel are my go to for lawn care.....I even went as far as to buy a second hand reel mower......never thought I'd see that happening! Keep up the great work and keep making the videos, your attitude to the whole thing makes it a success!
Hi Connor, if you use tenacity in early to mid September as a pre-emergent and again in early spring then you should be able to control the poa annua. PA is an annual so it will die off and if you can control the new germination in time you can get rid of it. PA starts to germinate in the fall not the spring as in say grab grass.Your sward looks fabulous.
Thanks for showing us your mow’ah and poa.
Conner, we all sense a little video making fatigue from you. Don't kid yourself. You have a gorgeous lawn, and are quite the character. You got a good following, and for good reason.
While all of your lawn is incredible the new section of Everest Kentucky cultivar is absolutely incredible. If I can get to redoing my lawn this year that is the cultivar I'll try to get and use. Thanks for the great information, incentive and all round entertainment Connor. Keep kicking that sissy Ryan Knorr's backside!!! :-)
Old school Connor Ward video right there. Love it!
luv that real talk about the bare spot struggles
*reel talk. It’s REEL talk bro.
Hi Connor - awesome vid, your lawn is amazing. I just got my 1600 - so Im mowing every other day, I love it so far.
Cheers!
Nice tunes to cut by... oh yeah
I dig you going back to your OG style in this video. Thanks for the content.
I’ve had success pulling any poa in my yard by hand. Usually if you trace the seed head back to the base, there is a nice clump to grip and rip. The bare spot looks weird for about a week, but then if fills in. You may not be doing yourself any favors by rubbing your hand over the top of that poa patch - just spreading seeds. Still, everything looks amazing! Congrats on your hard work continuing to pay off.
Connor, it was nice to hear the positive thinking. Where you started and where you are today. You are right, our yards are not always perfect, just takes a bit of time. One grass blade at a time.👍🏽 nice video bro
This video just spoke to me. Love your stuff but this one just got to great mowing footage and stripes. And the talk about poa. Loved this one!
Watching from Iowa love the channel
That's what we are all here for is to learn from each other! My dahlias are blooming nicely for the 2nd year. Learned from my mistakes last year and got some tips from your videos this spring. Sorry to say I don't have the stones to do a total reno on my front and side lawns but may have to due to damn quack grass in a part of my bluegrass. Thank you for another video and look forward to the next!
smoke it
Your walkway and parking area look NICE brother ward
That was a great video Connor. You keep making them, we’ll keep watching them. Lawns are a great hobby. Just like life, it’s about the journey.
Thanks Connor!...your lawn does look like a golf course!👏👏👏👍🏌️♂️
Your grass and lawn is incredible
Great little video this. Full of what makes looking after the lawn enjoyable. Nice one 👍
@3:00 @3:53 Love the flashback clips and the picture comparisons! I know that takes time to find, edit and do but we love it!
Great Video as always Connor! Thanks for all your advice and tine spent on videos. My lawn looks amazing thanks to you:)
First Aussie 😁. Great attitude there Connor. 😎👍👍
That Kentucky Waterfall is magnificent.
Nice Lawn, nice hairs🙂✌🌱 your method with the pro plugger is cool. grass can work like you💪😎
Don’t lie Connor. It’s ALWAYS a competition
Looking good, Connor.
Love this guy. Does it to help us out and not to make money or free products. The ORIGINAL
Who doesnt want money? I sure do.. however I do this for fun.
@@lawnrebel lol..thanks for all you do for us brother....
Appreciate the edit with text graphic to correct some of the things you wanted to correct in what you were saying …extra effort noticed!
From what I researched is that annual bluegrass (poa annua) doesn't spread from rhizomes. They can only reproduce by seed heads. The only way for to stop it is to keep the KBG at mowed high to shade it out since it doesn't grow high and has shallow roots. The KBG(Poa Pratensis) will eventually dominate it and choke it out and then you can mow it slowly back down to your golf course height.
Poa is the WORST. I've been hitting my lawn with tenacity to help. I've done 2 apps 2 weeks apart at 5oz/acre. Mixed results. Some has died some is still hanging on. Probably need to do a 3rd. The warmer the better the results will be but then you run risk of stressing the KBG. It's a never ending battle. Good luck my friend!
Can't tell you how inspiring and entertaining your videos are Connor. I have very small lawn constantly frustrated with Pos Annua. I've killed my lawn and reseeded in the autumn (fall) for the past two years and still I have it. I am now hand picking it out as it appears. Unfortunately in UK we can't use any of the selective herbicides that supposedly treat Pos, looks like it doesn't work much anyway. Suspect you'll need to dig out and reseed a few sections yourself.
Must mention that the music choice really makes this an easy watch.. keep up the amazing work amigo.
Did you see the Lawncology vid today where his whole KBG lawn was going to seed?? I would have thought it was poa annua and dug the whole thing up…. He was cool as a cucumber. I agree that yours is poa in those yellow spots though! Love your content sir and the lawn is looking 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Use a burlap sack to prevent the seed from floating away or to keep birds from getting to it
Amazing video. Great looking lawn as well!! Well done Connor
Glad you’re finally able to mow!
Conner I love your content! I also love the Stache as a fellow glorious mustache owner myself and getting into this lawn care I'll be watching more! Thanks for all the tips and the honest information!
Here's an iron tip for those of us with alkaline soil. You have to use a certain form of chelated iron called EDDHA. I'm about an hour and a half northwest of you and using the EDDHA this year... wow, finally something that works! The EDDHA form of iron stays viable in our alkaline conditions long enough for it to be effective.
We got a live feed and a video in the same day. I'm on mullet overload....😂
Just kidding, love the lawn and your property is looking great. Keep the videos coming brother.
Omg, I’m new to you channel, but I’ve been admiring your lawn for years!
Ha ha
A suggestion for areas that washout like along your pathway, try mixing the seed with something like covergrow hydromulching pellets in a bucket of water, then applying hydroseed manually. Works great for filling in dead patches like that.
Looking very nice. Couldnt you water by hand the strips along the path till the seed has established?
I always throw peat moss down over my seed. Keeps it moist and doesn't run off.
Good luck getting rid of Poa Trivalis. Is all over in Atlanta and nothing will prevent it. Not even Poaconstrictor
Still a heck of a beautiful place to live. Enjoy!
Nice Grass, and no weds.😁
Mullet looks great in that Trimmer hat! Crazy how low that poa will seed. I’m cutting Bermuda sub 1\2 and it’s seeding like crazy. I usually just wait for the heat to come and kill it 👍
Selective herbicides for annual bluegrass in cool season turf are far and few between. I just use a very narrow garden hand trowel for removal. Otherwise go the normal pre-emergent route. Bag the clippings and collect the seed heads. Try temporary landscape edging along the sidewalk to limit seed wash off. Everest looks great!
Certainty works awesome!! I’ve been battling POA in my Bermuda for the last few years and I’m finally winning the battle. Prodiamine in spring and fall for pre, and Certainty for all post emergent. That’s the only thing I’ve used that actually works and wipes it out!!
Nice to see someone else enjoying the outcomes of good ole Humic? Your lawn is bouncing back great. 👊🌴😎
Great video Conner, I love how much you love your lawn!
Yard always looks amazing
Poacure worked for me to get rid of the Poa on my golf course!
wowzers! looking great, the best benefit about having a higher HOC is being able to hand pull the POA, but it feels like for every poa plant I pull out 5 more pop up the next day.
Yeah isn't that the truth
I need a little flamingo in my life. Your yard is amazing, and your hair is way more rocking than Ryan’s.
How is one supposed to focus on the video with such a epic stash looking back at me!!!!!!🤙🏼
Man Connor, the lawn is looking awesome. Love the short cut look. A great inspiration. Keep up the great work and videos! Can't wait for your dahlias to be in full bloom this year!
Me as well. They are my favorite flowers 💐
@@lawnrebel POA flower's uh huh dude ✊👏🤞. Rock that POA give us a Lil POA dance Connor 🕺 🎶 🤣
Nice update Connor
Tenacity works great we used it on our course it’s ugly at first but then your regular grass will grow in beautifully. You do have to use it on a regular basis and it’s not cheap.
I'm not a fan of it. I have some and use it but I hate that it bleaches everything... Well maybe not everything but.. I think that I may try some here in a bit
@@lawnrebel I just came across this video you might want to check it out : ua-cam.com/video/O4sKzPLnoq4/v-deo.html
I had poa emerging everywhere in my bluegrass mix last season. Dimension 2EW (dithiopyr) in April, June, and August and it is completely gone. Nothing else worked.
Man what a difference where you took out those old Crappy trees. It’s starting to look up really good👍👍 By the way I like addition of the music.
It's not about the competition (unless we're talking mullets 😉) it's about the journey! 💥
Wow, lawn is looking mint!
Love the mow, thank you for the video!
Are you freaking kidding me now!!!! I’m going to watch Connor Ward videos and I need to see a stinking Ryan Knorr commercial what a pisser-offer!!!!!
Looking awesome mate
Lawn Rebel, I was in the middle of the live stream and the video went private. You were declaring your well deserved mullet victory! Sorry I wasn't able to watch it live today. Your live streams are the best of UA-cam!
sorry. I had to do it.. too much controversy.
@@lawnrebel Have you started your PGR applications yet? How often are you spraying urea or other nitrogen? The lawn has really come along way since your first videos of the growing season. Well done sir!
@@michaellane203 no I have not yet. I want to hold off on the PGR as long as possible because I want the lawn to grow fast so it repair itself faster. I have several areas that need help as you can see and how I've shown. I just put down a bunch of seed so I will need to wait a bit longer
Keep it up we love what you connor
CW with the funky beats
Gorgeous lawn
So for tight mowing, and seed head suppression - growth regulators can help. We used to use Embark (mefluidide), but have shifted to something like Proxy (ethephon) or Primo (trinexapac ethyl) can help - it's what you'd do on on a golf course where Poa annua seedhead flush isn't desirable in low-cut areas.
Yeah boy...another new house!!!
I use 1 of 2 approaches for poa. 1. Round- Up at point blank range. 2. Dig it up.
Your grass is looking Great Connor!!!! Here in Ok, I been mowing my Bermuda with my reel mower daily for the past 2 weeks.
Hey Connor you should really consider mowing with the grass boxes on to help prevent poa seeds spreading, I'm sure in your older vids you always used the greenmasters with the catchers. Also just keep cutting poa out at the roots and seeding the bare patches and it will help control. Keep up the great content!
I have been. Just not on camera
