- As the title states - Finally Welcome everyone to our bellway weston which we purchased as a new build just over a year ago. Today we continue our transformation of the garden.
We received a swamp cesspool of a garden and today we transform the patio. A patio makeover or patio transformation if you will. In the video titled:

We had alot of issues and most of it being my fault. Not ordering enough and thinking we wouldnt need as much. Then ordering the wrong inspection plates. Then our patio was out of stock for months, like 3 months. With blood, sweat and tears (also a few outbursts) the patio is finally done and we can move on to the decking and sleeper beds which (we hope) shouldnt take as long to do.
We cant thank you for your patience, we did have another video ready but wanted this to be the next video.

Our plan is to start uploading more and more frequently - honestly it has been hard with a computer that crashed 20 odd times during editing and uploading the clips and we cant prioritise a new one just yet.

Wow you've done an incredible job! Both of you have worked so hard. It looks amazing. Your puppy has grown so much, we have a puppy and collected her on March the 5th, she's 4 months and keeps us on our toes. Can't wait to part three of your garden. Hope you are both well 😊
Hello Charlotte. We’re pretty good thanks hope you guys are as well. I’ve got a flu cold thing going on now but work through it 😜 that’s really kind thank you. He has right legs for days now 😂 awww amazing what breed did you go for? Definitely on the toes he has me on edge sometimes. Haha same it should be easier from here on. (Hopefully) 🤣
@@DevoVlogs Hi, I'm glad you are both well 😊 oh no bless you, take it easy. There's been a lot going around. Your puppy is gorgeous, my sister has two Cocker spaniels. We have a westie puppy, and we have Holly she's a small westie female age 9. We re-homed Willow at 9 weeks, it's good company for Holly as last August we lost Bailey westie at age 15 😢 that was heartbreaking devastating so we decided to wait until the time is right for us and Holly. Oh no lol 😂 Willow has me on edge 😂 she's crazy. It's so much fun but hard work at the same time. It nice to you both back 😊

did you find it hard to lay the patio? and did you get any quotes or have any idea on price of how much it would have cost to have someone else lay it? we are thinking of doing something similar with our future garden and have no idea what prices are going to be like as this is our first home.

Hello, congratulations on your home as well 😀 literally round the corner now. We’re glad you love them and the updates. We’re trying to plan and upload more but work and if we’re being honest finances mean we can’t do things quickly. Patio was a lot of work but fairly easy the sub base and levelling was the most annoying. Didn’t get any prices no we were set on trying to do everything ourselves. Then if we mess up get someone in to correct it 😂😂 I’m sure of you tackle it yourself you’ll do amazing. It’s quicker to get someone in with a team of people but the finish should be the same. Patio looks amazing, we are planning to extend patio too when we get our new build from Bellway in a month. Just wanted to clarify what product did you use under slab? Is it Blue circle ready to use slab layer? I was also planning to use the same as it doesn't require any concrete mixer but the reviews are mixed as some are saying it doesn't hold patio well.
Also how do you calculate slope?
Thanks Jem and congrats on the new house a month eh you must be excited 👍👍 extending the patio was definitely needed. A lot of the guys on the development have done it. We started with slab layer but I found it difficult to work with as it’s not that flexible once water is added, so we switched to pre mixed cement. (The just add water kind, still blue circle) the slope we just followed some videos on UA-cam and made sure we set the patio very slightly to the left or right of the centre of the spirit level. There’s probably a better way 😂😂 good luck have fun.

What is an inspection plate?
Hey hey, thanks for watching. An inspection plate just replaces manhole covers so you can keep the look of your patio rather than have manholes in the way. 👍👍
@@DevoVlogs what is a manhole cover? Were they already in your backyard?
Yeah they were we had four in the backyard. Even through we were told we wouldn’t have any. A manhole is a grid top lid thing so people can get down to service water/sewage pipes.
@@DevoVlogs I’m American. We don’t have those in backyards. Just streets. A water pipe might be in a front yard. How do they gain access to the backyard?
Ah my apologies Kristine. Didn’t think our videos had reached that far yet 😂 thank you very much for taking the time to comment. I’m picturing the big circle ones you see on the roads in America. In the back yard they are not very nice plastic rubber things not nice at all. Some are ok depending on placement. Honestly you kinda just have to let the service guys through into the back garden. Through the house or the side gate. Hopefully never have to do it. 😜
