    I just tried it and linked to my Adobe Cloud, works fine, about a 4-5 min lag in terms of when it appears in Lightroom Classic under Nikon Imaging Cloud\Imported Photos and away I go.
    I think this is good when your walking around a venue with wifi at an event and its already uploading to Lightroom and a great way to ensure backup of photos as well, maybe just the jpgs but I only tested it using the raw files.
    Otherwise as you said the standard workflow we are used to of dropping the CF Express card content and then additional backup from there works well for me.
    Love my Z6iii coming from a Z7ii as I also own the Lumix S5ii and S5iix for videography so it fits right in there as a 3rd A cam as well as my photography favourite hybrid.

    I’m really enjoying the simplicity of the KISS concept in photography 🎉 in a world full of various technologies I find the layers of excessive tech interferes with my creativity. Shouldn’t we be concentrating on the 3 x vital elements of photography, L. C. M. these 3 things are being talked about less and less nowadays. Great video as always though Matt ! Thank you 🙏

    This cloud service has been a long time coming. It further enhances the Nikon users experience. I'm not sure if Nikon could infuse some RED technology on the cloud? Possibly that could be integrated later. To me it is value added without doubt. Well done Nikon. thank you Matt as always

    Imagine if we could load in HSL data instead of just hue and saturation for recipes. The cloud is cool ! Can you tether to your phone data plan and upload to the cloud that way? A lot of people have a ton of phone data, like hundreds of GB a month, so certain shoots may benefit from that immediate file redundancy.

    I would be interested in the Nikon cloud so will be watching however I don't have a Z6III. I own a Z6, Z9, ZF. Hopefully it will work on one of those. Since I shoot lots of high school sports, I see so many students take photos with their phones and share it right away....so that is what they obviously like. If they could do the same thing with a camera, I think it might encourage more youngsters to enter photography with a proper camera but they seem to be perfectly happy using their I phones so why purchase a new camera? Well maybe if the camera could place calls or text. I just got my copy of the Viltrox 16mm 1.8 and I really like it. I would be interested in the number of copies Viltrox sells as it was on backorder on all the major stores I use like Adorama. A solid lens and the f stop readout is cool looking so there you go. That ticks my box......looking cool ! Ted in Sebastian, Fl.

    I down loaded the app so has to pair it with my iPhone . The pairing allowed me to use the iPhone as a screen to view on instead of the eyecup . Now all those of us who may have wondered why our back screen was unable to do the full flip may not need it do that anymore. But the great news was that the app informed me of my z8 up date firmware was available, it requested did I want to upgrade. I pressed yea and it simply up graded my body. No messing around. Then I placed my z 85 mm lens on it and it did that too. Next day I was already to go out and check how well the iPhone would interact with the z8 using the phone as my main screen. It work day one day today it did not want to know. My question is Matt is it safe to risk an upgrade of firmware yet was I lucky it worked or not ? Why would it not work day two ? This is a serious problem. Cheers may be you or others have had this happen. I am in England by the way .my app showed z 8 and 9 so is there something we are missing.

    Imagine a converter that translates a Nikon Picture Control file (recipe) into a profile file that Adobe (Camera Raw - ACR) can use.
    ACR is the raw processor in Photoshop in a recognisable way. But it also does that job in Lightroom Classic (LrC). It IS the Develop tab in LrC.

    I will try to make some time for testing over the weekend. Certainly I won’t plan any of my commercial work around this workflow until we’ve seen at least a first bug fix firmware update, but for personal Instagram purposes and such, this cloud system might come in handy. Thanks for sharing Matt, Nikon provides 20GB of Cloud Services storage for free to supported camera users, it's not much, but you can limit your uploads to selected photos, or also send JPEGs if you just want to get the photos into your phone to share with friends on the spot. One thing that has been an issue for me is I have not been able to connect to my iPhone's Hotspot, this severely limits the use of this feature as I am frequently in remote locations without regular WiFi access.

    • @milkaselnuss
      @milkaselnuss 25 днів тому

      I think you are confusing two services here.
      The service you are talking about is Nikon Image Space. That service has been around for some time.
      The new image cloud is unlimited in storage space but images are only stored for 30 days there. It really is just a temporary storage either as a backup for failing gear or to move it to a different permanent cloud storage of your choice.

    • @Interbeing_CDN
      @Interbeing_CDN 25 днів тому

      @@milkaselnuss Thanks, I will have to go back in and recheck, I have only been experimenting with it for a few hours, somewhere along the line, it asked me to sign up for storage space. I had been using Nikon Images previously, so it seemed like it was a new configuration. That isn't my main concern though, the inability to use my phone's hotspot is. Have you had any success with setting up the WiFi connection from the camera to a Hotspot?

    Not to be a Debbie Downer but this cloud uploading service is something I expect will likely fizzle out two years from now. I have my own workflow which works well all be it the traditional tried and tested one of pull the cards at the end of a shoot, back up then start editing. I applaud Nikon for their forward thinking so I'm not knocking the concept here, heck, who knows I'm just a dinosaur, it could prove to be hugely successful. My guess is that uploading thousands of images would literally take hours. I've got my Z6III and very happy I am too with it. I might dabble in creating my own profiles but I'll be giving the cloud backup a miss unfortunately 😋

      Depending on your work flow you’re absolutely right but for me if anything this would be a great back up.. whether it be so I don’t have to use 2 cards or the case that sometimes I just want the files easily on my phone and downloading via SnapBridge is super slow so if it’s online using pure internet I’d much prefer that

    Interesting Picture recepies have been available for the DSLR seems they are getting a boost. The next thing is Wifi speed, I like snapbridge but the transfer speeds are very slow my guess higher speeds demand more power and I find when auto download is enabled the camera can become sluggish (Zf and Z8) I notice it when using the zoom function.
    I looking forward for this to improve.

  • @milkaselnuss
    @milkaselnuss 25 днів тому

    You said that we have a thirty day trial for images to cloud. But that's not how I understood it.
    I understood this as a permanent service. Whenever I take a photo and it is uploaded to the cloud, it will be available for 30 days and then be deleted. Enough time so that in case my gear fails, I can still get the pictures from the cloud. Or as the middle layer to transfer my images to a different permanent cloud storage.

    Lets hope it is better than the Dinosaur Snapbridge - can't even have two cameras running simultaneously on Snapbridge for example for GPS tagging ...... Nikon needs to role out the new service to all Z cameras and ensure connectivity is decent with effective image downloading to devices. Although preview and RAW images from Z8 images still can't be seen on my iPad/iPhone in both Apple photos and Lightroom, or indeed in Mac Finder - what is going on there ???? Over 12 months since launch and Apple still don't recognise the RAW files
