*When is it going to go live?* This mode (and Aurora) is gonna appear on PBE on 25th June. They're gonna be on the live servers on 17th July. The reason why it's 3 weeks is because this specific patch cycle lasts 3 weeks. We usually have 1 or 2 of those each year.
In a month? Seriously? This mode looks like something made by interns to be completely fair edit: I'm someone with 100% completion in vampire survivors. Instead of throwing out this half-baked skin ad, they could've easily turned it into long-term gamemode, with high player retention. They could even monetize it by simply letting players use skins in it, and make the characters unlockable by exploring maps. I know lol players like to cope, but mark my words, this mode will be disappointing.
@@gruncik1841 I believe it's uncertain what is gonna happen to it in the long run. I think Riot's philosophy is: if they see good numbers at release - they will do more with it. There are 4 maps in this mode - i'd say it feels better than average mode they used to do - but also staying realistic aswell.
Note: Riot now has a dedicated team working on game modes (I believe it was around 20 people? - could be wrong here though). They had similar, but smaller, team up until 2016/2017, but for few years after that, there was really noone working on game modes exclusively. So this should mean that we will eventually get other game modes too. Unless Swarm is a massive failure, Riot just looks at numbers (wouldn't be the first time) and they decide to halt it. Only time will tell.

i hope this eventually gets more updates with new characters and maps to play, new upgrades to choose from, would be a cool thing, also, just comparing to the games i have played, the pick up stat to upgrade weapon system is very much vampire survivors, but having a main weapon tied to the character, a special ability (in this case ult), plus how the bosses play out doing AoEs and stuff and the somewhat random events is way more like Holocure.
i have doubts about potential updates, for this period, the mode is planned for only 1 month. Maybe, if they bring it out for other events such as Halloween/Christmas?

Not really that the whole dev team left but that they scrapped the porject and are starting it over again and they said it will take several years for them to even talk about the MMO again. So I expect it to take a long time before something will happen regarding the MMO.
I see a lot of people being negative about this at the comments, but this is a step on the right direction, seeing that riot is actually trying to push for fun modes is the best that can happen
I kinda wish it would just be like normal summoners rift where you build normal items for specific mobs and takes strategy / using abilities. Rather than just running around letting it do everything for you

Gimme SG/Odyssey next time, oh holy Sarhaian!
I quit about 4 months ago, everything I see just reinforces my feelings towards it. League just feels like it's on a downward spiral. SG/Odyssey was so great, this honestly kind of looks like trash.
Basically Riot Sirhaian created this in his free-time. At first Riot didn't want to invest into it, but eventually they got convinced and followed it up. But it all started from Sirhaian - who is just a fan of Vampire Survivors - so that's the explanation pretty much. There is a dedicated team to game modes now - so if this type of mode does well - we can probably expect other game modes in the future (copium).
@@Vandiril I'm really hoping for Odyssey/SG back some day cuz those were my most fond memories of League and playing it with friends. Though this will suffice and at least partly fill that hole. But I really hope they won't give up on PvE development.
It's no different than how any other of those bullet-hell survivor games works. There's really no other way to do it and still ensure that you're actually getting upgrades.
@@Dyanosis yeah but the league brain can't comprehend the change in pacing: normal league requires you to be active all the time, no tab/menu pops up in the center of the screen *unless* prompted by the player. Meanwhile this mechanic looks and feels intrusive, even tho it's common for this genre.

I recently foubd out about this game mode and am now watching your video 2 weeks late. And dude.. they already worked alot on this mode, it is pretty nice! Not only to see them creating a funny new mode but also that it gets cool updates. Love it 😊❤
For now the gamemode look meeeeh, things that the community wants i believe is a shop/shopface, full character abilitys, more impact, mouse movement, being able to normal autoattack, reasons to move around the map not just mobs, when an ability is maxed custom image and a upgraded version of the skill (looks and all). All these things would probably make the gamemode feel more impactful and kinda 50/50 league and vampire survivor which is what i believe alot more ppl want from this
the one problem i have looking at it right now is that, the pause ruin the momentum of the game... I wish they add another button that u can open up like shop for upgrade, and so it doesn't ruin the experience with others and in general. Other than that, its look really fun and cant wait
Welcome to roguelikes with multiplayer. If u played vampire survivors with local coop or remote play it is basically the same. It might get tiring to wait, but u wont be irritated as much as you imagine.
its not polished and live yet so i think theres lot of here and there to improve, my biggest problem is the pause everytime you get an upgrade. this thing happen often that in multiplayer, drop the tempo of the game if you play with other people. i think it shall not paused the game, but it appear like on the corner right or left screen and we can select that. also i think this is more like holocure than vampire survivor due to scaling with non damaging stats, so i think more detailed info in game needed (like holding alt actually show detailed stuff) also, i think augment should drop at start like arena, kinda make you have an idea what you gonna build
it is basically done for release. if it is going live on PBE there will be only bugfixes and nothing more. I expected more from riot, having some great games in this space like Vampire survivors, Nordinc Ashes, brotato etc this looks BASIC and low quality even for "mode"

Trying to make VS-gamemode engageable in junky League will be pretty hard, it will start getting old REALLY FAST. I'm also sceptical that they'll try to monetize it somehow and ruin it just like Path of the Champions gamemode in LoR. (they've turned it from a fun roguelike to a grind-fiesta with earnable mode-specific lootboxes and glorified currency) Even tho i'm a big fan of PvE, i've been disappointed in Riot so many times now that i doubt they'll actually pull it off. Push the gamemode, and they can expand on it. It just depends on the playrates. Now that they have a dedicated gamemodes team, they can work on stuff like this, but if it's not successful, they'll just try a different project.
when I first tried league several years ago I was like: oh no, why the hell you don't move with WASD xd and wow, this bossfight reminds me a bit of mmorpg raid like in lost ark which had same view (or wildstar, rip), now that's what I like

I have to say the event doesn't really look like playing League of Legends. I know they had to change stuff to make PvE work, but It feels a little bit disappointing. Am I really playing my favorite champion against a horde of monsters if I don't have the original champion abilities, the classic LOL movement or items?

I wish they would've stuck more to regular league pve coop like odyssey and just added augments while still having the different perks that you could equip before queueing.
I assume theyve just assigned a very small portion of their devs to this, not knowing how well it will perform. This is also the beta and a lot of stuff is placeholder so I expect it to look a better on release. Ill probably play it 1-2 times then never touch it lol
its actually really bad cuz if i want to play this type of game i have like 5 similar to this but 100 times better because they are designed for it and this is just worse copy of those games with so little of champions and abilities

The problem is that this isn't what people were asking for; the old PvE players didn't want this. But if they don't play it, Riot will use that as an excuse to say "People didn't really want PvE back anyway", and if they do play it, Riot will just keep doing more "Bullet Heaven" modes, so it's a Lose Lose situation for anyone who liked the old PvE stuff.
Im interested to see how this mode runs on lower end pc's, usually in the summer i can only play on a laptop which isnt great. Hopefully i can still try to have fun with this, especially when its only going to be there for a couple of weeks.
Odyssey looked way better not gonna lie. Also not a fan of the WASD controls, and the random abilities that champions get. I think it would have been better if the champs had their original abilities and were able to augment their abilities to make them stronger like Odyssey did.

Its a survivor typa game but the map is not fit with the enemy they should add the map of some voids in the game and make some of it interactable for some players to also get a lore from it i think this will be a pretty good idea if theh
Balance seems very weird so hope something changes, basic enemies are melting your hp with having both armor and hp things meanwhile the boss is just tickling

probably not but you could map the inputs to a controller.
left stick for movement, right stick for the mouse, and face buttons for the abilities

I have to say the event doesn't really look like playing League of Legends. I know they had to change stuff to make PvE work, but It feels a little bit disappointing.

Ya but they didn't say it was LITERALLY vampire survivors lmao. U don't even click around to move or anything. This game is literally 1 for 1 "just put vampire survivors into the game" like. I don't know if this game has anything that any other auto-battler type game doesn't have. Id much rather play brotato or 20 mins till dawn.

Also it's not literally VS or then half of survivors games is literally VS too, I haven't seen abilities evolving through substats in VS other than some weapons merging with accessories, not saying they couldn't come up with more original gameplay but I think there's nothing more to expect from the company that made DOTA with another skin ?

I wish they would've stuck more to regular league pve coop like odyssey and just added augments while still having the different perks that you could equip before queueing.

I assume theyve just assigned a very small portion of their devs to this, not knowing how well it will perform. This is also the beta and a lot of stuff is placeholder so I expect it to look a better on release. Ill probably play it 1-2 times then never touch it lol

The problem is that this isn't what people were asking for; the old PvE players didn't want this.
But if they don't play it, Riot will use that as an excuse to say "People didn't really want PvE back anyway", and if they do play it, Riot will just keep doing more "Bullet Heaven" modes, so it's a Lose Lose situation for anyone who liked the old PvE stuff.

Years of waiting for real PVE modes to make a comeback, and we get this vampire survivors dogshit unlucky
Im interested to see how this mode runs on lower end pc's, usually in the summer i can only play on a laptop which isnt great. Hopefully i can still try to have fun with this, especially when its only going to be there for a couple of weeks.
Disappointed to be honest I hoped for a gamemode where you can practise kiting and movement something like that

Odyssey looked way better not gonna lie. Also not a fan of the WASD controls, and the random abilities that champions get. I think it would have been better if the champs had their original abilities and were able to augment their abilities to make them stronger like Odyssey did.

Balance seems very weird so hope something changes, basic enemies are melting your hp with having both armor and hp things meanwhile the boss is just tickling
