New Breed is my absolute favorite book. It's exactly what I need for that better feet coordination to be able to play hihat with my left feet over any groove. Also fantastic for working on your left hand.
practice new breed slowly and as accurately as you can, playing the exercises fast is secondary, speed is a biproduct of long-term control developed from slow practice
Amazing drummer Mr Chris Colman I'm still working on this I use to be like this fluint on any Bass drum because I started on a 24x16 in church now I'm older a 49 year old man trying to get back where I was at on the drums because I had stopped playing for awhile cuz live happens you know but now at the age I am I find myself useing a double Bass pedel now but would like to be more fluint like I was on a single pedel pearl the best reason why I play drums 💪 🥁
Max Echendu To be honest, I cant tell if its his right, left, or both legs, but he is telling the truth actually. I have noticed in a number of his videos when he does doublebass single strokes they, a lot of the time are not clean.
0:09 BESIDES HIS DRUMMING GENIUS CHRIS IS COMICAL CANNOT FORGET THE TWO OCCASIONS WHEN I MET HIM IN 2002 AT THE JACOB JAVITZ CENTER IN NEW YORK WE TALK A LONG TIME STILL GOT HIS FIRST CD SOLO RECORDING THAT HE GAVE TO ME FOR FREE
So are we all going to ignore that he has a bass guitar case behind him? We know that there has to be more video with him slaying that bass with Thomas Lang
With all respect, please remember fast is just fast. It does not necessarily mean good. Regarding the New breed books, it's more important to have the systems in you at slower tempos so your body and your brain understands where everything is Gary Chester's books were not meant for speed drills. It was meant to develop multiline rhythms.strength and speed will come naturally the more we actually play or practice on a set of drums. Also remember, coordination first then comes the independence!! Last but not least, these are Gary's words.... Be a human being first and a musician second!! Hope this doesn't offend anyone. Keep your chops up my brothers!!
Coleman is making fun of Dennis the way he plays drum , is true what he say. However Dennis rimains a great drummer, he played with hundreds of musicians, and the way he plays he inspire thousands of drummers yet.
'You've got to find that place where you're not falling apart and not necessarily nailing it, and live right there!'
