We head up to RSTUNING once again to get the map tweaked on the megane by the absolute guru's of Renaultsport.
Now running all the bolt on mods for "STAGE 2" (Full turbo back exhaust, Intercooler upgrade and intake) It was long overdue to get the meg up there and tuned to the latest mods.
Lets see how much more sauce we can make from a downpipe and better cooling!

How much torque can the EDC transmission hold? Did it ever over heat when the car running on this HP Nd torque?
@@jessechen998 I'm running around 490nm's with absolutely no issues. I've been told they can differ but RSTUNING never push the clutches to slip so the tune is always left in a safe place torque wise. The manual can hold a bit more I've been told but aren't as reliable gearbox wise.
As for temps, the car ran fine pull after pull on the Dyno at this power with this tune
341 bhp and 476 Nm of torque... This is not a basic Megane RS Trophy anymore ! Congrats for the efforts.

Interesting video, these make a tad more power than a mk3 with the same mods. Mine was 320 with the stage yours is at for 340.
Off to rstuning tomorrow to collect mine with a full build, running big boy numbers now
Yeah these don't make much more than the meg 3's, i think dropping 200cc's hasn't helped but it still moves well! Will do a mk3 ve mk4 vid soon 🙏
Do you recall what pressure the turbo is running at? Did you tweak that or is there nothing you can do with the stock unit?
I don't mate i just left him to it as he's the wizard!! 😂 I can ask him for you though if you would like to know? The boost was definitely upped because i made 50ish bhp and running 480ish nm's of torque

Hello I'm impressed .last time we spoke u were gonna try and get a old vs new comparison set up .my mk3 has 344.2bhp with 366.4 lbs so it would be interesting to see how to different cars face each other and tuned by the same tuner.ps don't think anybody has done a mk4 vs mk3 without subtitles lol

Awesome video mate! How did your trophy perform standard on the dyno? Here in Holland they al perform way under factory standard! My 280 edc runs 261 hp. Is it a must to run on a 4x4 dyno?
It seems to be common for these to underperform dude! Mine made 290 pre map, with a cat back and intake... Not far off but 297 claimed spec, but now running 340ish is different levels 😍 did a video before this when i mapped that, look for 'road to remap' series on my channel 👊
So a weird clio question. My old 0.9 has been totalled lookin at a throphy. 50k ph1 throphy or reckon to go for ph2 100k km? Im leaning towards low milage ay
I'd personally go for the lower mileage mate... The differences between phase 1 and 2 are very minimal

Was running rich only due to the downpipe though... That's what needed the most adjustment on the tune

@@VersionOneUK nice Defo it’s just a tool of before and after impressed with the mk4 meg. I test drove one and felt really agile renaultsports are defo overlooked for more boring to drive alternatives
@@simbo5681 people are far too concerned about straight line speed mate thats why. Your golf r's etc may be quicker on straights, but round any b roads or tracks you'd have Renaultsports all over you
@@VersionOneUK defo I owned a mk3 meg RS and now have a mk3 clio Rs great drivers cars. I need to try the mk4 clio Rs not been in one yet but don’t think I’d want to change from the mk3
@@simbo5681 the mk4 clios are definitely slept on mate, but its a very different formula to the mk3. I've never actually driven a mk3 clio, always wanted to... They feel alot more 'daily trackable' if you know what i mean, a bit softer... I had a 172 before the mk4 and i think between the mk2, mk3 and mk4 they all feel different to drive. My 172 was very playful, the mk4 was much more planted and serious but not as stiff.
One quest, did you still having the dcat error on the dash? Or you asked your tuner to delete it
All error codes are gone. Dash is clear mate since the tune
I also have an orange trophy, thinking about to put a Dcat also :D

@@renatogoncalves2136 if you do... DO NOT straight pipe it, sounds terrible. I still have the active valve but also have a centre box because in sport/race it was awful

It does go well mate! Strong pulls and now runs perfectly which i'm really pleased with... With the GPF delete it didn't like running it without a tune for it

Yeah dude! I'm going to do a full video on the test drive and sounds now VERY soon. As for BOV's, forge Motorsport do some for these cars. I have their spacers kit on atm
@@VersionOneUK Hello dear... I installed the spacer kit too on my Megane RS Trophy as suggested by you. In order to hear the sound a lot more, I just removed the black felt under the hood, it changes everything, you should try it also as I can see you still wearing it on your Meg. Cheers.

Hello there mate, i got myself a mk4 Megane GT-Line.. got any suggestions about tuning it??? All the garages says they cant chip it because there is no software for it...

No idea mate! Will be worth doing some research i think and drop it in the forums. There isn't much out there even for the RS models so i would assume there isn't much demand for Gt line tunes... Will be definitely worth doing some research though

Potentially mate if i can get it arranged! The last standard vs modified video i did i got heat for not bringing 2 modded cars 😂 i will get the meg out at some point and see what and where we got performance for sure
@@VersionOneUK I don't understand why you would get heat. Obviously it's going to be quicker but I like seeing where the car was against where it is now and in the various stages of tune. Your car is basically where I want mine to be so I'm very interested in the comparison. Am I right in saying that it's what people call "clubsport" spec now? New to renault rs's so I'm not fully up to speed with the names yet
@@teljacobs1982 i agree mate, i did a video of my car 'stage 1' vs a standard manual trophy if you want to check it out, you'll see there is a noticeable difference, but i'll for sure re-do it in this current state if i can get a standard trophy for the day! For now though -

@@Trophy_R OK that makes sense. I suppose its a stepping stone in between a trophy and trophy r. A bit more hard-core without the price tag or the carbon bits.
Hey mate watched this video awhile ago, however i was on RS tuning FB today (because my flame red meg will be up there tomorrow, just had it mapped made 329.2bhp). How come he has uploaded the 333bhp chart if you made 341?? Just curious. Cheers
Hey mate! In the video i do state we made 336, 337 and 341, but Paul used the graph from the cleanest run, in the video you see the car do the 336 run in the video but as we did probably 15 odd runs things started getting hot as expected but the last 3 runs I mentioned above all within a couple bhp of each other.
@@VersionOneUK Ahh ok nice, so is it more likely to be running around 333bhp? As he cleaned up the map etc? I imagine he would use the cleanest and safest map? Nice1
@@johnboy2436 the 333 run wasn't the last run mate, it pulled 3 times above that afterwards, i just think he used the cleanest graph. I think if we kept doing runs it would have kept pulling between 330/340, the intercooler helped alot with the constant pulls. Each run was within a couple bhp of each other too so was happy with the consistency
@@VersionOneUK Thats some nice numbers mate. Im happy with my 330. He said mine was one of the quickest stock ones he ever seen. It ran 1.8 bhp over stock claimed figures.

Its not on in the last half of the video, i only had it on as paul was getting in and out the car for 3ish hours so always try to protect the alcantara as much as possible while the car has work done.

How much power to the wheels, and how much was the stock run?
The car was already running a stage 1 tune before this mate, that video is also on the channel!
It made 290 in that other video before a tune, and I'm not sure what the power equates to at the wheels
So basically it made 290 stock, now is running around 340 with stage 2 and stage 1 was 318 right? 100-200 stock is going to be around high 13 I guess. Btw I’m looking to purchase a trophy here in Italy, 2019 model manual gearbox, did you have any problems with the car, is it reliable?
@@alessandrocensi1299 the cars never let me down man... Renault don't leave much on the table as far as gains go, if you're really wanting to push it you'll need a hybrid turbo
@@VersionOneUK yeah, well let’s say that you don’t need a huge amount of power on this car, being fwd going over 350 would be pretty much useless. I think I would consider my self satisfied with intake and stage 1
