You pretty sum up how Numan is for me, gets me inside like no other artist, he's just a chorus machine! Out of the three so far this is my favourite, that chorus is just insane!
It's been a long time since I haven't enjoyed a song so much!!! This man is amazing!!! He is 63 years old and creates this music!!! I can't stop listening to it!!! 💪😎💕🔊
Gary Numan is unbelievable live, cannot wait for the next live gig, seen him many times and his shows are out of this world 🔥 love watching your channel 👍🏻
Hahaha! Urged you not to overlook reviewing this one, and here we are - the best of the three in my view. But the 'chair-spin moment' at 6:14 as the chorus kicks in? Epic! And exactly how it hit me too. Keep up the great work. 👍
Good evening Uk here Numan fan since 79 till now I love your feedback and honest reactions brilliant and he's so underrated keep up the excellent work KGB
Awesome review. And exactly how I felt buddy. I've been numan fan forever. Used to go to his concerts in the 80s. Oh and he's 63 not 62. You've got a new subscriber here. 😉👍
It's really cool that you youngster's love this Genius Gary Numan. I was in High School when he came out. Always a Gary Numan fan his daughter is pretty amazing also.
Hopefully u caught Gary on tour through the USA right now. I saw him in Orange County, CA. 2/27/22. I have a few clips on my channel. But there is a great video of the full show out there too. Gary is a bucket list legendary musician that any music fan (mainly of his music) 1000% absolutely must see live in their lifetime. He just turned 64 like 5 days ago. The sets are looking to be basically identical each night, so catching at least one show will be excellent. His encore in Orange County was only 2 bitchin songs… “Me! I Disconnect From You” &. “Prayer for the Unborn”. Love both of those songs a lot. I would marry them if I could.. 😂😍😆Viva La GenerationX😎
Gary Numan is a musical genius and just keeps delivering, anyone who hasn't seen him live should put this on their bucket list and go and see him while you still can. This new stuff is awesome but add to this his back catalogue including the best song ever written Prayer For The Unborn and you have a legend at work!
This song, the words, the way he does the chorus ... how can you not love this? I became a fan of Gary in 2000, with Pure. I knew who he was before, just wasn't into it. He's beyond words.
So Gary has 2 things going on which makes his song writing unique. He has asburgers ( not sure I spelled it correctly) and he has a different method for writing and arranging songs. Watch his alien in LA documentary.
Absolutely loved seeing him in Austin back in March '22. My first time seeing him live. It was great. I have the cd (bought at the show) but also ended up buying the album on red double vinyl. I bug my coworkers almost daily about how cool he is (they are in denial).
Been a Numanoid sice 79 and never stopped... I almost fell by the wayside at "machine and soul" but thankfully didn't. God I need Intruder to be released YESTERDAY! Gary has never drank or smoked... that may be one answer as to how can he do this at 62. You NEED to see him live
He has gotten used to drinking (steadily and healthily) and he does it sometimes before he goes out onstage. Drug culture has never really been Gary's thing thankfully.
@@ryanhunter226 That's something I didn't think he did. Still what with being a father, a husband snd touring it's hardly surprising he has the odd drop now 😁
Loving your reactions to a legend I have been a fan off since I was a child. Getting ready for school and our friends electric comes on the radio. Oh the memories.
I'm a Numanoid since 1980 and worship the ground he walks on. That said, ONE of the reasons his last four albums have been so, so, SO damned good is because he's working with producer Ade Fenton. Gary writes the song and the lyrics and lays down some guide music tracks, and then hands it over to Ade Fenton to put the polish on the product - and it's a PERFECT combination of skills. Ade put out his own album about a decade ago and Gary sang on four tracks. I suggest you check out the Ade Fenton track "Healing" (featuring Gary) so you can get an idea of exactly where Ade comes from, musically. There's a great video for it here on UA-cam.
Spot on. And what you describe as this "illumination" to me is a feeling of completely unleashing my soul. Like the 12 yo screaming :"Hell yeah." And the 53 yo now nodding: " I know, glad we were right and still are". Empowering. Maybe I send you some if my stuff to react to. Gotta work on it. To be up there, somehow......
Awesome review . Respectful and Enthusiastic .Been a Numan Nut for 4 Decades Now So Great to Hear The Credit this Man deserves .Thumbs up to you Jeffery .
Just found this. I love seeing music analysis content makers from what I would consider "outside" of Numan’s usual sphere of influence discovering and appreciating Gary Numan’s music. I have been a fan of Mr Numan’s since he hit our airwaves in late ‘79 and there really isn’t anyone like him out there. I consider his music to be a genre all its own as it doesn’t cleanly fit in any existing box. That makes it hard, IMO, for his music to find new ears. I’m glad it found yours, sir.
Love Numan. One of the high points of my life is seeing Nine Inch Nails in 2008 in London and having Trent introduce Gary on stage and then do Metal & Cars. SO good :)
I'm 28 and love Numan, have been listening for years since I found his Exile album. Instead of getting softer in his older years, he got heavier and darker. Simply the best.
Jeffery, you really need to roll back the Numan Library as far back as his Exile albums. Check Out videos and songs such as The Fall, Crazier, Rip and allow yourself to see some of his live stuff, such as the concert at the Hollywood Forever Cometary. Your head will explode. I look forward to your reactions to those cuts.
Heard of you through the "Monster Sauce" review. Dude, yes...that Gary Numan song is killer! That said, I really dig the style of the reviews you're doing. Excellent sense of humor, and great presentation! Will be tuning in more. :-)
Another new subscriber form the UK here. Great video and I echo what you are saying about the chord progression and Numan's vocals which I feel have got stronger as he has got older having been a fan from the start. Laughed out loud at the extract at the end of the video with you miming to Numan at full volume.
Check out the song off Intruder called “Is This World Not Enough”. Oh yeah Gary is hitting the states in sept & oct 2021. I have my tickets to 3 shows in SoCal. I hope you make to a show near you
I really enjoyed your reviews of Intruder and Saints and Liars. This one especially. You're saying what I've been saying for years. Keep up the awesome work. I filmed him performing an early work of Intruder at Sheffield Academy, UK in 2019 which is on UA-cam too :)

Jeffery, ha Gary Numan Tour rolled into your area? Did you get to see his show yet. Went to Boston and his show is EPIC. LOUD TOO! Awaiting your review...
I sometimes run into people that say Gary Numan doesn't have a great singing voice. So I send them a link to Saints And Liars and that usually convinces them that they misjudged him :)
Are you in the midwest? Oh you have never seen Gary live........ WOW are you in for some major ear candy!! I have been a fan since 1980 and have seen over 30 shows.
Ok, if you love animals, listen to the song If We Had Known. Gary Numan is a animal lover and advocate along with his wife and kids. This song reduces me to tears every time I listen to it. It's beautiful. About his dog who died unexpectedly. Let me know what you think!

Great song. I love The Promise on Savage. Lots of great songs on Savage though
