So excited for the new album. He has the next single, called Saints and Liars, out in late March. Saw him live in 2019. Was phenomenal. He played a demo of Intruder. I recorded the first time he ever played it on my channel 😎 Loved the reaction!
I love this man so much. Glad to hear a true fan listen for the first time. It's really a pleasure to experience it again. You don't just listen to Gary Numan. It's a visual experience also.
I first saw Gary Numan in London 1980 on Teletour. It was an amazing spectacle and it was totally different from anything else and stands the test of time. 40 years later and he's still doing it! Thank you for a nice review. From a London boy
Hahahaha! I LOVE corny jokes/dad jokes! Great video. I found you recently, subscribed and enjoy watching. I'm now one of the tens of twelves subs. lol Your vids have been helping me get through these crazy times and other personal issues. Thank you!!! ✌🏽💜💯🔥

From a 68-Something Cherokee Guy … Gary Numan is the undisputed king of synth pop. From the days of The Pleasure Principle, to I Am Ruin, and now Intruder … he seeks and id is cleverly and hypnotically successful at reinvention, much as David Bowie was; but, in a different deep conscious mode. I never tire of listening and especially watching his incredibly creative videos.
Great song from an amazing artist. Went and saw him in Southampton on his 40th anniversary tour and the night was probably the best gig Ive been to...including Mode at MSG and London Stadium in front of 80000 fans. Numan is CLASS.
So there's an event called Wasteland Weekend that happens in the Mojave Desert. Think of it as the more rabid, rusty, and tetnus infused version of Burning Man. Its a 5 day costume-mandatory Mad Max and post=apoc festival in the middle of that desert In Sepember 2017 Gary Numan's Savage (Songs from a broken world came out. Within 12 days, 10 into the start of Wasteland Weekend 2017 a fire troupe (fire performers who lit themselves, whips, fans, staves, and such') had a choreographed performance set to 'My Name Is Ruin' and it was awesome as fuck
The entire album is a masterpiece from start to finish, but Intruder is my favorite cut though several others are pretty much right there with it…. But that genius of that line, “don’t you just wish you’d listened a little more,” blows me away every time I listen.
I saw Gary on his last tour in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada @ The Pyramid for a special showcase gig on a frigid northern winter night - I was blown away at the quintessential rock front-man that he's evolved into - it was a stunning show that rates among a handful of gigs that seem to stay with me for life! I have INTRUDER on pre-order and I hope Gary gets widespread recognition from the public and critics alike with this album because I'm kinda in wonder how he seems to be slipping under the mainstream radar - he's iconic, dark and rocking... truly in a class all of his own! PS: I RECOMMEND THAT YOU UP THE TUNE VOLUME FOR YOUR REACTION VIDEOS... AND DON'T INTERRUPT THE TUNE BY PAUSING IT... JUST TALK WITH IT LIKE MOST OTHER REACTORS DO.
am a big GN fan (all the way back to '79), but "never stopped making good music" ??? There were some very dodgy albums back in the day (machine & soul !!!). Intruder took a little time to grow on me. Love it now. Especially the noise of that first chorus coming in....
@@trudig4258 bit like you "kept the faith" till M&S, always hoping next album would be better. Then gave up. until I happened upon a review for Pure in 2000. Haven't been totally enamoured with everything since then, but 2000+ much better than 1985+
Another great Numan song, called "I Am Dust," from 2013, is structurally and sonically similar but more in your face. It, too, has a jaw-dropping chorus, but not in the same league as "Intruder." ua-cam.com/video/gTuL-pgpSKo/v-deo.html In retrospect, "I Am Dust" comes across as a dress rehearsal for the more refined "Intruder."
I stopped after I, Assassin (though I did love that album), and the song The Fall brought me back. I'm really really stoked with the three tracks dropped so far.
Sooooo entertaining a review! And if you enjoyed that, please God do a follow-up for 'Saints and Liars' when Numan releases that next. Nice work - thank you!
@@JefferyRThomas - I am not sure how versed you are in Numan's catalogue (he never really stopped making albums since 1978) but "Intruder" is his 22nd studio album, and quite a bit of his output deserves a deep dive. His musical evolution (and innovation) is worth checking out if you haven't already. If you like the industrial/goth vibe in his music, pretty much everything from his "Sacrifice" album onward is worth a listen. The albums from that one going forward transitions from dark-wave synth, yet very hook oriented tracks, to progressively more industrial, dark and anthemic soundscapes as the albums proceed. I have been a fan since 79 when his second Tubeway Army album "Replicas" came out prior to him taking up the solo name Gary Numan and have been a devotee from that early electronic "android" phase onward. Being a sucker for a killer bass grove myself, some of his post "machine music" albums such as "Dance", "I, Assassin" and "Warriors" are built on some of the most insane driving fretless bass grooves imaginable. Groves provided by such legendary bassists as Mick Karn, Pino Palladino and Joe Hubbard respectively. Even his less successful post-"Warriors" albums (during a sometimes derided period in his career) have a few hidden gems here and there before he found his more acclaimed and current line of musical evolution. Anyway, love your reaction video(s) to Numan, that seem to be rather rare finds on UA-cam, which is odd considering how influential he has been over the decades for other artists. Cheers.

yeah..good music...have been a fan since 1979, and always enjoyed his music and seeing him on tours. I do take issue with his latest messages in his music of a ruined world by climate change. I suppose I could take him a little more seriously if he, his wife, and three daughters were living in a humble little home that doesn't use much energy to heat and cool. I suppose I could take his messages in his music if he no longer flew around the world for his world tours burning thousands and thousands of gallons of fuel. I suppose I could even take him more seriously if he didn't rent RV's to shuttle his family around on vacations. seriously ?? Nah, but he lives in a H U G E mansion far bigger than his family really NEEDS...he flies all around the world for tours... he uses FAR MORE ENERGY than I do...I mean F A R more...yet he peddles his climate change is ruining the world to me. The lyrics for this is (according to Gary) from the point of view of the Earth talking to humans as they die off as a species.
That just added a WHOLE new element of awesomeness
