    When my dad graduated from college in 1972-73 he could only find part-time work as a shop teacher plus he had his student loans to pay off. He Coached and reffed sports for a little money and had to work all summer in construction, truck driving, and finally farming. He finally got on full time but then ended up quiting and never got any summers off of work because he had regular jobs like the rest of us had. They paid pretty good though.
    Then he finally got to be a Methodist preacher and put in pretty much all he made into his retirement fund so in fifteen years he put in thirty years worth of retirement funds

      Well that's all fine and dandy however your dad also probably didn't pay any more than $120 a month for an apartment your car insurance was hardly 20 fucking dollars even for full coverage.
      I mean people who generally bring up decades past and try to compare their cost of living to today are people who obviously can't do math.
      I mean the point is still taken that regardless people paid it themselves.
      My thing is is everyone is getting way too hung up on the concept but there could be or is it there is he said bail out for those of today that's not the bigger picture the bigger picture is the fact that it's even being debated that the subject is even in the concept of mainstream conversation will that basically means that it's an admission by the system at Large that no you can't realistically make this payments and afford to live on top of it it's basically an admission that we really are going broke so what they did 35 to 45 years ago really does not matter.
      Those days are gone.

      @@American-Motors-Corporation my dad lived in a rebuilt chicken coop when he was in college. He and probably ten people lived on an old farm so I doubt that he even paid $120 a month. He and my mom paid off his college loans and my mom's dad paid her four years off of his life insurance along with her two sisters. They all got together and paid off his land like twenty years later. They still have the farmland but sold the house to a single lawyer with a daughter Almost in high school. The school is right on the edge of the property so it works out well for them.
      I was expected to pay for everything by myself. I worked all summer and it paid off part of my tuition. I had to pay for the rest of it by myself. College was high I thought back then until I heard what kids nowadays are paying. I lived in a cheap place on campus for ten years.

      What, was this college, Bob's unaccredited college?
      In 06 I looked at going to the Newark, Ohio branch of OSU and the dorm cost was $1400 a month! just for the fucking dorm.
      The entire neighborhood in the area of the college was $1500 or more a month.
      Oh and Newark, Ohio is a Podunk ass town.

    In Australia, we also have China seemingly trying to start a war with us. The other day an Australian Naval helicopter was doing a routine flight off a ship in the open ocean (south of China, I think) when a Chinese fighter jet flew a few hundred metres in front of and about thirty metres above the helicopter and released flares right into the helicopter's flight path.
    We can only speculate what their reason was. Personally, given the helicopter's location, being south of China, but still in open ocean, China was probably telling them to bugger off. The helicopter pilot used evasive maneuvers, to avoid the flares.
    At the same time, though, their use of flares seems to be nearly an act of war. Had they dropped actual munitions, it could have set of something far more tragic.

    • @American-Motors-Corporation
      @American-Motors-Corporation 4 місяці тому

      Well civil interest is always around the corner but I would say anymore it depends on what degree of civil unrest are you referring to?
      I mean people have always been generally disgruntled especially with their jobs that doesn't necessarily means and pick axes going.
      People have always been disgruntled with the government the occasional protest there might be the summer of protest but for the most part most people are still attending their job and paying their bills like good little citizens do.
      That's just that if you have enough people with just enough comfort you don't ever get that big uprising that everybody keeps talking about it's there there is the wall you run the risk but chances are you'll never hit the wall simply because not enough people wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat or not enough people wake up in the middle of the night and realize they're broke and they're going to have to go to the street somewhere in the next 90 days when that happens okay you're going to hit the wall and that's when shit hits the fan.
      But I myself don't really look for that open rebellion at this point I think people are still too comfortable.
      It's something they'll talk about over a beer but then they'll usually in the topic discussion with well what are you going to do and then we've got to go to work Monday.

      Well the charade of you and I being taxpayers it's just that it at this point means nothing it's a charade it's to make the system look more legitimate than it really is if anything it also serves to put a cap on our buying power basically one thing that they have learned in the past 4 years is that a lot more people really do save money versus what they want you to believe they don't like the idea that people can sit on a big bunch of money and walk away from their shit job anytime they choose basically they need you to depend on that job even if that job is undependable.
      You being a taxpayer at this point is also political leverage it gives either political party ammunition to sit up there and scream that you were taxpayers to pretend to address you to pretend to acknowledge you and your peers feed off of that what do you think every political pundit that gets up there and talks or politician himself that talks why do you think that in everything they have to say they use the term middle class 50,000 times?
      It's because idiots believe that they really do acknowledge them that they really do care about it's political seat so they call you a taxpayer you scream about being a taxpayer then the politician offers up whatever in conjunction with what's being said about being taxpayers then you go vote according it basically just provides them with another platform to run on.
      Because our taxes don't actually pay for anything if they did we would not have debts and deficits.

      Well what exactly are you referring to?
      Are you talking about the student loan forgiveness?
      Well if you are I will say seemingly up front it doesn't make a difference but on the other hand if these people are kept out of the economy because they have this one debt that they're forever paying then right that means they're not going to go down and buy a house four wheelers another car I mean they're going to be very very limited on what they're going to be able to spend in the economy.
      Like it or not it is the generation that is perhaps a majority I mean every generation has to have a certain amount of buying power at their disposal otherwise you don't have the economy the degeneration had before you can't really keep it going of course I can say that the Boomers and gen xers are about done in the economy not necessarily because of their age but simply because they have already maxed out most of what was given to them in terms of credit etc I know you can argue with the word earn save it.
      Bottom line is you guys was allowed to earn what you did earn simply because it was available for you to earn it we nowadays are arguing it's not there to earn otherwise we would.
      I'm in the jobs today are extremely unreliable it's not that the workers are unreliable, like for instance where I work our jobs every day are in question and on the rocks because of bullshit metrics call times they expect you to handle calls with chatty senior citizens in under 2 to 3 minutes it's not possible no one can meet those fucking standards and then they wonder why they're firing people left and right.
      That's most of the jobs it's not like it was in the 70s 80s or even the '90s for that matter it's not where you can just go get a straight up job do your thing and do it well and go home no that's not what they want they want to micromanage the fuck out of you that's basically everywhere now oh and by the way they're never clear with the rules or procedures of things until something gets fucked up and then one fine day they'll come by and tell you all about how you should have known that and oh by the way it's in their fucking handbook.
      Fuck that oh my God I'd love to have worked in the 70s ashtrays every five fucking feet you could smoke at your post no one was offended by it if you went across the street had a beer for lunch no one gave two shits because they were all doing it and whatever you didn't get done today you did tomorrow.

    • @American-Motors-Corporation
      @American-Motors-Corporation 4 місяці тому

      Oh I totally agree except if they were to quit printing money they would actually have to cut things things that no politician wants to touch with the 10 ft pool yeah you can talk about your entitlement programs but they would also be forced into making military cuts big military cuts they can't do that certainly not with plans that they have of nation building in every other country but here.
      To be honest if we put the money where it belonged and that is literally on roads and most of our general infrastructure and we allowed it industry in the free market to make up the rest I think we would be fine that is the original recipe of America.
      What that would mean is technically lower taxes because you would only then be paying for what you need and you would actually be paying for me whereas now your local taxes technically pay for things but your federal taxes and arguably in your state taxes don't pay for shit this is why we have debts and deficits we would have no need to borrow if our taxes actually paid bills it doesn't this is why we are deficit spending to the tune of $2 trillion dollars a year.

      @American-Motors-Corporation 4 місяці тому

      Well it really is I can say that my old profession but I got out of high school was ruined by colleges and that was mechanic.
      And I saw some of these people coming out of these fucking technical colleges they couldn't even tell me what the difference between a limited slip rear end and positraction rear end was.
      I would straight up ask them what the fuck are they teaching you in there?
      Yeah I'm in basically it didn't take 10 minutes for me and most of my class in high school we went to vacational school for the last two years but it didn't take us 10 minutes to figure out that that joint had become nothing more than a major advertisement for technical college they were still going to teach you a bunch of stuff and if you're instructors were any good probably more than just a textbook crap we had decent instructors of course most of us signed up for said classes we had already been messing with this shit even as kids.
      But I will say that it also didn't take us very long to figure out that in this profession of mechanic 98% of the time you're going to work for Bob down at Bob's garage and Bob is not going to pay you any more than he legally has to pay you could be worth 10 bucks but he only May pay you seven and a quarter and of course I know everybody wants to have a big cry fest over small businesses just because of business is small does not mean that they don't have the money nor the means to pay people I know I owned two small businesses at one point.
      Kind of like people want to cry poverty when it comes to the poor American farm well I can save their job is definitely got perhaps a bit more difficult in some respects with all the regulations but I can also say that now they're not poor the vast majority that I grew up with their parents and they themselves drove brand new fucking trucks brand new fucking cars and their parents were worth over a million dollars in stock and these people would freely discuss it in fact if you needed stock advice those were your guys to go to in the countryside.
      So everybody gets this big dumbass ideas it just because it's a small shop they don't make any money to pay employees and that's not true now you have to take it on a Case by case basis I mean businesses and to Cash cow like some people think but here's the bitch I mean if you're charging most of your customers a full hours labor for what a lot of the times can be hardly a 15 minute job which is standard practice in that business and your hourly rate is literally over $70 yeah I think you can afford to pay your fucking wrench Turners.
      So the corporate mechanic jobs did everybody used to have a shot at especially if you had any considerable experience those were wiped out immediately once they really started to double down on the technical college mechanic schools that those guys got first crack and everything and then if it just so happened that who's a hired was of your age group and that person didn't work out for whatever reason then that person unintentionally fucked it up for the rest of your age group you were not going to get it one bad experience with one or two young people and everybody shut their doors.
      Of course my thing is if there is that particular which a lot of are you don't really want to work there anyway they're assholes so we didn't we left we found another profession.

    The question how many job postings are fraudulent. They just post them, hire someone pre determined or never intended to hire anyone.

    • @American-Motors-Corporation
      @American-Motors-Corporation 4 місяці тому

      Well as a former manager I can certainly say that a lot of the job postings really are fake unfortunately they're mostly there to gather information when you apply for a job you are giving them all of your information they sit on that information sometimes they also sell that information in fact they sell it more than what people know that's part of the reason why they're always accepting applications.
      Another reason why they're always accepting applications is simply because they're paid to do so basically the work opportunity tax credit has seen to it that they may periodically hire an extra person but they're only keeping that person for 120 hours just long enough to collect tax credit.
      This is why the help wanted signs never came down last decade it's not because they can't find people it's simply they don't really want people but what they do want to do is periodically make up a job and collect the government tax credit.
      Of course there is a little bit of some employers do have trouble getting or keeping people and most that is because the employer's had that the other side of Rona the economy would just get worse and worse and worse and people would be so desperate that they would do like they did in the 1930s and they would settle for pennies on a dollar that all the sudden just having a job becomes more important than exactly how much it really yields you in terms of actual money frankly that mindset is well within the population and all of it got started 16 years ago with the rise of the work ethic propaganda that whole false religion of work ethic has made people so willing to do about anything that half these motherfuckers would willingly work for nothing so employers made the bet towards the last of Verona that the other side of it things would be so bad they could devalue the jobs even more and pay less.
      I saw it coming and told nearly everyone I know about it some of those people understood it right away cuz they seen what I seen others it took them literally two years to get it for them to look around and realize that jobs don't pay what they used to this is what the employers have been the problem is coming out of 2020 I had said it's the wrong that place because people aren't like they were in the 1930s they might be stupid and docile about certain things but when it comes to the money that they're going to bring home every week no I'm afraid they're not really that stupid mathematics doesn't lie you have to have X amount for the rent and the utilities and we've crossed the threshold that says chances are you're not going to have that meaning the job is pointless to most people so most people don't stick around they leave they try to find something better and of course A lot of these companies they don't get it they're sitting there wanting to pay a shit wage and practically demand that people need to come in there and just take the mentality that they should shut the fuck up and just take the pennies of course this comes from so many years of employers being able to get away with that shit the system does not like the fact that a lot of people would assume to willingly be homeless rather than fucking bow down to this shit.
      That I believe is what is truly behind Trump's homeless camps it's not necessarily just a Roundup of the homeless it's primarily going to end up being work camps that they're going to figure out how many of these people they can use as free and or cheap labor and of course they're threatened with jail time he already delayed that out a lot of them would probably assume to take jail time of course we don't know really what then would go on behind closed doors of the jail because we are not really privy to it we think that we're told what happens in those places but on the other hand there's all kinds of gruesome shit that is reported all the time by the inmates the problem is simply the inmates are there because they most likely were not trustworthy and they did bad things so it's a bit hard for people to actually believe them.
      Fundamentally I would say that the entire economic system is busted point on inflation that you're never out running it and it's always going to be announced that if you do this it's going to cause inflation if you do that it's going to cause inflation and that's simply because they will see to it that it causes inflation used to be that wages could go up in a town and the grocery store did not immediately pile on to try to grab those extra dollars that people are now earning used to be the prices would hang out at the same prices not anymore now three factories in a 20 mi radius happens to dual out a dollar raise all the groceries know it by lunch time and the prices start creeping up within a week you notice a difference within two weeks oh yeah it's full-fledged price scout it's not that they really have to raise price it's that they're purposely going after every last dollar they can get their hands on so every time people get a raise it causes inflation when it really shouldn't.
      Basically we've been in the phase of the last mad dash for cash for quite some time I would say that that's played out pretty well here in the past 16 to 17 years it's pretty much now you have a couple of different camps you have the camp that 100% goes after it it all costs these are the people that will walk around and brag about working on godly amounts of hours you know they think they're doing the Lord's work by working so many hours and then they talk about the money that they stack.
      Of course the wealthy people definitely chase after it.
      Then you have the other camp the other camp is primarily weak hair but only so much we care basically enough to maintain what it is we're up to knowing that any day we can lose it all so you could argue that it's kind of the bare minimum club but it's really not it's yeah we'll save for those extra things and we might do a little more perhaps even a side job to get a little extra money going if we need it but for the most part the camp is primarily it's practically worthless pursuing it for right now our wages might be okay to pay the bills but we don't know what happens in 6 months to a year down the road and frankly we kind of don't give a fuck we are just sick of the never ending pursuit of never enough money that's basically what that camp is so you have those the chase after it and those that do not care to chase after it here's the bitch the system has always been reliant on those that are willing to chase after it when people lose interest because it becomes so blatantly obvious it didn't matter what the fuck you do you're never rising above this shit all the sudden they're incentives basically the carrots that they dangle in front of you mean nothing because most of those carrots you cannot achieve anyway one of which is home ownership so all the sudden people quit giving a fuck about that people quit establishing that as their goal someone who accused that it's lowering the bar that it's lowering everyone's expectations well it's not it's just being realistic with what your expectations are and it doesn't take very long to determine that your expectations are basically you expect nothing but shit.
