If you're planning an RV trip to Australia or New Zealand, we loved our Maui campervan!

We're sharing every aspect of our 2,700-kilometer drive from the Great Barrier Reef to Sydney. We'll compare the systems on our campervan to North American RVs, experience a mix of Holiday Parks and "Free Camping" and of course we'll feature the famous beauty and hospitality of Oz.

Full-Time RVers since April, 2003, we share DIY (do it yourself) RV maintenance, repair, travel, upgrade and operational tips & tricks.
Many RVers are eager to learn more about using, maintaining and caring for their rigs. We hope our experience can help others go DIY, saving time & money, plus the satisfaction of a job well done.
We're handy RVers, not professional technicians. We're happy with the techniques and products we use, but be sure to confirm that all methods and materials you use are compatible with your equipment and abilities. Regardless of what we recommend, consult a professional if you're unsure about working on your RV. What a fabulous adventure. You guys are tremendous!
What an adventure. Sure enjoying following!!
Great narrative voice.
I'd like to eventually visit Australia.
Nice to see your journey on video, thanks for sharing! It's fun for me to see it from your perspective as Americans in Oz, as it would never occur to me to highlight the shopping trolley drives differently! LOL Safe travels :)
+RVLove | Marc & Julie Bennett Us Canadian-Americans have never seen a shopping cart / trolley without fixed rear wheels. lol
how fun.... nice rv too....thanks for the tour
It's funny, I've lived in the USA for almost 30 years and went back to England last year for the first time. Picked up a tiny rental car with stick shift at Heathrow and hit the traffic. Within 30 minutes it was if I'd never been away.
+Bob Green It's not as bad as we expected, but now we're worried we'll drive on the left when we get home. LOL
I look forward to watching your videos from Australia! Safe travels guys!
Looks like so much fun. You're having a great time I'm sure. I can't wait to see more!
+RVwithTito Thanks Brian! Fantastic place. Can't wait to share more.
A trip with this much advanced planning sounds epic. I've heard of Fly & Drive vacations before, but this takes the concept to a whole new level. Hope you get a chance to spend time in Sydney and 'The Rocks'.
I and others can try to console ourselves with virtual 360 tours: www.australia.com/en-us in-lieu of the real thing.
A well deserved holiday for you both, safe travels, and thanks for sharing...
it's all ready 223 Tuesday there
+Kevin Erickson Yeah... It's tomorrow here already. Anybody in the States interested in tomorrow's winning lottery numbers? ;-)

This is beautiful ... so many miles away from home, and one speak the same language !? ok continue to have fun guys!
enjoy this time!!! 💃 💃
👈👈👈 🚗。。。。。。😂😂😂
+Eusepio1957 It may be the same language, but we sure have to listed intently to understand it through the accents sometimes! G'Day Mate!!! :)
The last couple of years we've taken family trips to the UK and I had to drive couple large (9 passenger) vans with 6-speed manual transmissions (shifting with my left hand). We covered about 4,000 miles on those trips, some of which were on terrifyingly narrow roads. Over-all, though I really enjoyed the challenge of it. Hope you enjoy your experience. :)
+Dan Haug I'm a total spaz with my left hand, and grateful that we have an automatic!
Enjoy you trip! Please let us know what you think about the systems on the RV's down under compared to our North American systems. Been looking at putting together a small motor home built on a common Fiat chassis here in Greece but importing most everything from the UK and Germany since very little is available here in the way of DIY suppliers. Find the toilet cassette systems interesting in design but curious about odors and ease in emptying and cleaning.
Drive Safe!
+Subgunman We'll be sure to feature all the major systems in upcoming videos. Stay tuned!
I'm curious what you think about driving and living in a Sprinter-based B class RV (particularly in contrast to driving your much larger A class). Full-timing in a B class requires a lot of compromises You've lost a lot of space and perhaps some creature comforts but it's hard to argue with better mileage and being able to park and camp in a wider variety of places.
+Golan Klinger We know that some people full time in Class B rigs, but we could never manage it. We're really happy to be able to fit anywhere, including most normal parking spaces. But it's still a space compromise, even for a three week trip. But we're doing great and having a blast!
we rented campers twice in Aus. once from Sydney and once from Cairns (c'mon, pronounce it properly "cans"). great fun driving on the wrong side of the road, especially with a manual transmission. looking forward to more videos.
+Jack MacDonald CANS it is! :) Still happy that we got an automatic though. :) Lots more videos on the way!
Another interesting video! thumb up.
The first time I visited Australia, I used Maui too. I plumped for the large 6 berth Lux model though. I'm definitely going to check out the gobycamper page though as I am currently planning another trip there soon!
+Diefers Dashcam UK Channel Thanks for showing us how to use a cassette toilet!
+Diefers Dashcam UK Channel Thanks for showing us how to use a cassette toilet!
Now you know how easy you guys have it with the black tank! That's why the cassette has the nick name 'Bucket n Chucket'
A new adventure begins! I can't wait for all the video up dates. I am wondering however, how are Nikki and Jason going to make a cameo appearance during this trip? That must be why they're looking at sea going vessels. ;) Bon Voyage!!
+Bob Cannon It's a good thing they're not here, Bob, or we'd be mad at your for spoiling the surprise! Or ARE they here? ;-)
mmmmm ... The plot, it is thickening, yes?
welcome to Australia guys :)
I remember when I first rode as a passenger in an RHD car. I was in England with my parents. We were visiting family on my father's side. It felt weird at first, riding on the left side of the car, with no steering wheel to steer. I remember saying to myself "oh shit! What the hell am I doing on this *side* of the car? Shouldn't *I* be driving? Why is there no steering wheel in front of me?"
I kept going to get into the "passenger" side, and the driver had to wait for me to realize that that was *his* seat, and walk around to the other side. LOL
@@RVgeeks I wanted to get on the right side of the car, but then I saw that the steering wheel was there. I realized that I was in the correct side of the car. But it did feel weird. I quickly got used to it. And in fact enjoyed the experience. I wish I had a chance to actually drive while we were in England.
hope you enjoy it out here mate ! and get use to driving on the proper side of the road ! lol have fun passing the road trains , and watch out for all that fun wild life on the road as well
+david heath Thanks David! We love your country a lot!
Congrats guys. That looks like a true adventure. Looking forward to the vids.
+Grevlain It's absolutely the trip of a lifetime. More videos coming as soon as we can make time to edit all the footage we're shooting!
Have fun and drive carefully!
Safe travels down there! Still can't get enough of your videos!
+HaplessLee Thanks Lee! We have so much more to share. Stay tuned!
Wow. if I was still full timing I'd totally do that. but the snow is going (it was gone for a week and is snowing all,day now) and its time to work for the summer. next winter I would like to try that once I'm full timing again.
+Randy Bobandy Coming during US summer is better weather here down under..... it's hot right now! We came during the off-season (or at least the shoulder season) despite the heat to allow us the freedom to get into caravan parks at will without reservations. Our plan is working, but it's very tropical here!
+RVgeeks Where do you leave your home on wheels while you're on vacation ?
very nice geeks
I don't think I could drive there. been waiting on your video.
+Kevin Erickson More videos coming Kevin! We've been so busy exploring, experiencing, driving and videoing that we've barely been able to find a minute to edit video! Stay tuned. We promise there's lots more to come.
We cant wait! We will be doing a 2 week tour around New Zealand in a RV in May!
+Watson On Wheels The next time we visit NZ will be by campervan. It looks awesome!
Nice, I am sure we'll get the fever before you upload too many more videos!
I didn't know you guys got married.. Congrats!! Great Vid BTW :)
+phillip cyr Thanks Phillip! This trip is actually our 20th anniversary celebration. 😊
