If they just changed it to 1-month and closed it on July 31st so it also would allow teams to have their players prior to the seasons beginning.

Manu Koné has been pretty good for the French Olympics team. I don't think it's a terrible alternative to Fofana. But honestly I am with management, a free transfer of Fofana is not a bad idea and seems realistic.
No way we are able to sign Fofana on a free. If he stays beyond this summer at Monaco, he / his agent will ask for big commission which we will not pay but another team will. That same thing has already happened so many times.

Personally, I would have patched Fofana after 2 weeks of negotiations. I don't understand why they don't go for Amrabat. Zlatan has stated in the past that he likes the player, he has Serie A experience, Fiorentina value him at €15m and he's the kind of player that Milan would go for because he's struggled in the past 2 seasons but in the right set-up can make a difference. (Same as the signings of Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic)
