FYI TO ALL, the HOLIDAY UPDATE will BREAK the sync of the HEATED SEATS CONTROL in this display with the main display. What I mean is, the rear display will still work and turn on the heated seats, BUT if you go on the main display and go to the rear HVAC controls it will show all the seats (no matter which you turned on from the rear display) as ALL OFF. AND THEN, if you then touch one of the rear seat heat FROM THE MAIN DISPLAY, it will override whatever you had on in the rear, and change to what you selected on the main screen. But what you do from the MAIN SCREEN, will sync properly in the rear. BUT AGAIN, NO LONGER VICE VERSA, the rear WONT SYNC with the front screen status. This both worked properly BEFORE THE HOLIDAY UPDATE. So the rear display manufacturer must do a software/firmware update to theirs. It still works, but now feels sloppy to not sync up properly.
Good to know, will be looking for something else
@@Holt0216 none of the reviewers of this product have addressed this issue even after being posted on several channels. The sellers website that have QA and reviews also are not approving posts regarding it too.

And do you have any issues with connecting to an iPhone hotspot from the rear display?

Hi, do u have link down for update firmware and bootlogo your brand of the screen? And have you tried connecting wifi hotspot with iphone 15 pro? Mine doesn’t connect with any iPhone 15 hotspot 😢!
I have same issue with this same screen. I use to be able to connect it to iPhone hotspot but since iOS 17.3 I no longer can. Not sure if device has old WiFi chip. I am able to connect to home WiFi and iPhone running older iOS like 17.2 I hope someone finds the solution.
Have a model Y 2023 September build in China RWD . Import to Australia RHD .Are you saying there is no OBD CAN plug in the rear under the vent?
Im not sure about RWD China built Model Y. I think it’s best for you to actually check in the rear center console and open up the panel then see if there is a 26 OBD plug there before ordering the display.

You can try to the main setting menu and reboot the display.

Yes, it has built in speakers.
You can also connect the display to the car’s speakers via Bluetooth

How did you manage to get the part back in place covering the obd connector + part that goes inbetween? I tried it today but there is no space to place the extra part and cover it up
I just tried to manage it and lay it as flat as possible then put cover back on.
If you had difficult time putting it back on I would take time to manage the plug and cable before putting the cover back on.

@@dadstoyscarsOk I’ll try again tomorrow :-). My kit came with an extra harness to route to the front and connect it to the Autopilot computer there. Apparantly more future proof, they found some models had no OBD connector under the rear vent. My MIG November Model Y still has it though.

how does this operate when you dont want to use it. Can you turn off the display? how is the battery drain. I dont think any video has ever addressed these things or showed it.
There is a button to manually turn off the display when you don’t need it.
It doesn’t use that much energy from the battery to affect the range.

Does this switch to a “night mode” when the headlights are on?
It doesn’t change automatically with the car but you can manually change from white to dark mode in the setting menu.

this is a niche product, if you find it please post about it. It would be nice if someone found out a more polished program or updated launcher. It looks nice as is, but definitely not as refined once playing around with it. Dont think there is a day light savings for the time, there is no auto off. You can go to the android settings to enable display idle off, but once you enable that and the screen does go off, it wont turn on unless you reenter car, and by then you cant disable it anymore, as setting was null prior and max setting is 30 mins. Would need a double tap to wake feature.

Serious question: What’s the advantage of getting this instead of a better, cheaper and better placed tablet since it’s not even integrated to Tesla ?
You would get rear climate adjustment, rear passengers heated seat adjustment, basic audio controls, front passenger seat controls, over the iPad.

@@dadstoyscarsok the only real benefit is the rear heated seat adjustment. You better get a better tablet with a headrest holder. You can get this for much cheaper and prevent neck pain to your kids.

the holiday update breaks the sync for temperature. if you change from the rear screen, front screen won't change the temperature. but if you change from the main front screen then the rear screen shows the change.
I couldn't figure out if the sync is broken only or it don't even change the temprature.
another interesting thing I found that my unit came with an internal speaker. the sound is not that good but if you look inside the air vent section, there is an internal speaker and of you don't connect it to any audio source, in my test it played the audio from the Netflix movie.
FINALLY someone else who confirms it. Did you see me post a similar comment too? I posted this on all the videos who review this, and none of the authors comment or addressed it. Who wants to bad mouth what they got free or paid to advertise right? To answer your question, it still works though and turns on the heated seat from the rear display despite not syncing and showing on the main screen, but when you change it on the main screen it will override the rear, yet will sync the rear display. I BET YOU THEY DONT DO AN OTA UDPATE lol. All the reviews hype up OTA, and NOW is the time to showcase it, but I bet they dont. The internal speaker yes is included. I dont think its bad for what it is, it was clear despite not loud, didnt sound distorted or too underpowered for its size. It's welcomed. Nice bonus.

Yes, I did read your review and agree that is broken. I've contacted both Hansshow and TMA and none have any software update for it as of this minute that I'm writing this review. I don't believe the people who review on UA-cam are at fault. they are very helpful and answering questions to the best of their knowledge. this is a software issue and they only one at fault is Hansshow or TMA for not upgrading their products.
@@moialder252 Hey I'm glad you're pointing out issues with this unit. Can you let me know if you can hotspot to an iPhone? No matter what I try this rear display will not get an IP address from my iPhone hotspot. Even with maximum compatibility on. Resetting network settings on my iPhone doesn't resolve the issue.
Also can you try to sign into youtube TV? When I try to sign in it never lets me add the account and signs in. There are two versions you can download from the built in APKPure app but both version of the UA-cam TV app do not work. One of the actually says google play services is needed but it is already installed and up to date.
@@moialder252 Any solution found? As mentioned below your comments in other video reviews of this device; this issue is still there for me (wifi version). For me also the temperature setting is not syncing (the same issue; someone can change the temperature from the back seat and it will change the temperature in the car but the main display will not show this temperature (change)). I contacted the seller and received an update file from the seller which I installed from a USB drive; this update file did however not resolve any of the sync issues.
The OTA is indeed an hoax, despite the promise for OTA I understood there are none... The most recent Android security update is from November 2022.
And indeed, all reviewers are responding to every comment except the comments about these bugs...
@@MiloOo1982 nope, no solution. given up. the just add the OTA feature as a trick. the reviewers get these free or heavily discounted so they wont address it. Hardware wise its a fine unit for the price. The look/feel matches well and built good IMO. the software though is 5/10.
I played around with a vehicle who has this. But theirs has BUILT IN SPEAKER! But I mean its literally the same thing, I compared the video to this product. So very cool. It's android 13, exact same GUI, etc.
Can you give a link to the screen on android 13 with a speaker? All the screens with android 13 and 6125 processor I find do not have a built in speaker.
@@stefan_7979 this channel will probably block/delete any comments about purchasing from other vendors but the one they are reviewing for. just google it and you should run into them. They are all the same and look like the one in the video. They come in 2 trims, one with silver trim to match the front console silver trim around the slider, and black like in the vid. same internals, same software, etc. Some companies will modify the boot logo.
Can this or any aftermarket rear screen mirror your phone to it.
This display has mirroring function.

It uses 3.5W to power the display.

@@dadstoyscars Are you 100% positive. Can you try again? Because whether I choose maximum compatibility or not this rear display android device just will not get an IP address from my iPhone. I even reset my network settings on my iPhone and tried it again.
@@djb85 All I had to do was turned on WiFi hotspot on my phone and use the display connect to my phone via WiFi
I think the seat may have been modified for 2023 model. I didn’t see a T20 but a hex screw which is impossible to access as there’s an extra metal bar behind it.
My Model y is also 2023.
You would have to move the seat at the highest position first in order to access the screw.

I see Handsshow and TMA both advertise the exact same display. at least from the physical design of it. is there any difference between them?
They are the exact same. There is an OEM in china who makes them, with MAYBE another variation of it, but I think only variation is one that supports sim card support that I have yet anyone to talk or confirm they have in the USA. So short answer, all the same. It comes down to the company: hansshow, TMA, etc who imports it, calls it their own and what price they decide to sell it for.

Good question. I didn’t really test that yet.
I think it would be on sleep mode which you can adjust in the settings.

@@dadstoyscars can you check? One benefit of the previous Linux version is it uses rear seat sensor to turn it on. However it has a setting where it goes to sleep after 5 minutes of no use

No it doesnt. this would have to be a setting in that launcher skin running on top of android 13. YOU CAN however go to the android settings, and search setting and type in display. There you will see a setting to turn off display after inactivity. AND THIS WORKS........... BUT, once it goes to sleep, there is no way to turn the screen back on. Tapping it wont, etc. Because it thinks its a phone, and you need to press power or a physical button which this doesnt have. So unfortunately still a broken feature. The only way to turn it on again is to turn off car and on again, BUT by this time, if you go back to the setting to disable it, there is no way to disable it, you can only select up to 30 mins. When they set this up the setting was null so it wouldnt turn off. So you would have to go into some deep dive android editing, or you have to use the "reset" setting.

Does this void any kind of warranty
You would only void warranty on the parts that you replace or remove from your car.
In this case would your rear air vent but if you put it in the future I don’t think Teala would know.
