my bottom bracket has the Shimano Number BB-LP26. This model is quite old (about 20 years). How to find replacement nowadays? cant find this type anymore. should i overhaul the old one instead of getting a new replacement?
Read the writing on the shell of the bottom bracket. There will be shell width (usually 68 but read what you have) then the spindle length measure the overall length of the bottom bracket (somewhere between 103 and 123 on todays cartridge style BB). Then there is the thread pitch english (most common) or italian (rare and on italian made or inspired frames).
