What this pandemic (a world-wide event) has taught me, is how only about half of the American population will make a concerted effort into protecting each other after an outbreak and the other half will spend all of their energy trying to prove that the emergency is fake. Other countries didn't seem this divided. God forbid we ever have a deadlier virus in the future.

My husband and I are in our late 60’s and contracted Covid last weekend. Both of us were very sick, even though we had our vaccines but I was the only one who had to go to the hospital. They treated me and I was able to go home with meds. I’m sure both of us would have been a lot sicker if we hadn’t had our vaccines. I almost lost my husband last year with a bacteria infection in his lungs. He was in the hospital for a month. I’m sure Covid would have taken him without vaccines. My husband had gotten lax with wearing his mask because of everyone saying Covid is over. It’s not.-Susan

Go look at Africa the US had 5x the deaths while Africa has 4x the population and had only 12% vaccinated by mid 2022. The vaccine had little if any effect on Africa because by mid 2022 it was already pretty much over.
It is truly a polerizing topic and for good reason.
I live in Canada and we have one of the highest levels of vaccination in the world, in large part due to the savere restrictions imposed on unvaccinated people's ability to socialize or seek employment. I ultimately had to trust the authorities and get double vaccinated so I could get a job that I desperately needed after my business was shut down at the start of the pandemic.
I have since gone to great lengths to find reliable data on the effects of the specific RNA vaccines and the unavoidable facts that keeps showing up are simply that RNA type vaccines are inherently flawed, the adverse affects have been grossly under reported and the health authorities around the world have taken on similar characteristics to those that have corrupted many social justice movements. Essentially starting out from a place of necessity but as they push for greater awareness, far too many bad actors and people looking for a cause / identity are aloud to jump on board. Then their egos and sense of righteousness takes over the whole movement. I know I am over simplifying the depth of deceipt and reckless abandon that has followed but it is like two people arguing and one of them gets emotional and will not recognize the truth no matter how much evidence is shown to them...
I am Canadian too and have had 5 Pfizer COVID vaccine shots and no problems. I actually lined up four of my shots when PM Trudeau took the vaccine live on camera.😂

My 35 y/o brother didn't get vaccinated, contracted what seemed to be a mild case of C19 which turned into Long Covid. His quality of life is diminishing with no answers in sight.

Perhaps it's time to retell this story. In 2020 I was one of those "essential workers" who couldn't work from home and who had to stay out there in the world, risking exposure to a still mysterious virus.
My memory of Fauci is hearing his voice on the radio as I was driving around in my car on eerily empty city streets. I don't view him as a hero as some seem to, he was just a voice on the radio helping me understand what was going on.
He was more of a symbol. When I listened to him I understood that there were hundreds of thousands of scientists and other medical professionals working on this problem. When I heard him I saw the rest of them in my mind.
I can't help but feel a bit bitter about this story. To me he is a symbol of humanity working together to face a common threat. I was doing everything I could to not spread the virus, to slow it down to give them more time to work on the problem. Meanwhile a vile minority in this country what's working to oppose all of that. When we were facing a challenge the only thing they could think to do was to sabotage all of the efforts. All they could do is act like spoiled children and reflexively oppose what responsible people were doing.
And when they couldn't get their sick little thrill from putting other people's lives at risk, they send in the death threats instead. Because that's all they have anymore. They instinctively hate people who behave like responsible adults, and apparently since they've given up ever being one themselves the only thing they can do is attack other people who are reaponsible.

Dr. Fauci was always sincere in his effort to give guidance according to the data he had at the time. He never claimed to be all knowing. He is a man of science who cares deeply about the people he serves. He deserves our respect - not threats and hostility. I am ashamed of every single person who has singled him out for verbal assaults, threats, and intimidation. 🤨
He funded the lab which leaked the virus. He also was responsible for allowing the AIDS epidemic to reach to horrific numbers they reached in the 80s.
Covid was a new and rapidly out of control virus which few in any people on the planet had specific experience with. Dr Fauci and the CDC and every other first world country did and advocated for mitigating actions that had been proven helpful in previous outbreaks of new viral strains (ie: influenzas). Then we had uneducated politicians and business leaders more concerned with the financial consequences and disruption of their life as they know it. Then when actual safe and effective vaccines were being rolled out, these same moronic politicians then started discouraging people from the vaccines which are notably as safe if not safer than any other vaccine. Countless lives would have been spared if only our 'leaders (?)' listened to the people that have dedicated their entire lives to preventions and mitigation of the spread of diseases.

As such, Fauci's claim that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was not engaging in gain of function research of concern in its experiments with novel bat coronaviruses is patently false. Yes, Fauci is very intelligent, but it's clear that, in this particular case, he is also disingenuous, something that does society as a whole no good, because if such irresponsible research is allowed to continue, we may end up with another global pandemic, possibly one even worse than the present one.

I live in Japan, and contracted Covid this month on the ninth, had a few really lousy days, and am still recovering. I'm over sixty with asthma and heart problems, but I had prompt treatment and fortunately, no major damage that I can tell. The only vaccine shots I had were in 2021, and if I hadn't had those, I think my symptoms would've been far worse.
Dr. Fauci is not perfect, but his advice was and is sound, and he was and is, AFAIC, a Godsend to the medical community. That a person who's dedicated his life to helping others is getting death threats shows just how far the US has tipped (in some areas) into madness.
My son lives in Tokyo with his beautiful wife and new baby. I feel that they are safer there. I wish you a speedy recovery. I got it last Christmas. I remain boosted.

I just out of Covid. I took 6 vaccines in Total. I visited several days in the hospital, appointments with the doctors, and the blood test center and on September 1 I talked with a doctor via phone about my visit to do the test. the same night I found that I had a high fever and sneezing heavily even before the fever. Asked the Pharmacy to send a test Kit and tested positive. I have still a cough now and then after 3 weeks. after getting covid emailed to my GP what to do. He wrote me 6 of patients already suffering from COVID-19. COVID was here all last 3 years and went down, but again increasing. I always were masks last 3 years.
Perhaps if you had not been vaccinated, you would have had much more severe infection. The disease is changing all the time, with new strains occurring quite frequently. Nobody claimed the vaccine gives 100% protection. It is good you took steps to protect yourself.

There is a reason antibiotics lose effectiveness when taken multiple times in a row and can actually cause harm.
That is why doctors rotate antibiotics and after two or three rotations they generally tell you to drink plenty of water, rest, and eat healthy.
Meanwhile BigPharma was telling people to get multiple shots and companies were giving out free junk food with proof of vaccination.
I even read articles a couple years ago from supposedly trusted sources (according to Reuters fact checkers) that stated it was normal for young children to have heart attacks, warm showers can cause heart attacks, exercise can cause heart attacks, etc... It's as if heart attacks are being normalized and this became a thing after the experimental mRNA shots were released.

Complicated subjects get complicated answers, and if the American people can't stand to watch and listen to a longer answer to a complicated question, then we are all in trouble. I really think dumbing down subjects like this in the media is part of the reason we're in this predicament. It should be mentioned that in Europe the vaccines are not really just for people over a certain age, but you can get boosted if you want to at any time. Since I go out a lot I kept my protection up all the time to make sure I won't become sick and shed more virus myself. Next week I'll get my 3rd booster (one infection delayed me by half a year) and many people in Europe just do it on their own. So this should not be compared to a society where nobody does anything unless it directly benefits himself or just to put others down in any imaginable way.
And before some nut comes around: I have never been living more healthy then since I got my first vaccine. And its not a feeling, its actually what is happening. 3 sick days in a company where calling in sick has absolutely no repercussions and 5-6 days sports per week, probably each of those days more then most people do in a week. My brother who refused to get vaccinated and always used to be the stronger one of us and who is also self employed (so he has a strong incentive to not work only if he is really sick) is constantly sick for the past 3 years.

I have long Covid! While my first Covid was only the loss of my sense of smell and taste, and a minor nasal infection! Nothing else!
I went to El Paso Texas one year ago and I was so sick that my symptoms were so bad, it nearly killed me! I was known to be strong and healthy! I have no recall of a couple weeks! I still get twinges in my muscles and it sometimes feels like I am being tased! I used to have twitching, but since I started taking magnesium and potassium, the twinges and twitching has stopped! The sharp taser like pain has happened occasionally when I stopped taking magnesium and potassium! So I keep taking it ! It’s a necessary to stay on it or I also get muscle spasms so tight in my feet and legs so pain I couldn’t walk!
I also battle a nasal infection all the time now! Like bad allergies!
I also had a fogginess for a while , that was as if I was not in my own body! I fought to live! I have 10 children and so many adoptees! And I have 17 grandchildren!
I have a lot of absolutely great friends ! I yearned to see them all and was determined to get well but I am not all the way there!
I did get Covid again when I got back home! It was more like a bad cold, but not like that in which I had in Texas! That time I got the live virus! I feel like it helped some! But the treatment, I couldn’t get !
