- 2010 Audi A5 Review featuring a Prestige model with 150k miles. The Audi A5 is a stunning looking coupe that has a timeless look. The 2010 Audi A5 in my review has a 2.0l turbo four-cylinder engine. See my Audi S7 Review here: • 2015 Audi S7 Sportback...
The Audi A5 also came in a convertible model and even a 4 door Sportback as well. The A5 I reviewed has a four-cylinder although, a 3.2l V6 is also available. The four-cylinder is the only way to get a 6-speed manual transmission.

I am interested in buying an Audi, but have been warned that the maintenance will be crazy. I already know that the turbo needs to be changed. Any advice or suggestions?
I got an audi a5 2014 with about 105,000 miles...goes through a lot of oil but thats the only thing to watch.
I also have a 2010 a5 with about 145K Miles. Have had it for about 5 years and surprisingly its been the most reliable car I have owned.
Have you needed to make any repairs? If so, can you please tell me what they were?
@@kylelangley8818 thanks! Appreciate the advice! How do you find specialists? Is there a list somewhere on the site?
Same here I own a 2010 2.0tdi sportback s.line hit 145k miles this morning owned it for over 5 years absolutely amazing reliable car,
@@markdavies7154 automatic transmission?
Hey, just wondering what other brands / models have you owned that were worse? I'm hesitant on an A5 due to the reputation they have for repairs and costs
These A5's are some of the most beautiful coupes of all time. There's a substantial reason for it. The lead designer has stated that he lost sleep designing it to be as perfect as he could.
And he did a great job!
He change the game for Audi back in fall 2007 LED running lights, practical interior, sharp lines. He also designed the first gen R8 which came out early 2007 to public.
Audi started LED trend in industry like design of headlights.
it is so beautiful....one of the most beautiful cars ever made under 100k
I have owned a 2011 A5 for 7 years now and it's been amazingly reliable. Other than the oil consumption issue, the car runs very smooth and is good on gas. I just can't get over how beautiful this car looks. It's the main thing that make me pull the trigger back in Dec. 2014. Every time I walked away from it, I always have to turn around and look at it. That stance is just awesome.
i had the same issue , but in 2018 the dealer did the recall on my 2011 for free since i was under 80k,
Dude I still do the same thing its still one of the coolest looking things on the road to this day !
How many miles
What did you use to fix the oil consumption
Hi, you have an oil consumption issue? Just wondering because my 2011 a5 also seems to drink oil. Did you find a problem causing it? Mine seems fine but just goes through oil.
It is a timeless design. I own a 2007 2.7tdi with 100k miles on it and I always look back at the car after I've parked up!
haha I know that feeling :) I do that with my 2007 mazda 5
Haha I thought it was just me that turned back! Mine is a 2010 TFSI Cabrio

Glad you found value with it my friend!
I really like 2 door cars. & been saving up for a car & this video proved to me that this audi is worth it for the price. Can't go wrong with this model it's a beautiful car. Thanks for your review.
Those wheels are fkn dope for a 10 yr old Audi... Ahead of the game as usual, them 4 circles
I def agree looks incredible for sure!
Agreed, these have always been my favorite wheels for any manufacturer of all time, they are stunning, they look great rolling and are ageless. Audi's have always produced some of the best looking rim designs!
Agreed, part of the reason I bought my blue 3.0 TDI A5 a few years ago. Had them painted a darker colour and because I keep it pristine and people are stunned it’s a 2010, people think they it is much newer.
Excellent review and this is one of my favourite Audis ever! Thank you Kevin!

Have an ‘09 3.2 A5. Had it since new and hasn’t missed a beat. Great car and will keep it until retirement. Only ever had to do regular maintenance. Only hiccup was a reset on the side assist module which was warranty and done in 1 hour.
As an Audi owner with a DSG gearbox, like most the A5s, if you turn off the traction control the engine and gear shifts becomes more of a beast even in the normal drive mode and in the sports mode, but obviously you have to take more care while driving with the traction control off
I’ve had a 2009 3.2L for 6 months now and it’s the smoothest driving car I’ve ever owned. Response is a little delayed like the 2.0L but the Quattro AWD is unmatched.
2024 now is the car I’m trying to buy one use it already has 154k miles what you think
The 2013 - 2016 versions worked out most if not all of the bugs. Drives really smooth for under $13K depending on mileage and options.

You mentioned about warranty. What is the third party warranty that you recommend? Would you mind to make a video and review them? thank you. I really love your channel and I am a new subscriber
You are really good at reviewing cars. Thank you for your time.

Always loved these, great video.
It's a cool little ride for sure!
My baby, 2010 Ibis White S line manual, still turning heads to this day and an absolute joy to drive (and barely takes oil 🙌🏼) The design is simply timeless, the newer ones look a bit too Hyundai-ish to me.
Iv owned my 2010 A5 Quattro for 3 years now installed a full armytrix exhaust did the rs5 front face lift, bags, wheels, and many more mods and have had little to no problems with the vehicle it now sits at 100,644 miles it’s a manual as well
Great review Kevin. I passed this on to a Friend whose looking at a used Audi.

Just picked up a ‘13 A5 and I love it. Great review!
What’s going on brother, I’m a little hesitant about getting the exact same car due to their reputation, hows it been treating you so far and any issues? Thanks!
Recent 2012 A5 owner. Got 2 year warranty thanks to your video. Cant stop looking back at the car when I walk out. Wish the audio system was better. Seats are so comfy.
Going to test drive a 2017 A5 today. Can't wait. Unofrtunately all the 2.0 Quattros start at 38k€ used here, so have to get a 1.4 front wheel drive.
Audi A5/s5 is my dream car thanks for making a review
You will def get it my friend!
I’ve had my 3.0tdi Quattro for almost 6 months now. I love it. People think it’s new and 13 years old. 115000 km. The only thing that has stopped working so far is the sensor to unlock/lock on door handle. The fob still works though, I’ll probably grab a couple off eBay for $30 when I feel like fixing it. Thanks for review. This car is a classic for performance and style in my opinion
i also have a 2010 a5, exact same model same & same engine with about 260k miles (!!) and it still runs perfectly, aged VERY good and the design is timeless

I owned a 2008 A5 S-Line for several years. Great car. I had many people compliment me on its looks.
Walter De Siliva the designer of A5 said it most beautiful car he ever designed and he change the game for Audi as well LED running lights and interior
I have the 3.0 litre tdi 2012 76,000miles Sportback. In 2 years of ownership and 12,000 miles it has been faultless. It simply wafts along and is quiet and comfortable. It is economic and fast enough for me here in the UK. Simply unmatched.
I have a 09 3.2 v6 currently with about 84k miles. I’ve had it for half a year now and its been good so far. Any advice?

Walter de Silva!
I bought an 2009 A5 3.2 V6 for 7k with 165k miles on the odometer just for the all wheel drive and I love this car. 265hp in sport mode on the trans makes it really fun to drive. The sound system is great at well. This car ages very well because people can't believe it's 12 years old. Planning to put the RSnav system into by the summer.
Im at 116k. I had the B&O system but I ripped out all the speakers and put in better stuff. I wanna do the newer larger screen with the mirror play. Let us know when you get it done!

love your review, I own one almost exactly, its a 2011 A5 Quattro with 110K miles and it runs like a new car because I keep it well maintained my self, they are a rock solid car, just make sure you keep up with the maintenance, I never take it to the dealer because it cost a arm to do maintenances there. So if you know some mechanics this a great car or else get ready to pay high prices for fixing anything. Just a piece a advice from my own experience.
Thanks so much and yes you're absolutely right. This is def a great car too
Absolutely agree. Bought an egr valve for my Modeo st previously, around £115, the same for my audi costs nearly £300.
same car and mileage for me, currently have a turbo code, im hoping its just a hose replacement or something small and not the whole turbo
I have a 2013 and love it. My 3rd Audi. 94K miles and solid so far. Repairs are expensive but I knew that before I bought it. Great for road trips and skiing.
Repairs aren’t that bad compared to a s5 or rs5 trust me
Btw don’t ever take it to an Audi dealer for repairs find a local shop that has some experience with German cars
Love the interior still, the only thing I’m planning on changing/upgrading is Sterling wheel
agreed
I had a 07 a6 with the 3.2 and loved it. It also was a smokers car. Felt like a rich old business man when I'd drive it.
Very good review.
Thank you my friend!
I found the A5 unicorn. I bought a 2016 in 2020. It had 23 miles on it. Not 23,000. Just 23 miles. I don't drive automatics. I'd rather walk. The car is an S-Line Competition Package. I guess some collector bought it and parked it. Audi designer Walter de Silva said it is his most beautiful work of art. I agree.
Got A5 and I love it
11:11 2:40 Does this Alcantara have a special code or name to find it and buy it? I like it because its smooth and has silver dots
See over here in Europe we get a 3.0tdi v6 and it is outstanding! It sounds like a GTR if you straight pipe it! Absolutely insane and it’ll do 0-60 in 5.7 - 5.9 seconds and give you 40mpg! Crazy car
I watched this video to see how the car would age. I bought the 2011 model car as a certified pre owned from a local audi dealership back in 2014. Only have about 115000 km on it. I also have the 6 speed manual.
I gotta say that this car is a pleasure to drive, especially with the manual transmission. The Quattro holds up so well in the rain and snow. Once the turbo kicks in, its launch is amazing. I hope to keep this car until it stops to start, and even then I'll try to repair it.
Super smooth ride and long 6 hour drives do not cause fatigue. I'm looking forward to the years ahead. Thanks man!
That's awesome my friend yea love driving this car and the design inside and out is timeless
What engine do you have the 2.0? How’s your oil consumption ? Mine is not that bad about a quart every 5k
@@user-pt2ke6gl5p I have the 2.0 TFSI. Oil consumption is about 1 quart every 7000 km or so.
@@coolguy336 wow that’s great we have about the same oil consumption .. how many miles on yours?
@@user-pt2ke6gl5p it has about 115,000 km on it. But that consumption was there from the start when I bought it at 56,000 km.
Im thinking of buying a 2.0T quattro with the S-tronic how is it? Is it good? How about the reliability?
Just to add, if you are buying 150k mi Audi & plan to fix things yourself using you tube, then definitely get 2.0 Engine.
It has more space to work on things like, water pump, alternator, a/c compressor.
Coolant lines etc.
Looking into a 2010 A5 Cabrio Quattro, six speed non-cvt, 90k miles, $9000...I own BMWs so doing maintenance is not an issue, but I am concerned about timing chain & oil consumption. Hopefully service records avail.

I have a 2012 A5 3.0 TDI 7 speed awd with about 80k miles, I love it more than I could imagine. Drives better than a brand new WB Commodore I test drove before i bought the A5 in August. Drove the car home about 5000km (3200 miles) & loved every minute of the drive through central Australia, especially cruising at 180lm/h (112 Mph) and accelerating to 220 km/h(135 mph) and still getting 31 miles per gallon (7.5 l/100km) with the air conditioner on all the time. Also the 3.0 TDI is way faster than the 2.0 petrol in this review.

Something about Audi and BMWs I can't like they never make my head turn unless its one of those BMW x SUVs great review 👍🏾 and I do agree Audi's don't seem to age because of the look like you explained
Yea Audis in particular very understated vehicles and minimalist design which helps them age well.
That’s the thing Audi’s ALWAYS handle and feel so planted to the ground and just have a way about them when they drive that NO other car that I’ve personally drove can compare. When you close the doors they have a special sound and feeling that just screams “tightly built”, “beefy”, audi’s just are not “ chinsy” or “tin cans”. And the AWD system is arguably the BEST AWD and go through snow like no other car I have EVER driven. Especially since it’s not small like an A4 and not big like an A6 (not saying the A4 or A6 are bad in snow at all, the 5 series just seems to be the perfect size)
You just described my infiniti fx45
I own a B8 3.2 v6 manual coupe. They are rare but they are out there.

Greetings from the UK - I have just bought an A5 S-line Cabriolet with the V6 3-litre Turbo diesel engine and it's a delight to drive with plenty of torque. It's also a 10-year vehicle with 80K miles but is in mint condition and came with 20" S-5 7-spoke alloys which look awsome. It's mated to the 8-speed multitronic gearbox so drives as a conventional auto as well as an F-1 Paddle shift. I understand the CVT gearbox is not so great so I guess that's the downside to this particular vehicle. Overall however, it looks great in gleaming black and is a head-turner..😃😃
