  • A concerned mother messaged me concerned that her son had joined a gang and has been trying all she can to dissuade him. This was my 4th such call this month.
    So we decided to document this conversation to speak with the youths to see what it is they’re going through and what options we can provide. This is with mums permission of course. So going forward we will be organising a forum and phone number parebts can contact to seek help and organise preventative measures and opportunities that are our there for the young people

    I enjoyed this. I'm 20 years old; 6 years ago I made a few mistakes which put my career at jeopardy by making stupid choices I never needed to make. Any young men reading this; the streets are not worth it. Anyone who chills on the block is a bum. Go play football or hit the studio. Get a real job. Have some respect for your family. We are in the UK; a first-world country with real opportunity. There's no excuse to be behaving like we're from the trenches because we are not, even if we live humble and can't afford to buy Prada or Goyard... it's not all about designer.

    This is great, Bobby, I'm glad parents feel the need to contact you and others like you who've changed their lives after being on the roads and understanding the ins and outs of that lifestyle, instead of the police who are primarily interested in and tasked with arresting young boys - which isn't ending the cycle of street violence nor is it an effective form of re-habitation. Had this mum called the police on her son, maybe he would've been shipped off to prison for being in possession of rambo knives; he then may have met people inside who are on what he's on and became gassed off of them. If there's anything I've taken away from this video is that we *need* a strong sense of community. A community that, by demonstration, can help override the feeling that people have to contact the police for "help," instead of members of said community that is organized around shared principles of care. Keep up the intervention.

    @big ego media .
    As a white male growing up in south London in the 70s this sort of gang culture wasn’t around us .
    We were poor as were others on our estate , blacks and whites , and all races played happily together , run ups , knock down ginger , football , cricket , and doing what the youth , should be doing …happy times ..
    It’s such a shame where the youth of today are with gang violence .
    I never really post , however this guy Bobby , what an absolute lovely human being .
    Take notice of this man you young ones .
    Bobby to take time to help these youths , is amazing .
    I wish you all the very best in helping the future of our capital .
    Good luck , and I will keep an eye out on this one with very keen interest .

      @@Silkysmooth-qk5nc this is very true. No one in London is in the trenches, the UK provide benefits for anyone who is not working. These young people need to travel abroad to witness real poverty where people do not have a plate of food and live in a shack, 🙁

I’ll be honest alot of it went through one ear n out the other…but what it did was install consciousness into me..not sure i realised it at the time but i owe my life to my mother & father…Now i am a father…seeing this reaffirmed me - powers king ! Respect to you for doing this ! 🫡💯

    Face Time talking about your mum told me you got 3 rambos in the yard, and him saying he gonna use it is MindGames, your censoring what we see, but using a mobile phone, lets not incriminate ourselves in any type of way or be mindful about what you say.

    What the hell has happened to African parenting???
    An African parent calling an ex gang member for help with her son??
    We really have fallen
    This is not a diss to Bobby , just an observation on how the black family especially African one has completely fallen

  • @MrMan27417
    @MrMan27417 Місяць тому +12

    How comes new generation a lot of kids from Africans households are main ones jumping on road . I was told their culture is better because they have 2 parents homes , dislike slackness , education over sports and don’t promote badness unlike Caribbeans etc . This why divide diaspora war stuff is stupid and fake all of us are facing issues as collective as black ppl . we need good role models in community . Our culture of being a bad person , making fast money you get ratings . We make Bare excuses everyone got hard life , don’t mean gotta do crimes. Even me I’m early 20s but company made me have talks in schools to give advice to get in the industry I work in .
    Hope kid in video can change it around.

    • @Yh-vi2sv

      This new gen of Africans are copying degeneracy, statistically most come from two parent households and more likely to go to uni than their white British and Afro Caribbean counterparts, notice what lingo they use when they wanna be bad?

    • @Facts_over__emotions
      @Facts_over__emotions Місяць тому +6

      It's an old outdated stereotype from the 90's and early 2000's that Africans are less prone to falling into this. Back then their population was much smaller but now they have over taken the Caribbean's in numbers so now you got all different types.
