The number of people actually going to Iraq/ Afghanistan is low but they are here. I had to beg my leadership to send me on my second deployment to Afghanistan so it’s somewhat difficult
Oh cool. Im going in as a 3D0X2. As a 3d guy, how did you get deployed to afghanistan? Did you request it or did they just give you orders? I want to go to the desert at least once in my career but heard it was pretty uncommon for 3D's.
Just by looking at the manpower numbers a 3D will obviously be less likely to deploy in that kind of environment like you stated. However, there are still computers and servers out there and it is our job to make sure they stay running at full capacity.

Do security forces do patrols regularly Im really interested in a combat type job with the Air force
Albert Car It depends on what unit they get assigned too. I'd recommend SF or maybe even Special Operations for combat stuff.
Lane McCall do you know which units go out more and is there any way to transfer to a unit that does more deployment type missions
Albert Car That's not really how things work but I would reach out to a recruiter for these questions.
