All of us, children of Doom, are the offspring of Sabbath. Praise Iommi! Obey the Riff!
I need 8 hours of Sleep a day
How about 12?
😅😅😅
New Sleep is always good Sleep, even when it's old Sleep.
the real question is when the fuck did they last release new Sleep?
because, for my money, the last time anything was "new" by Sleep, it was the re-release of Jerusalem, re-skinned as Dopesmoker.
@@billyalarie929 The Sciences on 4/20 of 2018. It included a studio version of Sonic Titan.
@@satanicaleve i mean i listened to the official stream. on here. right on youtube.
but like, if i hadn't seen the title as proof, and you told me it was their new album, i wouldn't have believed you.
because it sounds exactly like fucking Dopesmoker.
like there is literally nothing that sets it apart. we waited 18 years, and got..... "yep, it checks out, as an album by Sleep"
are you all this stupid, or just REALLY high?
@@billyalarie929 maybe your not high enough....or need to get working on it asap...I mean is it really that serious? I fail to understand why it's something to get so worked up about, let alone insult people's intelligence over. Either way chill out and pack a bowl or seventeen, I'm gonna get back to listening to this ep for the 50th time
@@billyalarie929 The Sciences is objectively the best Sleep album, wether you like it or not
Ahhhh, the old Jerusalem/Dopesmoker trick.

Hail Iommi, Hail Butler and Hail Ward!
ozz the Stonerhead too))
OZZY IS THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL
ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY BLACK SABBATH
You know I mean we all love and adore the music, because sleep is literally a perfect band, but does anyone else get completely stunned by their art work? The vibrant blues and oranges in their cover art is insane, I am high.
it looks like the wave art of a snow cone shanty I used to frequent as a boy
highschool-level color theory dude, you are high :) :) :)
Blue and orange are complimentary opposites. Always nice to look at.
Sorry to disappoint you, but that ain't *their* work.
They hire artists to do the job, pay them their quota and then decide the best cover for their album.
Kudos go to the artists, Sleep "just" makes the rest :D
@@Bobfermasan Except for the fact that commissioning art makes you the legal owner, art has inherent monetary value and can be legally possessed by a person that didn't create it.
Iommic life complete
bruh Im too high I swear to god that he said it exactly when I read your comment
Let's just all chill. This is like getting a strain you remember from back in the day but you can find it again. Hell yes.
A fresh batch of the ol Master Kush
A strain that you had smoked for years but you got tired of it then you got some shit from your friend who said it was some good new shit but its that same old shit you got tired of except now you realize youve missed that shit so you smoke the whole bag with a bottle of whiskey before your over night shift and get fired almost exactly like the first time.
@@jimlong8077 tell us more of that true story dude
I mean I’m glad they released it on vinyl the b sides for both the singles are an intricate sketching of sea creatures and machinery. Dope for the collection
Like ty sticks or Hawaiian! 🤣
Matt Pike is an underrated guitarist somehow
he's highly underrated. He brings a vast array of influences into his own cohesive style. He's potentially the most influential guitarist in the stoner/doom genre, rivaling even Iommi.
Well, start rating him, then he won't be underrated
hä? what sense does a rate make? such a bullshit....
more like, people think he's a**, but he's not and its weirdly complex
quite true. I can play all the old Sabbath songs, thought Sleep would be easier because of how slow it is. But the timing is really tricky, like what the hell, is he waiting on visual cues from the drummer or something??
These guys like Black Sabbath Vol. 4 a lot.
Who doesn't
we all do))
@@user-ky4uo6kj9p we all dO)))
Al said that the only records he hears are Sabbath's first 4 albums, the pillar from where Sleep stems.
Leagues Beneath is an incredible jam, I can't believe it doesn't get more play. Literally one of Sleep's best tracks.
leagues beneath keeps me coming back
Iommic I bet is a reference to Tony Iommic guitarist for Black Sabbath. I'm sure Matt is a big Sabbath fan.
Yeah it is. Thank Black Sabbath for creating Heavy and Doom metal.
They heavily reference Sabbath in like every other song they've ever released. They're not afraid of never being subtle about it
@@alexsingleton907 Matt has said it himself, Sleep is basically sabbath but heavier.
@@bryannguyen1260 Sabbath like water/Cant live without one))
Actually it's just a strange coincidence because none of the members have actually heard of Black Sabbath. Crazy, huh?
NEW SLEEP?!?!?!... oh... Nevermind... STILL GONNA LISTEN TO IT 100 TIMES THO
I'll make sure to get plenty of Sleep tonight.
never heard that one...dad
I’ve been sleeping all day
My neighbors at 3 am: CAN I GET SOME SLEEP PLEASE?!?!?
Me blasting Sleep: I’m doing what you want stop yelling at me
Amen brother Doom! praise The Loud!
Their music is like an adventure for the senses
Nobody does the " stoner " thing like these guys ... not even close ... the " Jerusalem " album is still one of the heaviest slabs of psychedelia . Hit that bong till it hits back \m/
dude in 2002-3 it went bong hits, Rapeman, Sabbath, Sleep, Cocteau Twins, dimension X, hella fucked up

@@punkrockjezus5227 The Bill Ward Files.
Concur.
Sleep should write a song where they're like "Travels a BILLion light years at WARD speed"
Heaviest two song EP in the history of anything....
Sleep has become a band who can (luckily) release anything they want, the WAY they want, just like dopesmoker. Now they are on Third Man Records, which is known to release cool stuff in a really good quality. So if they re-release old songs, that sounds the way they like and in good quality, whats the fcking problem? just stfu and enjoy
Love third man. Thanks to them I have all the classic Melvins shit on wax 🙏
I wish they would release more new material.

Sounds like Om!!! Wait a minute... I just totally realized... Tony i-OM-i... holy shit, sleep is a bunch of geniuses!
Possibly because OM is the rhythm section of sleep
@@conorashton687 yeah, but I heard Om first, and Sleep sounded very different. I'm an Om man. It's kind of like Tool, doesn't feature that lyric style--how did my friend's dad put it?--"sounds like he's got his dick caught in a meat grinder!"
Al Cisneros - Vocals, Bass (Om, Shrinebuilder)
@@conorashton687 right--I have liked Om a long time! I guess it isn't artistry but cosmic coincidence, since the guitar drives the Iommi aspect. But Iommi... Om... Iommic Life by Sleep... I hope they nodded in approval of OM in the title.
And Iommi... fact of the matter: That's a cool weird name.
Sleep was a gem of a find. I'm so happy that I discovered their music. This is kind of what I want to do. It's almost exactly what I want to sound like. They play tuned way down. Like a low C or something.
Everything Matt Pike plays in is C standard.
leagues beneath is in B standard even

Don't fret, fellow weedians. They're simply wetting our appetite for what's to come....soon hopefully....pretty please.....
Repackaging and remastering material that didn't need repackaging or remastering isn't whetting appetites...it's called "MILKING PEOPLE".
@@slowneutron6163 The mix on this version is miles and away better - The original really suffered from a lack of track separation, this is a lot more musically coherent;
