+Zack Ottoman Have you heard good Rap? because is a great genre, and i'm not talking about Eminem or Lil Wayne... i'm talking about Wu-Tang Clan, Compton's Most Wanted, Grandmaster Flash...
+Zack Ottoman Many-many good stuff is on hip-hop territory too :) Exlope more and you will find other amazing genres :) I would recommend to start you journey from mid to late 60-s, with the bands like Cream, Jefferson Airplane, 13rd Floor Elevators, and other Woodstock '69-ish rock :)
thanks for the tip but i known about cream jefferon airplane 13rd floor elevators (have u heard kingdom of heaven!?) for yearssssss i got bored with regular music now i listen to weird shit but really i like everything
That's a fairly all-star selection of songs you picked for this kind of compilation. \m/ Stoner doom often has this sound like it's from an alternate timeline where hippies are pissed off nihilists, instead of tree-hugging flower children.
If you ever happen to read the history of the genre (the forming of Black Sabbath) you'll see you're not too far off the mark man. That's what I like about it too. Those guys couldn't relate to the peace freaks in sunshiney San Francisco, while they were stuck in the insatiably bleak factory town of Birmingham England. Hence the adaptation to heavier sounds (especially since Iommi detuned his guitars and used thinner banjo strings due to a welding accident that made it hard for him to press on regularly tuned strings) and the strong distate for anything with a hippie flavor. From Geezer Butler's menacing low end and lyrics, Bill Ward's thundering drums, Tony Iommi's fretboard sorcery and Ozzy's howls metal was born.
is that a joke, i barely got through the first song and felt like pulling the plug, on my life! i think maybe it sounded like it was from an alternate timeline where hippies are pissed off nihilists. Seriously, i' ve only been (introduced) into the doom side of my metal self for a few months ( i am after all an old man) but i rocked right into Bongzilla from the get go not this sleepy shit, maybe i'll listen to more than two songs, after all elecrtic wizard is coming up -that may keep me awake enough to find out who else is here
phew, i skipped through all that sludge and YOB seems kinda badass, thanks! btw sorry for judging this book by the seat of my pants but life is getting shorter for this old man
I am listening to this while hanging my t shirts after being at laundromat and I swear to Satan that as soon as Born too Late came on I got to my Vitus tshirt right after the John Wayne one.Pla nets align in strange ways friends. Some big some small, dont mis any.Be open of mind and listen to everything around you brothers and sisters of the universe.Peace
I'd like to believe that I have a peculiar medical condition because of which I'm always tripping. Just the kind of music I was lookin for. Thanx for the mix. I come here everyday for my juice. Much love from the people of Kerala.
a most excellent mix! some bands to consider for your next volume(s): Electric Citizen, Monolord, Alunah, Cough, Craang, Horsehunter, Elephant Tree... oh, so many more!
Awesome! Great choice in songs! Cough - A Year in Suffering is a nice song too! Be sure to check out their split with Windhand (reflection of the negative)
Awesome Playlist, much love from New Zealand. Don't generally do stereotypes, but I wouldn't have expected a doom stoner to come from Austria. I imagine mountains, pigtails, and weird folk dancing. Not the sound of Odin ripping.
When I'll sit in my cruiser for discovering unknown worlds, dusty deserts, forgotten lands and moons of other planets, I'll enter this link in main computer's interface and click 'Play'. Stoner rock/metal is the best music for such trips.

It's kinda funny that the people here know that they are making the coolest comments about music. I am not to sure about that. Sometimes nothing is better than something. Don't you know that?
That Elder song is right up there with Kyuss's Gardenia. Jesus On A Stick, what a song! The voice also reminds me strongly of Brent Hinds from Mastodon.
I'm glad this is still here. So many awesome stoner rock mixes have been taken down by UA-cam and I didn't download them in time. Even the comments were awesome. F u c k you UA-cam.

These musics clearly shows the darkness in which infinitely many people meet, the void of a vain life, without prospects. The dark side of the human being The abandonment and lack of love in which many live, the progressive degradation of a society more and more solicited by a senseless consumption. Fortunately, times and trends change quickly in these troubled times :-)
Yeah but all those reasons are what makes this music so great its nice listning to something that reflects the darker and more disturbing aspect of life so beautifully and powerfully through the use of heavy riffs and rage/sorrow filled vocals instead of all the shitty happy go lucky music the main stream music industry trys to shove down our throats.
I fucking love Stoner/Doom/Sludge Metal. It's like Chopped & Screwed Metal and as a rap fan it appeals to my angrier feelings that aren't spoken on in Hip-hop music
Thanks for posting. I liked some of these. Some I never heard before and do not want to hear again. How about the movie "The Trip" starring Peter Fonda? Some good songs?

wow... I feel like a piece of my soul just found its home
Dorthia's voice on Winter Sun is just so damn sublime.
I was never a fan of Stone Rock/Metal but it seems I'm about to change mind after listening to this compilation.

I have listened to this mix a billion times, still not ENOUGH!
Windhand-Winter Sun is pure eargasim but can only make out some words cause of how low the vocals are. Good thing I can look up the lyrics any time.
Windhand does that on purpose, they'll hardly ever tell you the actual lyrics
That cow video sent me here. I had no idea this existed. Reminds me of that band called ASG. Pretty sick.
