Didn't know this band until 2018, they played a festival in Mexico late in the evening after like 4 or 5 average psyche rock bands, people were just having a good time, dancing, tripping, moving from one side to the other, but when OM started playing, after the first song, everyone at the stage got completely hypnotized by the sound like subdued into OM's sound. A very calmed yet engaged audience stood still just hearing, witnessing what I could only describe as an auditory spell, myself included surrendered to that bass tone and drums. OM kept playing until the night and when they were done everyone just woke up from that trance and started screaming, applauding and giving them a nice send off. I don't know if ill ever see them again in Mexico, but I sure got a nice memory from that show.
I love reading the comments here because I have truly never met a single person IRL that knows who OM is so it's amazing to see others praising them in the way that I do when I listen.

Audio engineers. THIS IS WHAT BASS AND DRUMS ARE SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE. Mic’d excellently and treated proper without stealing nuance, bravo, and well, OM. Haven’t seen a bad performance yet 🙏
I hadn't heard this recording before now, and I was going to say how much I loved Al's bass tone. I love it on all the other OM tracks I've heard but this is killer
Great band, but they can be super patchy live. I've seen them about 6 times, and 3 out of the six were next level, the other 3 they were a patchy mess where Al seemed to forget how to play in time or dial in his bass tone. Emil always the consummate professional though and often saved mistakes by adding and subtracting beats, which I was very impressed with.
This band is so precious to me, every song is a masterpiece and transcendental. They are truly unique and it delightful. I discovered OM thanks to a very charismatic with whom we discussed about orthodox icons, and he simply said "I think you would love this band" and showed me an album cover. Home I immediately searched for them and the first song I listened to was "Meditation is the Practice of Death". It was instant love ! I am studying to become a funeral advisor and ceremony master, and I always plays their bands while doing it, it really helps me concentrate and sets me in a good mood.
I saw Om about 12 years ago and they were fantastic. I had been waiting for a chance to see them for a few years and they fulfilled all of my expectations. I was looking forward to seeing them in 2020 but that didn't happen. It's great to discover new stuff by them that i was unaware of - this is a real joy !
the tone and body of selected kit and recordings, every little anomaly and imperfection makes it so much more unique and fascinating to listen to amongst the drones and amount of space they leave. full entrancing satisfaction.
