It's funny how different the perceptions can be. Der8auer already had a look at the Corsair One i500 earlier and he didn't like it. He showed that the cooling could've easily been better with just a few tweaks and changes, but the thing that bothered him the most was the noise and the lack of control over the noise in the software. For Jay noise is a none issue, while he also mentioned one of the core differences between America and Germany: Air conditioning. Which is pretty much uncommon in Germany and very much common in the US. ^^ Which means that noise will be more of an issue in countries where AC is not common as well as temperatures will be higher, which will show the limits of the Corsair One i500 much earlier than in an air-conditioned environment.
If I was to put that spec into my case with it's overkill $1,500 dual loop (one 560mm and 480mm rad), you're looking at roughly $4,350. So that $4,700 seems pretty ridiculous when you only get a 120mm and 240mm AIO.
@@JoshuaKA02 For this price this should have been a custom loop, or at the very least feature a bigger AIO for that poor 14900K plus a properly watercooled graphics card where the VRM is covered by the block and not just the GPU and VRAM.
My thought would be, I would rather see Jay build a similarly configured product (as much as is possible), at a lower cost, with better cooling. I don't see anyone in his audience looking to spend this much and not getting peak performance. However, if you could get better performance, for less money (>$1K less), it would be worth the watch. Beat Corsair with a custom build!
I'm updating my system with a 4080, new MSI X670E, 32 GSkill RAM, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Corsair 360 AIO, for under $2,000-. This high end parts paired with low end fans is not worth $4,699-! Mod it Jay!
I like the SFF and design aesthetics, and agree that they probably could have gone w/bigger CPU AIO and fans. It’s definitely nice looking and temps seem pretty good (and could be better as you mentioned). I also agree with your thought that Corsair should offer these in a step down tier at a more affordable price point. They’d get a lot more takers one tier down at a price point closer to $2000-$2300. Personally, that system as configured is way outside of any price point I would ever consider. I’ve been building my own PCs for 30 years now and could build 2 high end gaming rigs for the price of that system and still have a few hundred bucks leftover.
Definitely need modifications, GN did some rearranging as well on that prebuilt. Not with money for what you’re paying for . Weak fans , weak Aios for both . Wasteful product. But to see you fix their bad design would be cool
I don't like that they have a 14900K in this PC knowing it can't be fully utilized. It feels like they want to have it on the box and in the price for those who don't know any better. Come on Corsair, you're better than that.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. Corsair is meeting the market where they are. Blame uneducated consumers. Go to them and heal them of their misunderstandings.
They should have gone with the R7 7 7800x3D instead of intel. That 120 aio would have been able to handle that cpu at much lower temperatures for the same performance metric in games or even better. Also, the lack of any cooling contact for the gpu VRM's is not great either. Not good for its lifespan or potential screen tearing and artifacts.
Looking at the side fans where there was the 120 and the open slim fans at the cpu aio. I don't notice any reason they couldn't have put that 2nd open thin fan as a 240 aio. I know it would limit more of the airflow for the rest, but I think it would have made things cooler for the 14900k to have a 240. If you do end up doing modifications to this system, I would wonder if a 240 would fit there.
I was honestly saving up to buy this when it was revealed. But a buddy helped me configure a smaller SFF build and save more than $1k on the base model. I'm super happy with it, but damn is the Corsair ONE i500 sexy
did he not notice how the black bar in the middle of the front panel going from top to bottom through the power button controls the rgb colors and stuff by sliding your finger up and down on it.
As an open "Build it yourself" snob, I wouldn't even think of buying this for me, but I can see myself suggesting it TO people I don't want to actually build a computer FOR. It looks good, it's functional, I could replace the fans in question with better ones in a couple hours if they wanted it, and Corsair would be on the hook for troubleshooting (Without having to build a whole PC and THEN troubleshoot Windows for asshats)
It looks like a 240mm aio for the CPU may be able to fit in that case, would you be able to test that for us? GN Steve tested a regular sized fan for the 120 rad and that fit, so silly they went with the slim fans.
Yes, I’d like to see if the full size fans would make a difference. Also, VRM cooling would be cool (pun intended) to see, the copper plate is right there.
So my opinion is that it's definitely nice that someone makes MATX/ITX prebuilts that also look and perform decently. My problem is that this is WAY out of whack in terms of price-performance-parts ratio. Like, you could stick with purely Corsair parts and make a better ITX system with just as much power with similar temps at like $1000 less - or more if you went with non-RGB parts and were able to get an FE 4090 deal. And Corsair could sell that system at like a $400 markup and it would still be cheaper than this while making them profit. What do I mean? Corsair 2000D Airflow ITX Case (with fans) - $160 Corsair SFX-L 1000W PSU - $180 Corsair 360mm AIO - $190 MSI B650i AM5 ITX Motherboard - $260 (Amazon) 7800x3D - $350 (Amazon) 64GB Corsair RAM 6000MT - $310 OR 32GB for $185 Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NvME - $170 (Amazon) MSI 4090 Gaming Trio Slim - $1800 (Best Buy) OR PNY Verto 4090 - $1750 (Amazon) or get lucky and find an FE Card for $1600 That is $3,420 for a BETTER version of what they built....still using all Corsair parts except the NvME. And comes in a smaller footprint case. Swing and a miss Corsair.
Unobtainium pricing for the average consumer for sure. Strictly aimed at the "I have boat loads of money and I just want the shiny object to show off to my friends!" market. Enthusiasts might enjoy modifying this build though. I will admit, that 120mm AIO did manage to perform better than I anticipated with a 14900k, a freaking "I rival the sun for heat" chip. Try with a 14700k with that AIO or upgrade to the 240mm. Would like to see the results for both though.
It’s definitely more than I would spend on a rig. That being said, I still watch videos of cars I can’t afford/wouldn’t spend the money on being modified because I think it’s interesting…so have at it!
I imagine the reason they used the lower m.2 for this is because the GPU cooler would be in the way if you wanted to use the slot, where as the upper slot appears to be accessible without removing the GPU at all, allowing for an easier user experience when adding a new m.2
it looks like you may be able to fit a 120aio in there too. it would just be a toubing routing thing. also as an idea you could possibly do a custom soft tubing build in this potentially.
1.) Interesting concept. 2.) I'd like to see you modify it the way you were saying you wanted to. 3) way too far out of my price range bc I'm poor. 4.) Wished it was AMD instead of Intel Thank You for the video! Please keep making videos! 😊
I have been waiting for someone to do some modifications and test with this case, as it is ripe for opportunities. 1. As you mentioned, larger fans (normal instead of the slim ones), and how much does this affect the performance. (maybe even try Noctua fans to see how noise to performance is) 2. If possible, could you get a larger radiator (240mm instead of the 120mm) on the CPU, maybe even try air cooling it. And of course test how this performs. 3. Apply your own heatsinks on the GPUs VRMs, and how this affects performance. 4. Huge ask, maybe try replacing the motherboard, but this may complicate things, such as Windows being tied to the board and also the Corsair software suite. 4.1 If trying other motherboards, why not try to see if an AMD board with a 7800X3D and/or 7950X3D, and how the 120mm AIO would perform with that and with the other upgrades above. I even had a thought, that if it isn't possible to install a 240mm radiator on the side fans because of clearances, then it should be possible to daisy-chain two 120mm, or am I just out of the loop. ;P
Pretty slick stock build. PSU wires could use some love and needs a bigger radiator for the processor, should just make the sides of the case radiators
I would be curious to see if 20mm fans would actually fit and allow the case to close without modifying the chassis or mounts. Beyond that, I don't see the appeal for this case. or the system they crammed into it.
It would be cool if they sold just that case. I'd buy that case and do a build in it. I really like the aesthetic but there's a fair amount of cooling potential they didn't capitalize on.
I don't get why they didn't use a 240 mm side mounted AIO . I would be interested if Jay tried switching the 120 out for this, maybe even with one of the new type of "pump in radiator" types. $4.5K is a lot of money for something that doesn't have custom loop and custom blocks, but it is a really aesthetically pleasing looking PC. It looks like they have a design engineer with a server background with the look of the internals. I still prefer to build my own though, despite having arthritis in my hands that slows me down a lot.
I would love to see more content about the mini PC's. I'm wanting to buy one or two in the next year. As far as specifications go there are some that look like they contend with full towers. My worry is heat and accessibility to upgrades. Otherwise they look to be great little deals and would last longer than laptops.
I have to say I love the concept, and I'm glad someone is doing it. Having said that, I feel like somebody who actually knows PCs would buy something else knowing the compromises made here. A 240 AIO would fit easily on that bracket and would be a better fit with their CPU choice. They also could have gone with an ITX motherboard and left a bit more room for ventilation below the GPU.
I like the idea of a case that looks refined, runs quiet, and has some horsepower. But this looks like it would be very difficult to upgrade in the future.
Hey Jay, maybe you can try adding little amazon heatsinks to the gpu memory plates? And/or modding a 80mm fan into the side bottom plate underneath the gpu?
Man no wonder they were talking about these in their conversations with the trading networks. $4700 price tag makes the shareholders happy - as long as it sells.
Dear Mr and Mrs Corsair, In the unlikely event that you are reading this comment, then please let me congratulate you for building the first product that I would consider buying from your company. Unfortunately I cannot buy the Corsair One i500 because the design is still incomplete and I'm offended by the very idea of a designer gift box with disco lights on my desk. My world is too cluttered to allow the wood veneered offspring of R2D2 and a common VCR into my work space until it has a cover for the tangle of cords in back. The light for de-tangling the cords is brilliant. What would be more brilliant is to put the cords in front so I can easily access them when I need to, and a closet with a door to hide them behind the rest of the time. Here is everything else you got right, the size of the footprint and the overall shape. It is so nice to see that you have resisted the urge to make the box 50% longer and 50% thicker than an ATX motherboard and video card. Hurrah, full size technology can now fit on my desk, it must be the 21st century. I know it's a radical idea but I require the items in my office have an appearance that is better than inoffensive, I want to look at beautiful things. You've made a breakthrough, now follow through; it's time to sharpen the pencils and reduce the exterior complexity, color, and material counts by 50%. Make it attractive, you can do it. You can make products that people want to look at and pay a premium for. In fact, for companies like Apple, it's the primary reason people buy those products. Build a sculpture worthy of my desk and I will buy it.
16:11 on the front on the black line, the top black middle line one can change the color. on the bottom black middle line one can change the type of color mode. ;) That high price is out of my price budget! I usually think that my PC should be up to 2000 and usually above 1000, something like that.
The Corsair one was impressive. This thing is junk. They should have used their own gpu cpu waterblocks and modified them to attach to the radiators, making them aio's and used one of their water pumps in-between.
Given the room I saw in there, I feel like they might be able to go with a single loop with dual 240mm radiators and maybe even a single 120mm radiator on the bottom with that fan, plus a slim fan either at 80mm or 120mm where that blank plate is for cooling the rest of the GPU. I don't really feel that would increase the heat on the rest of the air-cooled components enough to matter tbh. Maybe it will and I'm just stupid though.
I’m already waiting for the 5090 so it’s too late for me and Feel like Corsair cheeped out on the gpu water block. That’s perfect for an i7 or i5 4070 ti super build
I like the chassis design. I would buy a gutted one in a few years and rebuild it OR maybe see if the case will be sold separately. I ALSO like that this case/system COULD be air-cooled OR water cooled. It has enough space for a larger top down air cooler (like an L12s) and a normal air cooled GPU.
I seriously didn't expect to see such a small area being directly cooled on the GPU lol. That looks so cheap for the price you're paying. That's not nice, Corsair.

Which means that noise will be more of an issue in countries where AC is not common as well as temperatures will be higher, which will show the limits of the Corsair One i500 much earlier than in an air-conditioned environment.
If I was to put that spec into my case with it's overkill $1,500 dual loop (one 560mm and 480mm rad), you're looking at roughly $4,350. So that $4,700 seems pretty ridiculous when you only get a 120mm and 240mm AIO.
Especially considering they used AIOs.
@@JoshuaKA02 For this price this should have been a custom loop, or at the very least feature a bigger AIO for that poor 14900K plus a properly watercooled graphics card where the VRM is covered by the block and not just the GPU and VRAM.
mostly of the shelf products, and the go with slim fans instead of just making the whole thing just a few mil wider
The "Y" cutouts in the grills remind me of Destiny. lol
Better fans yes!!!
Try some 120MM delta fans.
Or 120MM Super Flower 12 pole fans.
That CPU AIO should fit a 240.
Caffeinator out.
I'm updating my system with a 4080, new MSI X670E, 32 GSkill RAM, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Corsair 360 AIO, for under $2,000-. This high end parts paired with low end fans is not worth $4,699-!
Mod it Jay!
Great CPU few days ago i got 78003xd on Amazon for 270$
@@MAG-CrewDamn bro that's an insane deal!
@@saltknife Brother i got very lucky to bump on that sale. Very fast they sold out and price wass back on regular.
Id like to see you do fan upgrades and see how much cooler you can get it
I like the SFF and design aesthetics, and agree that they probably could have gone w/bigger CPU AIO and fans.
14900k detuned to the performance of a 14700k. Corsiar equals overpriced and under deliver.
The light wood is not walnut colored. Walnut has a dark brown color. I would say it has more of a Birch color. And the one you have is Oak
I don't like that they have a 14900K in this PC knowing it can't be fully utilized. It feels like they want to have it on the box and in the price for those who don't know any better. Come on Corsair, you're better than that.
Now that you mention it, yeah I agree. Marketing marketing marketing. I wonder if intel subsidies them to use their CPUs or something.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. Corsair is meeting the market where they are. Blame uneducated consumers. Go to them and heal them of their misunderstandings.
@@POVwithRCthat’s what derbauer is doing. Literally. This video is not critical enough.
100 percent agreed!
Yeah I'd love to know if a 240 fits.
GN showed that a regular sized fan fits on the 120 AIO, so they really should have done that at the least.
I was honestly saving up to buy this when it was revealed. But a buddy helped me configure a smaller SFF build and save more than $1k on the base model. I'm super happy with it, but damn is the Corsair ONE i500 sexy
To me it looks like an Atari 2600 and a 70's console tv had a kid. Would love to see what mods you would do to it. Better fans and better paste?
You should all check Fractal Designs North case, I have one and love how it blends with the rest of the furniture!
I would absolutely buy a big version with side 360 intake
did he not notice how the black bar in the middle of the front panel going from top to bottom through the power button controls the rgb colors and stuff by sliding your finger up and down on it.
or the light on the back thats above the io thats there to help see incase you need to plug stuff in while its against a wall or dark
Hey Jay just so you are aware, Walnut is typically the darker wood vs Oak. I think you meant the other way around minute 7:00.
Was going to say that -- beat me to it.
GN Steve tested a regular sized fan for the 120 rad and that fit, so silly they went with the slim fans.
der Bauer pulled those fans out and put 25mm fans there instead and it made a massive difference
Yes plz more video! Fix this mess, make it better. "Better by Jay"!
Of all the videos from your channel that I've watched, this is one of them.
Corsair 2000D Airflow ITX Case (with fans) - $160
Corsair SFX-L 1000W PSU - $180
Corsair 360mm AIO - $190
MSI B650i AM5 ITX Motherboard - $260 (Amazon)
7800x3D - $350 (Amazon)
64GB Corsair RAM 6000MT - $310 OR 32GB for $185
Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NvME - $170 (Amazon)
MSI 4090 Gaming Trio Slim - $1800 (Best Buy) OR PNY Verto 4090 - $1750 (Amazon) or get lucky and find an FE Card for $1600
That is $3,420 for a BETTER version of what they built....still using all Corsair parts except the NvME. And comes in a smaller footprint case.
Swing and a miss Corsair.
Thank you for making lunchtime enjoyable rn :)
I would definitely want to see some custom work done to this
The world needs more mid-century modern inspired PC cases.
ikea pc case would be interesting
It is great it exists for the people who want it. I would always choose to build my rig as it is infinitely cheaper.
€4.199 in the Netherlands for the version with a 4080 Super. What a money… damn
And that is why we build our own. Thanks guys!
It’s definitely underwhelming especially at that price. Interesting yes but if I spent $5k on a system and it ran that hot I’d be upset.
The Small form factor tax is no joke. The special components like an SFF power supply and ITX motherboards are also "more for less".
damn, how time flies by!!
i got this peasant 2080ti & 5800x3D 😢
Upgrade the fans yes. See what happens. always upgrade the cooling, especially 4090.
While upgrading the fans you could also add some smal Heatsinks on the VRM of the GPU. Just for fun and giggles
Jay++ for using that large screen. Thank you.
I'm loving the new wood cases that are coming out. I haven't seen one yet that is "the one for me", but I'm digging the trend.
Been away for a bit, like the monitor set up, very immersive to the viewers
A new case and they actually left the front panel on the front? I am amazed! Great. Less dust accumulation by the time on those ports. Happiness.
I just wish a company like Corsair would just put an emphasis on great thermals- they’re like pre-airflow NZXT with their prebuilts
The Audio is so much better! Did you do any upgrades??
1.) Interesting concept.
2.) I'd like to see you modify it the way you were saying you wanted to.
3) way too far out of my price range bc I'm poor.
4.) Wished it was AMD instead of Intel
Thank You for the video! Please keep making videos! 😊
Yes please Modify this case... If possible try with both Air Cooling and Liquid Cooling....
I have been waiting for someone to do some modifications and test with this case, as it is ripe for opportunities.
1. As you mentioned, larger fans (normal instead of the slim ones), and how much does this affect the performance. (maybe even try Noctua fans to see how noise to performance is)
I would be interested in just the chassis, personally. Really like the layout, they did a great job with things.
That price is just... wow.
It's the corsair tax
Getting a old pc from my primary school soon
Stealth build with all custom water cooling
Those older videos of yours are gonna help
I like the idea of a case that looks refined, runs quiet, and has some horsepower. But this looks like it would be very difficult to upgrade in the future.
Hey Jay, maybe you can try adding little amazon heatsinks to the gpu memory plates? And/or modding a 80mm fan into the side bottom plate underneath the gpu?
Man no wonder they were talking about these in their conversations with the trading networks. $4700 price tag makes the shareholders happy - as long as it sells.
Dear Mr and Mrs Corsair,
In the unlikely event that you are reading this comment, then please let me congratulate you for building the first product that I would consider buying from your company.
16:11 on the front on the black line, the top black middle line one can change the color. on the bottom black middle line one can change the type of color mode. ;)
That high price is out of my price budget!
I usually think that my PC should be up to 2000 and usually above 1000, something like that.
Why no 25mm thick fans and no passive cooling blocks on the VRMs of the GPU?
i deff want to see you mess with the fans and mod it and see what it actually does to the temps
Yes, I vote fix it and show us the results! Better fans and put in a 240 AIO since it seems to have the space for it.
That ifixit ad was one of the best adverts i have seen in my 43 years of life.
You must be new here he's been doing the Ifixit ad for a while now like over a year
Damn, it's beautiful.
I want one, but it's way out of my price category.
I also finally finished my Alta G1M build, and that looks quite nifty too
The Corsair one was impressive. This thing is junk. They should have used their own gpu cpu waterblocks and modified them to attach to the radiators, making them aio's and used one of their water pumps in-between.
Try the Thermaltake Tower 300. Room for a Micro ATX board and 420 fans. Comes pre-built or just the case.
No way in heck I would even consider buying that system. Priced way the heck out of my reach.
It has enough space for a larger top down air cooler (like an L12s) and a normal air cooled GPU.
yes please do a make over for this rig
I seriously didn't expect to see such a small area being directly cooled on the GPU lol. That looks so cheap for the price you're paying. That's not nice, Corsair.
14900k on a 120mm AIO it's wild. They better off put a 240mm. Or a i7 14700k.
Great video while working verifications.
Really like the design of the case. Our entertainment center is all dark wood and metal, this would fit right in.
with the wood grain it reminds me of a VHS tape rewinder my grandfather hand in the early 90s 😂
Can't believe there are people who pay that amount of money for that. P.T. Barnum was right. There's a sucker born every minute.
I love the case and layout, but I’m not sure you even need the liquid cooler for the cpu. Plenty of room in there for a decent air cooler.
