i mean investing is a bit confusing to qualify, as i would rather not go through the fake reaching for wallet charade without actually expecting to pay it (or without consequence down the line). i'm fine paying for most/every thing, but yes - it has to be paid back in equity somewhere eventually. cannot just be a one way street.
@Cmndr Roy Fokker i'm married - wife is stay at home mom/wife. of course, i'm paying for everything. even when she is paying for something, that money probably came from me. we don't need to pretend with a charade of who is paying for what. obviously the expectation is that she carries her part of the relationship in whatever non-monetary way to make it equitable. same with dating.

Speaking as a man who is romantic,tries to treat women with respect and has a big heart,to have a girl treat you like this is devastating. Absolutely, things shouldn't be transactional, but one of the basics of human relationships is RECIPROCITY. If you're giving a girl ANYTHING, not necessarily material things, and not getting ANYTHING back, and she's not making any effort, SHE'S USING YOU.

Dehumanized is the perfect word to describe how it feels. I'm a woman who recently went on first date with a guy who started asking me a bunch of financial questions immediately. It was obvious it was all about using me for money so I lied a bit and downplayed how much money I made. He immediately walked out and never came back. Even though I dodged a bullet I went home and cried like a baby. I felt horrible about myself.
@@marybell2002 maybe he didnt want to continue the relationship if you weren't financially stable. That could make him feel like he'll have to pay for everything. I'm not saying that hes right here, I'm saying that he might have just had the same concerns as you.
@@cadewardlaw5162 We weren't in a relationship, we had just met. In the end I was relieved. He seemed like the type of man who would need the woman to wear the pants and run the show. In the past women needed men's money so it was fine for us to do everything else. Now that we are bringing money to a relationship, if the man can't cook, clean, make plans etc. he really becomes a burden.
Women don't want to be reduced to their sexually features, and men don't want to be reduced to their pocketbook. But it's a heck of a temptation for both sets, because I think the discussion around hypergamy and "male gaze" suggests that the forces are intense, and if not socialized to reduce their dominance, are catastrophic. Especially as we enter into a digital era, where the excesses of both wreck havoc on those who don't have the discipline or strength or fortune to hold out against a tidal force.
This is very important advice!! Sometimes in the moment it can be hard to tell, or when you really want a connection and downplay signs of being used
Still getting over a really toxic relationship, but really glad to see that there’s still some awesome girls out there with a moral compass lol. Learning the hard way that it’s too easy to ignore obvious red flags with really attractive girls. Trying super hard to not take the easy path and just rebound or get involved w a girl to take my mind off things. Definitely appreciate your content and all of your advice on things!

Remember, all that glitters is not gold. Every very attractive woman I have been with had issues. For an LTR, stick with the girl next door types. Most of them have their feet firmly on the ground, and if you are a high value guy, they will submit to you. A good woman will make your life easier, not more difficult.

@Cmndr Roy Fokker Most people have an agenda regardless of if it's seen or not. A lot of guys tell me, "I would never pay for sex". I then ask, "have you ever bought her dinner of put up with her bitching at you because she's hot? The answer is yes. I then say, "well then Brother, you're paying a price one way or another". My point is, even if she used you for sex because you're good at it and you got good sex in return, perhaps she did use you for that even though it was mutual. Just a perspective.

Hi Courtney, Thank you so much for this video you made. I was feeling really sad because I had cut this girl I talk too for 2 years now. I bail her out of so many bad situations. I just got tired of it. I was not getting anything of the relationship. there was constant texting because she needed my help. she only text me because she wanted a favor from me. I felt angry because she put me in the situation that I had no option but to say no. I felt like I was being taken on a guilt trip in order for this girl to get what she wanted from me. I was back on the dating scene 2yrs ago after my last break up and I’ve encountered almost every scenario you’ve mentioned from the women I’ve met on dating sites, but I was able to spot the red flags instantly because all the ones I’ve dated who had genuine intentions toward me reciprocated my favors and also took the initiative to show their appreciation in their own ways, like an equal partnership which compelled me to up my game a few notches higher for them...and I’m so grateful to have met that someone again last year who seems to be a keeper! I always found that the ladies I met who were serious, after the first date, offered in one way or another. One Tipped the Wait Staff, another paid for Dessert, and the most serious one, went so far as taking me to a much fancier place on our next date, & insisted on covering the cost. The most shallow one made me do all the driving, paying, etc.,"every time"...
Telling her NO in a firm and kind way is a quite proficient way to test her nature. A person who can't take no for an answer and keeps pushing, manipulating, pouting, and guilt-tripping is someone not worth it.
