Absolutely, things shouldn't be transactional, but one of the basics of human relationships is RECIPROCITY. If you're giving a girl ANYTHING, not necessarily material things, and not getting ANYTHING back, and she's not making any effort, SHE'S USING YOU.

Remember, all that glitters is not gold. Every very attractive woman I have been with had issues. For an LTR, stick with the girl next door types. One Tipped the Wait Staff, another paid for Dessert, and the most serious one, went so far as taking me to a much fancier place on our next date, & insisted on covering the cost. Dehumanized is the perfect word to describe how it feels. I'm a woman who recently went on first date with a guy who started asking me a bunch of financial questions immediately. It was obvious it was all about using me for money so I lied a bit and downplayed how much money I made. He immediately walked out and never came back. In the past women needed men's money so it was fine for us to do everything else. But it's a heck of a temptation for both sets, because I think the discussion around hypergamy and "male gaze" suggests that the forces are intense, and if not socialized to reduce their dominance, are catastrophic. The first one you mentioned about being hit up for favors really got me good. During college, there was this gorgeous Moroccan girl that I met through mutual friends in the cafeteria. We introduced each other and I had her laughing at all the Bengali and South Asian jokes I was making in regards to stereotypes I've been associated with and we hit it off from there. I see her in the cafeteria again and she was really happy to see me, we started talking about our life stories and then exchanged contact info. Later on she hit me up asking to help her with an assignment so I helped her out of my own free will. After helping her, she would send me heart emojis and smiles while thanking me. During the semester, she would hit me time from time with a convo then lead straight into helping with her homework. I was clueless at the time since I was heavily invested into her. Because of that she asked me out and I said yes, and was really looking forward to hanging out with her for the summer. What my dumb as did was made myself available 24/7 because I thought that would get her to like me more. One time I was in the technology center about to study for my finals and she was blowing up my phone asking to help her with an essay in class. I told her I had to study for my finals and she kept begging me. I reluctantly gave him and proceeded to helping her thinking I would get it out the way and get to my own studying. During my time in class, she would hit up my phone asking me to help her and my friends are making jokes saying to delete her number. I told her I'm not available until I got home, so when I got home is when she expected me. Mind you during the whole time, my ass was simping for her by responding right away to phone calls and texts, to being available 24/7 which I didn't realize made me weak. So when summer came around she agreed to go out with me, but bailed on me last minute the first time because she had to baby sit her sister's kids. So I forgave her and went on with my life. Then she agreed to hang out with me the second time, but bailed on me last minute saying that she got stuck at work. So I took it in me to not curse her out but forgive her. Keep in mind as I was texting her and calling her, she wasn't reciprocating. Then her and I made plans to hang out for the third time and of course she bailed on me again. That's when I realized that this girl really wasn't into me at all because she only wanted me for favors and didn't treat me like a 1st prize like I did her. So when she hit me up asking for help, I told her no and when she begged I said no again causing her to get mad. After that I deleted her number and removed her on Facebook so I'm not reminding of her toxic personality and like to keep it that way. And by the way, I was also a dumb ass for not talking to other girls because I kept thinking that this girl would be the one without realizing what my other options would be. So moral of the story is to not be available 24/7, don't place your eggs in 1 basket, set boundaries, don't be so responsive to calls or texts if she doesn't do the same, and don't put in any time or effort if she isn't reciprocating the same thing. I've learned my lesson from that experience.
Stories like this give me optimism that there are some smart guys out there. Most telling is that you say that you regret the time and energy you put into a fruitless relationship. It shows you value yourself which is the number one positive attitude in life in general and especially in dealing with women. Good Man!

She said oh we can hang out once semester over we not as busy and guess what? Her grandpa fell first time for a date she didnt come I was like ok that happened. then she kept saying she was busy then she said "Why are you texting me bro, I dont know who number this is." I called her blocked me then I called her on another phone she heard my voice and hung up. Lesson Learned. Then when school came back into next semester heard she dropped out and was already in a lot of debt. Ehh maybe she had a lot of stress from school and debt but that aint my problem.

Good points listed! I mean.... if the girl is obviously taking ur money.. its a no go. Oh! I wanna add....... I genuinely texted guys as a friend, and talk about the difficulties of dating, or about manga, anime, games........ but then afterwards he wanted to have a relationship.... So I say no. (At this point he lived in a different country as me and I hate long distance plus I never thought of this dude as anything other than a friend). We still talked once in a while till he accused me of stringing him along for attention. This annoyed me since I didn't talk to him for attention, I do that to have a friendship. So if you are catching feelings, either for girls or guys, and one side isn't interested, its best to just stop contact for a while, or else both sides will ultimately feel hurt. I was pretty annoyed by his comment "your using me for attention". I apologized right away that he felt that way, then said "I won't text you no more", and blocked him. Maybe my reaction was too strong but.. I think the results are for the best, no need to make anyone feel salty or mad over past feelings.

Trust me... Courtney knows exactly what she is talking about If you suddenly out of the blue stop doing whatever it is you're doing for her and she notices it, she will probably seem awfully interested right there and then and lose interest very quickly on the other hand, if she is anything like wonderful Miss. This experience actually happened to me quite recently. A friend of mine who I've known since middle school, brought her car into my work for something concerning with her ABS system. After the car was repaired I personally called her up to ask how the vehicle was doing and the conversation went on for about 30 minutes and from the car to how her and her family was doing and vice versa. Knowing she was recently single from a 5 year relationship I asked if she wanted to go grab a drink, just to catch up on things, which at the time she seemed interested. Fast forward about 3 weeks later I started noticing patterns. She would constantly ignore my texts and phone calls.....until she needed something done to her car. I muted our texting conversation and haven't responded back since..... I felt like I was being used and the thing that stung was this was a girl I had known since 6th grade..... ouch.
hard lesson learned. You didnt mention if you fixed her car for free? People that only contact you when they need something but never to hang out or do something nice for you if you did something nice for them is a huge red flag. it's 50/50 all the time except for times i will treat you and that i will tell in advance. Years later at 23 we talk on and off just as friends I help her move furniture one day and she invited me back over we talk kick it and she ask me am i attracted to her I said yes she let me touch her we was gone be intimate then but I had no protection so I went to store to get some and she says on my way back “I have a headache I’m sorry I need to rest I’ll let you know when I feel better.” Fair enough I’m not crazy I say sure I can wait till you feel better. Weeks go by she never let me know when we can be intimate. So I ask and flirt when are you ready and she said “I am no longer interested in what you have to offer”. One week before that she asked me to take pics of her at her place I did nothing raunchy but she told me the pics were for her only fans page. So after she shut down my advances I cut her off she texts every year or so just saying hi I keep it cordial. Now I didn’t wanna date her seriously but even back then I was like how you go from letting me touch all over you to I’m no longer interested in such a flash. It was to get me to chase her and get me to do more stuff for her. 3 years later she’s 100 lbs heavier weed addicted and had to move back in with her father cause she was in too much debt she went back for a masters degree for 50k debt still on a social worker salary. I’m in the best shape of my life now and I screen women out so much better now. So from now on the girl gotta pay her share after a few dates. What a crucial life skill I wish I was taught at 13,16,19 vs learned at 25. Thanks for this! I have a couple of random thoughts in no particular order. First concerns paying for everything. The second concerns paying her bills. Concerning the first, my GF while I was in the Navy at Pearl Harbor (she was Navy too, but at a different command), I'd pay for everything when we went out. HOWEVER! She'd often cook dinner for me too, and she was a good cook. How good? She later attended culinary school-'nuff said! At times, I'd do more; at times, she did more. I think that if there's an overall fair give & take over time, that's fine. When it comes to paying bills, if I just met someone online and she asks, it's an automatic no. I tell her that we haven't met, haven't kissed, let alone started a relationship (as in real life, i.e. in person), then I say nuts to that. It's one thing if you're in a relationship and you help your GF or BF, as the case may be; it's another thing altogether to hit someone up when you haven't even met in person, let alone formed a relationship. Late for me, so i'll be brief, but the first sounds equitable in the give and take. Sounds honestly pretty wholesome. In that latter though... I don't understand it. If I've not even kissed a given girl, what makes you think I'm paying for her electricity? (and not YOU, you, but the hypothetical golddigger.) I then ask, "have you ever bought her dinner of put up with her bitching at you because she's hot? The answer is yes. I then say, "well then Brother, you're paying a price one way or another". My point is, even if she used you for sex because you're good at it and you got good sex in return, perhaps she did use you for that even though it was mutual. Just a perspective.

I always found that the ladies I met who were serious, after the first date, offered in one way or another. One Tipped the Wait Staff, another paid for Dessert, and the most serious one, went so far as taking me to a much fancier place on our next date, & insisted on covering the cost. It was obvious it was all about using me for money so I lied a bit and downplayed how much money I made. He immediately walked out and never came back. In the past women needed men's money so it was fine for us to do everything else. Now that we are bringing money to a relationship, if the man can't cook, clean, make plans etc. he really becomes a burden.
Women don't want to be reduced to their sexually features, and men don't want to be reduced to their pocketbook. But it's a heck of a temptation for both sets, because I think the discussion around hypergamy and "male gaze" suggests that the forces are intense, and if not socialized to reduce their dominance, are catastrophic. Especially as we enter into a digital era, where the excesses of both wreck havoc on those who don't have the discipline or strength or fortune to hold out against a tidal force.
The first one you mentioned about being hit up for favors really got me good. During college, there was this gorgeous Moroccan girl that I met through mutual friends in the cafeteria. We introduced each other and I had her laughing at all the Bengali and South Asian jokes I was making in regards to stereotypes I've been associated with and we hit it off from there. I see her in the cafeteria again and she was really happy to see me, we started talking about our life stories and then exchanged contact info. Later on she hit me up asking to help her with an assignment so I helped her out of my own free will. After helping her, she would send me heart emojis and smiles while thanking me. During the semester, she would hit me time from time with a convo then lead straight into helping with her homework. I was clueless at the time since I was heavily invested into her. Because of that she asked me out and I said yes, and was really looking forward to hanging out with her for the summer. What my dumb as did was made myself available 24/7 because I thought that would get her to like me more. One time I was in the technology center about to study for my finals and she was blowing up my phone asking to help her with an essay in class. I told her I had to study for my finals and she kept begging me. I reluctantly gave him and proceeded to helping her thinking I would get it out the way and get to my own studying. During my time in class, she would hit up my phone asking me to help her and my friends are making jokes saying to delete her number. I told her I'm not available until I got home, so when I got home is when she expected me. Mind you during the whole time, my ass was simping for her by responding right away to phone calls and texts, to being available 24/7 which I didn't realize made me weak. So when summer came around she agreed to go out with me, but bailed on me last minute the first time because she had to baby sit her sister's kids. So I forgave her and went on with my life. Then she agreed to hang out with me the second time, but bailed on me last minute saying that she got stuck at work. So I took it in me to not curse her out but forgive her. Keep in mind as I was texting her and calling her, she wasn't reciprocating. Then her and I made plans to hang out for the third time and of course she bailed on me again. That's when I realized that this girl really wasn't into me at all because she only wanted me for favors and didn't treat me like a 1st prize like I did her. So when she hit me up asking for help, I told her no and when she begged I said no again causing her to get mad. After that I deleted her number and removed her on Facebook so I'm not reminding of her toxic personality and like to keep it that way. And by the way, I was also a dumb ass for not talking to other girls because I kept thinking that this girl would be the one without realizing what my other options would be. So moral of the story is to not be available 24/7, don't place your eggs in 1 basket, set boundaries, don't be so responsive to calls or texts if she doesn't do the same, and don't put in any time or effort if she isn't reciprocating the same thing. I've learned my lesson from that experience.
Stories like this give me optimism that there are some smart guys out there. Most telling is that you say that you regret the time and energy you put into a fruitless relationship. It shows you value yourself which is the number one positive attitude in life in general and especially in dealing with women. Good Man!

She said oh we can hang out once semester over we not as busy and guess what? Her grandpa fell first time for a date she didnt come I was like ok that happened. then she kept saying she was busy then she said "Why are you texting me bro, I dont know who number this is." I called her blocked me then I called her on another phone she heard my voice and hung up. Lesson Learned. Then when school came back into next semester heard she dropped out and was already in a lot of debt. Ehh maybe she had a lot of stress from school and debt but that aint my problem.

Good points listed! I mean.... if the girl is obviously taking ur money.. its a no go. Oh! I wanna add....... I genuinely texted guys as a friend, and talk about the difficulties of dating, or about manga, anime, games........ but then afterwards he wanted to have a relationship.... So I say no. (At this point he lived in a different country as me and I hate long distance plus I never thought of this dude as anything other than a friend). We still talked once in a while till he accused me of stringing him along for attention. This annoyed me since I didn't talk to him for attention, I do that to have a friendship. So if you are catching feelings, either for girls or guys, and one side isn't interested, its best to just stop contact for a while, or else both sides will ultimately feel hurt. I was pretty annoyed by his comment "your using me for attention". I apologized right away that he felt that way, then said "I won't text you no more", and blocked him. Maybe my reaction was too strong but.. I think the results are for the best, no need to make anyone feel salty or mad over past feelings.

This experience actually happened to me quite recently. A friend of mine who I've known since middle school, brought her car into my work for something concerning with her ABS system. After the car was repaired I personally called her up to ask how the vehicle was doing and the conversation went on for about 30 minutes and from the car to how her and her family was doing and vice versa. Knowing she was recently single from a 5 year relationship I asked if she wanted to go grab a drink, just to catch up on things, which at the time she seemed interested. Fast forward about 3 weeks later I started noticing patterns. She would constantly ignore my texts and phone calls.....until she needed something done to her car. I muted our texting conversation and haven't responded back since..... I felt like I was being used and the thing that stung was this was a girl I had known since 6th grade..... ouch.
hard lesson learned. You didnt mention if you fixed her car for free? People that only contact you when they need something but never to hang out or do something nice for you if you did something nice for them is a huge red flag. it's 50/50 all the time except for times i will treat you and that i will tell in advance. Dont crush on girls for a long time lingering as a friend they will use you up they kinda know you want them and you tryna backdoor your way into a relationship.

Now granted we was like 19 when she said that I never forgot it. Years later at 23 we talk on and off just as friends I help her move furniture one day and she invited me back over we talk kick it and she ask me am i attracted to her I said yes she let me touch her we was gone be intimate then but I had no protection so I went to store to get some and she says on my way back “I have a headache I’m sorry I need to rest I’ll let you know when I feel better.” Fair enough I’m not crazy I say sure I can wait till you feel better. Weeks go by she never let me know when we can be intimate. So I ask and flirt when are you ready and she said “I am no longer interested in what you have to offer”. One week before that she asked me to take pics of her at her place I did nothing raunchy but she told me the pics were for her only fans page. So after she shut down my advances I cut her off she texts every year or so just saying hi I keep it cordial. Now I didn’t wanna date her seriously but even back then I was like how you go from letting me touch all over you to I’m no longer interested in such a flash. It was to get me to chase her and get me to do more stuff for her. 3 years later she’s 100 lbs heavier weed addicted and had to move back in with her father cause she was in too much debt she went back for a masters degree for 50k debt still on a social worker salary. I’m in the best shape of my life now and I screen women out so much better now. I don’t chase anyone and a woman MUST invest In the relationship $$ 50/50 dates etc. I’ll treat early on first 3 dates if I asked her out or even if she asks me out but after that she gotta put in. Biggest sign she’s using you is she craves your attention, but won’t agree to plans. Also another huge one is her words and actions never align. Getting cut off so easily as well shows the words never meant anything

Girl I knew used me years back for money twice i didn't like that. After that, I left her cut off contact with her. I never saw her again. That's one of the reasons why I'm single cause I know how they are. Some girls are shady and some aren't. Thanks for the tip, Courtney.

Thanks for this! I have a couple of random thoughts in no particular order. First concerns paying for everything. The second concerns paying her bills.
Concerning the first, my GF while I was in the Navy at Pearl Harbor (she was Navy too, but at a different command), I'd pay for everything when we went out. HOWEVER! She'd often cook dinner for me too, and she was a good cook. How good? She later attended culinary school-'nuff said! At times, I'd do more; at times, she did more. I think that if there's an overall fair give & take over time, that's fine.
When it comes to paying bills, if I just met someone online and she asks, it's an automatic no. I tell her that we haven't met, haven't kissed, let alone started a relationship (as in real life, i.e. in person), then I say nuts to that. It's one thing if you're in a relationship and you help your GF or BF, as the case may be; it's another thing altogether to hit someone up when you haven't even met in person, let alone formed a relationship. They don't stick around too long if you say no to their BS.
I could say so much more, but it's late and I need to get to bed. Thanks for your videos... :)
Late for me, so i'll be brief, but the first sounds equitable in the give and take. Sounds honestly pretty wholesome.
In that latter though... I don't understand it. If I've not even kissed a given girl, what makes you think I'm paying for her electricity? (and not YOU, you, but the hypothetical golddigger.) Again, there's a thing of commitment, and at the least of cohabitation (much as it's considered illadvised) that suggests there's some greater bargain and commitment, as opposed to a favor that one forgot to cancel the autorenew.

Let me just say also, the genuine outrage you showed when talking about some girls charging money to guys to text them was pretty cool. It shows you actually like men, I think there's a lot of girls who try to use men but who don't actually like men in their hearts. And the truth is the same for some guys who don't actually love women, they only want to get something from them.
