“Remove scratches from gauge cluster”. You got me right there.
Just an idea and possibly worth the investment if scratches are a pet peeve. But Screen Pro Tech make fantastic screen protectors for the Tacoma among other trucks. It comes in a kit for your instrument gauge, shifter gauge, as well as your touchscreen. Happy hunting.
Thanks brother! A few guys had mentioned those, gonna have to look into them at some point 😎
I'm happy that I put screen protectors on truck. I got them before I received my truck and installed them the next day.
Nice! Where did ya get those at?
I use a swiffer duster to clean mine but this is great to know down the road.
not a bad move!
Very nice. After almost 4 years mine has a few fine scratches too. I even knew it was easy to scratch when I get the truck. This was well talked about on Tacoma World. Most then bought the screen protector for it and the radio but its is like $55-70 depending on options you pick and looks tricky to install. I may have to try this product on it.
Yeah I was wondering about those protectors… pricey! This stuff polishes it and cleans it right up! Use it on my polymer watch faces.
@teamoildrop I'm always careful when cleaning it to vacuum first too and use a freshly cleaned microfiber cloth that hasn't been used anywhere else on the truck first when cleaning that still it can scratch. Definitely going to by this. It probably can be used on fogged headlights too I bet.
Wish there was a rubber grommet where the pusher goes through the plastic guage cover...so much dust infiltrates to the inside.
I know it. Km going to solve this here soon for under a $1
thank you for your videos
Our pleasure!
Thanks for being part of the team!
Amazing. Thank you. I’ve seen a screen protector product made for the cluster that might be a good idea to put on after doing this to prevent future scratches. If I had a link handy I’d post it.
I’ve heard of some PRICEY ones from other commenters but I’ll say it’s not needed (in my opinion) if you have a good polish like this. 2016 truck with plenty of dirt road time here.
@@teamoildrop I feel that. If the price was reasonable I’d consider it to not have to polish again in the future. But also where’s the fun in not working on our trucks ;)

Seems like I've been waiting the last 63 months for this video because that's when I bought my '19.
That bezel seemed to have scuffed up with the most gentle of microfiber towel it's ridiculous.
Yes, it can be very annoying. Wonderful to hear you found it useful.
Greg
Holy crap, this is something I've always wondered about. I don't know how mine it gets scratched, I use a microfiber towel, and plexus to keep it clean, but it still does.
I originally bought this stuff for plastic watch faces but realized it’s also the best thing I could find on the market for this as well. Really good stuff. Used for years on various things.
Hell yea👍
🍻
I put the screen protector kit (Screen ProTech, about $40) on my instrument cluster, Info system and shifter and the scratches are gone and never had any more. I clean it with a Swiffer, and it looks brand new.
Wonderful tip......any install tips?
Greg
@@teamoildrop Peal, soap solution, razor out the bubbles and let dry for 24 hours
TOD's method here and the Screen Protector look like both excellent solutions. I did the Screen Pro Tech year or two ago. Install was not that bad. It looks amazing and how it "takes out" those damn tiny scratches.
Have you tried Plexus? That's my goto plastic polisher but I haven't tried the Novus you used.
Ya know I have not but you are the second to mention it now... may check out!
What about Polywatch? Supposedly works great on watches.
Can’t say I’ve tried it, however I bought this specifically for watches after reading reviews and found a great dual use with it here
I'm curious............What's with the zip tie on your windshield wiper control handle?
It allows me to control my wipers with a cable system I have tied to my big toe... nah, its holding a phone charger cord I used to use before moving it to a better spot
@@teamoildrop LOL! 😝There it is. Good content as I've been catching up on your latest vids, but I hadn't had LOL yet ..."wimp" comment on your test drive was tempting but this one brought the cow home.

Its cheap crap plastic that toyota uses, the real fix is to purchase a new clean bezel from toyota and throw on a screenprotech screen protector. Even using a blower or compressor air can scratch that thing, love my truck but some of the plastics they use are complete junk
I hear ya. A good polish like this will make it look new, but it’s only a matter of time.
