Wow wow I want to watch this tutorial endlessly. I have learnt so much. I don't know if I ever will be able to emulate it but it's so satisfying to watch the ocean waves come to life.
Wow Dave! You just explained how I used to wonder how to get the transparency of the yellow-green color in the crest of the waves. Been considering how to do that but never quite got it... You're a gem! Thank you
I love watching you paint sea, water and sky it always starts where I think nah whats that and then with the magic of your brush strokes something wonderful emerges. This is wonderful, I also love the one behind with the boat and of course the special photo bomb is the best 😅😊 thank you for sharing
Very impressed with your teaching method. I'm finally learning very useful tips and will definitely be using your method for my ocean painting. Many thanks. 😊
Hi Mr. David nice to see you thank you that you send to me your amazing art i love it i learn more too God bless you i wish you a nice Summer time to enjoy😍😘🙏😇❤🙋
Wowzer! My first lesson sir. I loved the mediums you used n especially the medium you used half way. But of course i will have to see again and take notes. Very pretty ocean! Thank you.❤
Thank you for your beautiful and skilful art lessons. It brings joy to my soul and hope that one day, with enough practice and patience I will be able to paint like this. Greetings from Bucharest, Romania.

@@JansenArtEducation I think about midfield. I want to be able to see some of the details on the ship and the sails. Have kind of big waves splashing the bow. To show that it's under way. It's in my head, getting it on canvas will take some patience. 😊
I love this one! I'm a little behind on vids. Life has knocked us for a loop but I just need to roll with the punches! I'm gonna try to do something similar because a stormy scene has mesning with my current situations
Fascinating how the tones come alive with such beautiful interest David! Love the idea of glazing initially too. Many thanks! Some day I'm wondering if you could include a few distant birds flying in the sky as that's something I have not tackled yet.♥🥀

Hi Jason! No, we did not get to meet Helen. However, David has studied her techniques and lessons. Her knowledge was inspiring. Her lesson, timeless. So glad you know about her too. MJ 😊
Awesome painting! When you talk about extender is that a medium that thins paint so it dries faster, and open medium is a retarder that slows drying? Also, are you using soft or heavy body paint, or both? Cheers
Both Extender and Open Medium slow down the drying time of the paint. Many painting techniques use consistency of the paint to achieve the technique. I like Extender in shadows because shadows in alla prima techniques should be more transparent, thin. I like Open Medium in highlights where you using the paint heavier and more opaque.. Both slow down the drying time.

What exactly is the acrylic sealant that was used? Can't find it at your art store unless it has a different name?
