    The built is great. But what I want to mention is that you explain the essential steps and leave out everything else. This makes it more compact and you still get everything that is important. Thank you!

    I wish you would explain in more detail how you put this together. I cannot figure out how you start. You put slices on wood and don’t explain what you’re putting it on!!
    One board? Four cut boards? If so how wide ? Which wood ?
    Help!!!

    • @rswoodland8162
      @rswoodland8162  Рік тому

      You can find answer to all your questions in the movie but you need to watch it carefully. Anyway I will try to help you.
      0:24 - diagram shows you what wood goes first
      0:30 - it shows that I start from elm and mahoganny. I show it and say how many board you would need plus dimensions
      0:35- I say I start first layer with maple
      I hope it helps and you will enjoy your board when you finish it 😉

    The 2 finished boards at the 4:13 mark. Are the core boards (20 mm) the same species? Or is one mahogany and the other elm. This tumbling block pattern is very cool

    • @rswoodland8162
      @rswoodland8162  Рік тому

      Mahoganny and elm. 0:24 on the clip you can see a drawing. Look at mahoganny in the core, it turns to elm after 3 seconds. I should separate that 2 photos. In the clip they look like 1. I still do better boards than video clips 😀

    Nice work.
    Have done a few 'magic eye boards'.
    Biggest mistake for me - - - - used too much mineral oil for finish. The wood soaked up the repeated applications eagerly. Then the hydraulic pressure inside the material overpowered the glue and caused split a few of the seams.

    • @rswoodland8162
      @rswoodland8162  Рік тому

      Sorry to hear that. I have had no problems with splits but I do not use too much mineral oil and I do it always min 48 hrs after gluing
