I would love to see Ibanez Vintage Violin, or PRS McCarty Glow attempted. Those are some fantastic, amber honey brown bursts that just look "to die for"
Thanks Derek, another great job with an awesome piece of wood, I'm really partial to green, so I'd enjoy any project with that color - Cheers from Canada
Amazing! Another rocking piece as always. Makes me want to sing..2Bourbons, No Scotch, 1Beer!! How about a Beer burst study as request….Larger Burst, IPA Burst, Abbey Burst, Stout Burst…Thanks for yet another amazing video and even better piece!
@@bigdguitars if seen liked! Thanks a bunch again. Finally did the guitarlele in butterfly seaweed burst! Too dark and pretty for other name🤣. Thanks for the tips and inspiration from the hulk you did!
Hey bigd I have been wanting to get with you on a little project I'm working on basically I have a guitar body I want either a flame or quilted cap put on what is the best way to converse with you on that
I love the way this turned out and want to do something like this. I have a hollow body veneer guitar so I can't sand much. It is a Pitbull ES-3 with what I believe is baswood. Any Suggestions?
Do you think you could do a pink/aqua fade? I was thinking pink on top and the aqua on the bottom with a natural/white band between the two. Maybe the colors would be the most vibrant at the top and bottom And fade into the natural/white in the middle? Also I was thinking quilted maple. Something like an ocean sunset burst.
I’ve been waiting for a new staining tutorial. Great to see this video. Also I am missing your live feed. I will check my settings but when do you usually go live? Thanks Bryan
For most of the duration of the vid i thank that the stain lacked warmth, perhaps a bit of orange/red in the brown. Then the steelwool and finish corrected that feel, bringing a bit of vibrance and warmth... But at the end the glass of Bourbon shown that the perceived lack was real. It is more toasted bread burst than bourbon burst.
@@bigdguitars Sure. I prefer Bourbon. But, to me, visually, this one lack a bit in the ABV department. ;-) But nice anyway, i'm just kidding . Edit: It's more Pure Malt Scotch than Bourbon. ? Just a color/name thing. I do like your barrel guitars , not more "warm" colorwise ...
hello can you recommend me a valid alternative like the : Mohawk M102-0413 Pre-Catalyzed Sanding Sealer M102-0413 but what can I find in Italy? this is not available unfortunately
Just now found your channel. Was wondering if you had vids for stripping paint away? Got a tele in 2 tone burst, but I wanna remove that and make it, what I call Berry Burst lol
I have to ask, what colors would you use to do a Cobra Burst? I believe that line is Gold top, and says so on the paper work, but I swear it looks like platinum or Amber.
Great looking body. Every time I watch your videos I think " well this time he's not going to be able to make it look good". But you always do! Keep the great videos coming, please.
I'm thinking about building my own body. Wondering if anyone has tips for a wood to use that won't break the bank. I want to use Maple but all I can find is Rock Maple near me. Is Alder or maybe Ash a better alternative?
Many thank. I just done a Bourbon Burst this morning for my UA-cam build, after watching yours. I normally tint the lacquers. So it was a nice enjoy change. Best wishes from South Wales UK. Mike
300 dollars for a spray paint finish?? Never touch a piece with your bare hands right before you spray it geez. Dont you realize that stuff doesnt stick to the oils that are on your hands..

That came out really well. Nice to see how you evened out the few spots that didn't want to color the same as the rest.
yea was surprised how much came out of that.
That is a beautiful burst pattern and color.
Turned out better than I thought it would once you started playing with the dye. Nice!
needed a little playing
Awesome looking burst!!!
Truely awesome!!! Love it!
Beautiful as always. Talent, Brother

This was for you! Buy it hahah.

D- do you ever spray sanding sealer before you dye?
Looks great, as always.
Thank you! Cheers!
It’s funny I came up with an idea for a Bourbon Burst as well, though it’s more on the lighter orange-brown side.
Looks awesome, love the color!
Thank you! Cheers!

The finished front certainly highlights that great looking drop top, as it should. Nice work; thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it
What gauge of steel wool do you use?
Very nice! The outside video looked like the top had taken on some orange or reddish coloring? Yeah, drop it in a glass with some ice!
yea the top base was orange ish.
Gorgeous grain though
What is your neutral chemical?
