I had a question. I have a tele with a figured veneer that I am working on. I have applied the dye finish, I have scraped and cleaned up the binding and I am ready to use the Mohawk sanding sealer on the top. I was thinking I would leave the back and sides natural and just grain fill with Aqua Coat. When that is done, do I need to use sanding sealer on that as well or just the top and then use the top coat on top and bottom? Your videos are amazing, lots of inspiration for us nooks!!
Would love to see you explaining how to make a « désert gradient » (tequila sunrise) stain! Looking forward to make this finish on a guitar I will build next month!! Great job ❤️❤️❤️
Looks good up to that straight line even with the pickup rout. Why didn't you blend the lighter stain with the medium stsin like you did with the dark to medium?
What happens when you don't stain? In the video when you first apply the brown, the unstained bit looks better. What would it look like if you either just went straight to clear, or black and sand back then to clear?
Great job ! I would like to try the Velvit oil and have been reading about it. The rags/paper used are spontaneously combustable like the Wipe On Poly finish. I hope you are being careful.
I know I said something akin to "too many teles" in the last video... I'd be honestly surprised they'd sell significantly more than strats. Not really what I'd expect!
I’m a fan of amber front dark backs…That first light brown would’ve been my choice for whole body.. not a fan of the fades. Otherwise beautifully done!

Always enjoy watching you stain a beautiful piece of wood - cheers from Canada
You aren't the only one who likes to watch this Dude rub wood.

The figure in that top is top shelf! I don't mind the color at all. Great stuff.

I tried sanding more
I think that color combo looks fantastic. Maybe a bit better if the middle color was brought down a bit more, but overall it's really cool.
I’m curious as to why you dont use the neutral more I find it helps blend things a lot better.
whats your technique for blending colors together? My angelus dyes seem to dry up before i can start smearing two edges together
