They know. But this would mean kids buying submarines and feeling very skilled because of it would no longer feel skilled. And this would result in less money from said kids for Wargaming.
What do you mean? DW torps can hit subs? they aren't much better than regular torps, but slightly lower in the water helps.

They are low enough to hit a sub on periscope depth. Subs on periscope depth can still ram DDs IRL after all.
No, that would be stupid since Deep torps swim at about 10-15m depth, Subs when they dive is 30m underwater ! How the fck could it hit them ?
As a Taiwanese (native Chinese speaker), the kunming is 昆明, a city in China. In terms of pronounciation, it sounds more like “quen Ming “

Definitely an interesting concept, trades a lot of concealment and gunpower for a stupid amount of torps. Looks like it's gonna be quite weak against destroyers (thanks to conceal, bad guns and torpedo spotting), but old Shimakaze wall of skill levels of stupid if left unattended.
It's basically a double Shimakaze with invisible torps, it's insane

This game a pretty good example of the issues the PA DDs and CLs face: you can rack up a lot of damage kiting a weak flank, but very difficult to make a positive game impact.
That boat with a Gearing would be a mighty combo together.
I've been taking a break from the game for about a year. Just before super ships were introduced. Played my first game last night after wanting to play after binging your videos. Looking forward to playing these super ships :)
Now I know why WG is not releasing Kitakami any time soon

@@issacfoster1113 I think the reasoning back then was that it did too much friendly damage, but now with that concern gone it is a possible choice on the table. But they also hate IJN in general so idk
@@forge16hanadamaintenancedr43 The Kitakami wasn't as good as people think it was. I remember fighting that ship in beta and it could not stealth torp, it was really squishy, and it was CV food. It could dump a lot of torps, but they had terrible range for japanese torpedoes, and it would not thrive in the meta today. I always believed that they never released it simply because it was a gimmick ship before gimmick ships existed, and it did not perform well enough to justify selling it (back when they actually still cared about that).

I feel like Yueyang can do the same things as this without sacrificing half a km of concealment. The additional torp rack is nice but I feel a ship that relies heavily on it’s torps can’t afford to lose that stealth.
EDIT: (Not running legendary mod cause that would be stupid to run along with a torp build)

So many ships designed specifically designed to punish any aggressive BB play... CVs, SSs. Sometimes I feel like the game is incentivizing me to play passive long range sniper or not play BB at all...

As someone who really enjoys YY I am excited for this ship. Think I have a great PR in YY right now witch is surprising giving todays meta.
First time I ever heard him was narrating over a Sandy Ravage call of duty video. Buddies used to show me clips at work to get me into the game and I remember this particular video blew up and nobody knew the voice in the background talking over Sandy's gameplay. It's epic and it is still on You tube

Nice content, On the reticule I have 4 values. One of them (lower right) is showing current detection range. Not even sure how to disable that.
One of the Supers im looking forward to the most. Will definitaly go for Superintendent for that extra TRB and 30 torp salvo rather then investing in BFT for a small buff to mediocre guns.
We already have torpedo salad in randoms, 2x more torps in the water compared to few years ago. Now I am looking forward to minefields with 50k alpha dmg per hit.

I like this boat, but wish the torps were homing, could curve around islands, always auto targeted CVs and subs, and had a 5 second reload. Oh and you dont have to see the sub or CV.
Shell arcs look nice too
this ship contradicts itself.
add a turret for 8 guns = awesome gunboat. make the reload slow and have floaty shells = poor gunboat
give it 15 deep water torps with rlb = awesome torpboat. make the concealment relatively poor = poor torpboat.

HEY WARGAMING! I want my damn KitaKami back!!!!!!!!!!! Now that you have put these DD's with damn near as many Torp's on a couple of other DD in the game now a days!
While superships might be fun for some, maybe WG should keep them in their own mode. It’s really hard when there is 4 or 5 superships on each side and then you get a CV and or sub in the mix. I’m not playing subs or superships. Love playing DD’s so I am working on getting a Vampire II. But that is kinda like a supership, or a different type of DARING.
Which mod do you use in the bottom left, where you can see the angle of your ship vs the angle of the enemy ship?
Should be the Navigator mod. You can place it in center view and a little to the right of center also. Should be available both in Modstation and Aslains.

Must be aslain because I can't find it in Modstation, this exact oine I mean. I have Battle Expert, but it looks very different and can't be moved around. Aslain is safe to use also I guess?
@@marthijnz. Yes, Aslain has been around for a long time and does an excellent job keeping the mods up-to-date or removing them if they're not so that you can still continue to use the modpack.

Im like the unluckiest person with torps. Everyone else gets BB's turning out broadside while I get Yamatos that can stop on a dime or pull hard 90° turns right before my gearing torps hit.

Honestly, that display is why I think super ships are ruining the game. The Humphreys, this new one you just played, even the other super DD's are just too OP to be in randoms with the normal ships in general. I love the torpedo reload booster on my YY, But I would gladly give it up to get rid of every super ship and subs.

Pan-Asian deepwater torpedoes should, IMO, hit submerged U-boats and MAYBE even Supership/Tier 11/* Tier destroyers. Asashio's torpedos should maybe stick to BBs and CVs, but also hit max depth subs.
USS *Iowa* had a draft of 37 ft, USS *Balao* had a draft of 16 ft when running on the surface. So any torpedo that is within 8 ft of a submerged USS *Balao*'s depth would make contact with it. I don't think there's a depth mechanic for deepwater torpedoes to check the draft of the ship, I think they're just hard-coded to only detonate when contacting ships of the classes they're "allowed" to hit.
But if a DW torpedo from *Yueyang* can hit an *Iowa*-class, then they are apparently running about 35 ft deep. If a *Cachalot* is between 27 ft and 42 ft deep, then the *Yueyang* torpedo would make contact with the ship.

PQ didn't play WoWS in the beginning. There was a Japanese torp monster - I forgot its name (Kitakami?) - which might have been the first ship pulled after go-live. They removed it in the first year IIRC. So 7+ years later we've come full circle. Now WoWS sees power creep as a money maker, an assumption likely made in desperation. If only WoWS would realize that the surest path to player growth is fixing all extant issues. An industry leader would go this way and then monetize a solid platform.
FYI - power creep has ALWAYS been part of WGs monetization strategy.
It's just getting more transparent.

These 'super' ships appear to evidence a slightly tighter, faster turning circle around the drain for this game.

This is not a typical ship build you put together. You put a special 21 point commander on the ship. I am sure the ship is broken enough without it. Looks like WG can't wait to kill this game with all the rapid fire gimics it keeps pushing out...

i have to say its really getting bonkers with those superships. SO much power and you can face T9s.
Its kinda unfair having full divisons of them just pounding youre face in with any means to stop that. It like i am a NPC just there to get his ass kicked in. shouldnt be allowed. Same for having 5 on each side. its wild and a waste of time to play such a lobby - no fun allowed.
That's not "too many torpedoes", that's "just right by WG's logic".

Superships are another reason why I quit playing the game. I'm not grinding credits or purchasing them in order to play these ships. And I have no interest in playing my T-Xs against them just to be their cannon fodder. Thanks but no thanks.

NA has really good players and a LOT of really bad ones. A lot of the time the games come down to who's potatoes survive longer.

Superships not a problem, they are similar with how T7 vs T9 if you are T9. However tier 9 vs 11 not mean end of the world, I could still wreck them or at least playing with them even against super CV.
Playing against T11 is like playing with their T10 with little bit of tweaks. how to say, for example against satsuma with BBs which I have mindset "oh, shikishima with additional turret and f key so the distance to kite is similar with shiki and yama" or with yamagiri which I have mindset that she is shimakaze.
Superships not that scary tho if you experience as bottom tiered
