    Really love his perspective regarding equipment. "If I don't have it, I don't worry about it." I'm just getting into photography and it's really hard to decide what kind of gear to get, especially when you're on a budget. I'm guessing that this is a rookie thing, but I've always thought that I need a high aperture lens to take great pictures; clearly, this isn't the case! At the end of the day, photography should be a fun thing to do and we should just make the best of the equipment we have! :)

      Josh as said you hit the nail. In the beginning i had to work hard with the kit lens. Was great. It forces you to think about everything extra hard. Then some friends needed pictures. And they paid a little bit. Then i bought a second hand lens and started building more and more. Must admit begin days the beginning was cool!

      @@samirzekanovic4127 I look back at my earlier work and now appreciate how much work I put into making the most of the cheap kit lenses I had at the time. The videography often looked better than the photography, which should make us aware that soon the video will be where we pull our still frames from. I mean, 108MP phone cameras already. "Photography" will become even more about your "eye", your ability to select and crop and edit interesting moments.

    Asian cities definitely are the street photography hubs. Cuz they are safe to to that even during the midnight in an alley. If you do the same thing at the same time in NYC or LA, you are 100% taking the risk, I never do street photography at night in NYC, cuz I don't want my camera or my personal items get robbed !!!!

    • @LukaszPalkaPhoto
      @LukaszPalkaPhoto 4 роки тому +2

      True, but it doesn't have to be midnight for it to be night time. In the winter it gets dark at like 5/6pm no?

    • @glassmetal4130
      @glassmetal4130 4 роки тому +1

      @@LukaszPalkaPhoto Yes, it is getting dark around 5pm right now, but after the daylight saving, day time will last longer. Making street photography in the evening in NYC is still safe.But I think , for street photography, NYC daytime is much better than the night time. Cuz NYC doesn't have that many colorful neon lights in the city like Tokyo,Hong Kong or other Asian cities.

      @WoolFlannel awesome thank you very much. i THINK watching "camera conspiracy" dude using the 10-24 at wides it does start to distort the buildings in the back ground but the main subject's face looks fine.
      what's strange is that i saw the a6600 (one of them with ibis) and the stabilization is just really bad every where even on the main subject.
      so i think for the H1 with wide angle lens it might distort architecture back ground but the main subject looks fine.
      if there's warping every where then maybe that would be the post process warping stabilization in moments where there's really too much movement when shooting.
      just my best guess.

    Another great video, say hello to Lucas or Łukasz. 2:21 the salaryman lying o the kid slide, I know this place, I photographed too, but just the kids slide ;). Just a minute walk from Kakigara Ryokan where I stayed for a few nights in 2018.

    This video was really informative, i loved every second about it. He seemed to enjoy being out, and his photos were secondary. I've seen a lot of people dying to get the shot and getting in people's faces and being excessively invasive to get a shot. This video really opened my eyes to a lot about street photography

      I'm so glad that comes across, because that really is my philosophy. For me, photography is about mindful exploration of one's world. If I can get beautiful photos as a byproduct of that exploration... well that is just the cherry on top of the cake. :)

    Does you’re Minolta 28mm f2.8 have that infamous white specks inside your lens? Many of them have this white spot problem.

      I know but mine doesnt have it fortunately. Maybe it got cleaned I don't know but it was hard finding a clean one for sure.

      Samuel L. Streetlife right on! I’m not sure if you have the CLE hand grip? It makes the CLE a joy to use and handling even better. I’m not sure if you have the trio lens set? The Minolta Rokkor 40 mm f2 is fantastic and so is the Rokkor 90 mm f4.0. My most used lens is the 40 mm. Ok I’ve just seen your other video and how hard it was for you to get your 40 mm lens try to get a hood for it. I have the original rubber hood. Enjoy your set up!

      @SamuelStreetlife  4 роки тому

      @@bonghungk7544 I don't have the grip but I got a halfcase for my CLE and it does make holding it much better. I also have the 40mm rokkor (which I also love). I'm not so interested in the 90mm because I don't shoot tele so much. But I'm sure it is very good!

    • @bonghungk7544
      @bonghungk7544 4 роки тому

      Samuel L. Streetlife that’s great you’re happy with your set up. I understand you about not wanting the Minolta 90 mm lens. I don’t often use it myself but I just wanted to complete my trio (28mm, 40mm, 90mm Rokkor lens collection. Sometimes I do portraits and use
      the 90 mm for friends or family/cats and it’s a good way to finish off my last few frames of film before it goes off to the lab. Or if I get tired of using the 28 mm or 40 mm I pull out the 90 mm for compressed street scenes look or city scapes. Speaking of film I use to shoot Kodachrome 25/64 with my Minolta CLE! Oh I miss my Kodachrome film and that unique rendition!! Cheers 🍻
