Steve Harris one of the hardest working bassists in the business!!!!
Bruce is a fucking legend! To have a voice of that quality at his age is amazing.
Hell yeah!!!
The greatest heavy metal epic in history.
That depends... is Wagner Metal for you or not?
@@nox5555 To call it Heavy Metal is just indisputable. This sound is the pure definition of Heavy Metal/A new wave of British Heavy Metal. With Judas Priest they pretty much invented this genre of music.
Just because there are heavier types of metal doesn't change the labeled category something is in or not.
It's a reason why heavier, faster German-based Heavy Metal (originally defined as A New Wave of German Heavy Metal) became known as Power Metal. Etc. when it spread outside of German Heavy Metal bands.
There are countless of categories, and they all have defenitions. If you think something sound heavier than Iron Maiden, it's probably Trash, Speed, etc. - a different label.
You can't say it's not Heavy Metal anymore, like the bloke in the vid. says as that makes no sense when it comes to set categories of music. It's not meant to be literal, just to be a label so a specific category/genre can be recognized by a label.
@@nox5555 metal bands would take Wagner out back into the alley and beat his anti-semetic britches brown.
@@henrikskjolden juds priest? Im pretty sure black sabbath invented the whole heavy metal thing
@@fathanaqwiya7398 Deep Purple!!!
Only heavy metal band in the World that tells a story about a ghost ship ..bloody amazing:-)
Originally by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
The only band that gives you history and literature lessons you mean?
@@BonJovi022110 "Maiden": Best story-telling metal band in the world.
Song is based on the poem from English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge
This was 12 years ago, the phone situation even worst now.
Vincent Price was the voice over in Thriller....
Makes me wonder if they've ever heard Christopher Lee speak...
*_Lollipops._*
Iron Maiden is one of the absolute best bands in the world! Btw, I love your accents! 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
Absolutely. I fully agree. 👍
To me, "Iron Maiden" belong into the same line musically as timeless classic composers (e.g. Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi), Queen and AC/DC. All of them created timeless masterpieces of music. Whether one prefers their style of music personally or not.
Personally I don't like AC/DC that much, but they are undoubtably masters of their craft.
You have to acknowledge genius when you experience it. 🙂
Vincent Price was the narrator in Thriller. In this song it was Sir Michael Redgrave.
This show, Rock In Rio and Hammersmith are amongst the greatest Metal Events ever.
Up The Irons 😈🎤🤘🎸🔱🥁
In 1988, my 9th grade English teacher played this for us at my private Catholic school. That was my introduction to Iron Maiden. Thank you Mrs. Colosurdo!
Similar here. I had a music teacher in 10th grade in 1984 who'd use 'Running Free' as an example how rock/metal used archaic tribal music elements. He did so by directly comparing the pushing drums of 'Running Free' with drums played by native North Americans. I knew Iron Maiden before that but the parallels were amazing. Well done, Mr. Messmer.
the greatest rock band ever. You Brits are lucky to have them!
Bruce is doing the spoken part. Who else had to read this poem in school?
We listened to this in class 🤘
@@scoobafloom yes, someone in my English class brought the album in the week we were reading this poem. Teacher was shocked because you could tell she had a low view of heavy metal and she could not believe they had a song about this poem.
That's not Bruce
This is always regarded as one of the best songs recorded in metal history.
I saw them play this on it's original tour in 1984. Blew my mind. 37 freaking years ago!
The song is from the 1984 album Powerslave. How ever they rarely play it. World slavery tour of -84 might have been one of few actions were they’d played it and then of course -08! Maybe somewhere in time tour -86.
It is truly epic.
Vincent Price did the voice over and famous laugh in Thriller, but he also did the opening spoken "Woe to you, O Earth, and Sea..." bit in The Number of the Beast.
As far as I'm aware, it's Bruce who recorded the voice of the Mariner.
No, It' s the voice of Barry Clayton in The Number of the Beast.
Barry Clayton done the voiceover on Number of The Beast.
Another history lesson from the greatest band live. Up the irons🔥🔥🔥
Up the Irons! From the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina USA!!!!
I'm Scottish and Maiden make me proud to be British! 🤟
I'm English and Scotland helps me be proud to be British \m/
It's Rock Theatre. The whole stage show and production along with the music is just different level
Vincent Price was the voice in Thriller.
And the voice in the number of the beast... and Scooby Doo
@@slayerem No It' s the voice of Barry Clayton in Number of the Beast.
@@frenchnomaamer1909 you really made curious about it... "Before the music starts, this opens with an a cappella quote from The Book of Revelation. The band wanted the horror film actor Vincent Price to read this intro, but he wanted more money than they were willing to pay (a year later, Price lent his voice to Michael Jackson's "Thriller"). The quote was read by an unknown thespian actor who had no interest in the band." this comes from Songfacts. I really believed all these years it was Vincent Price who read that, they sound exactly the same and use the same pitch. Well, without ur comment I wouldn't have fact checked my statement so thx for ur comment.
@@slayerem A guy named Price who wants more money... it' s just normal. ;)
greatest metal band ever
Classic metal
Up the Irons!
This is definitely one of Maiden's top 5 live performances Especially the last section. It's all about the build up to the burst of energy at the end (I tried not to make that sound rude, I failed! Haha!!). Adrian's solo just taking things to another level all together. Regarding the narrator for the middle section. No one actually knows who it is! It ISN'T Bruce. They hired a professional voice over artist but no one seems to know who it was! They tried to get someone called 'Ralph Richardson' but he was unavailable. It could possibly be a guy called Barry Clayton (Narrator for Count Duckula), who did the intro to 'Number of the Beast'. Unfortunately he died recently, so can never be asked.
Maiden's Empire of the clouds is 18 mins of journey
Great reaction, enjoy your channel so much! Up the Irons from Canada!
10:20 is the voice of Bruce Dickinson recorded in the studio.
Flight 666 is a great dvd with all the band members input and seeing Dickinson as a pilot flying their tour plane Ed Force One then perform at shows. I saw it at the airport in Vegas for a show as I flew in and the airport was electric filled with fans. Looking forward to see them live again in 2022 hopefully. Up The Irons
I got to see them on the Book Of Souls world tour. Watching Ed Force One land was amazing. 747 painted in iron maiden was beautiful!!!
Michael Jackson's thriller voice over was done by Vincent Price
Written in '84. This is their favourite song to play live. And with good reason.
UP THE IRONS! 🤟❤
Los Dioses del Heavy Metal y se acabó. "El fantasma de la Opera" en 1980?, aquí venimos nosotros y permiso!!!..
Saludos desde Chile🇨🇱
Maiden is Legend, in live they trascend you. Period. Kisses & Happy New Year from Normandy.
Up the Irons ! Best band ever !
Love the reaction chaps. Classic song from classy band. Definitely with you on the phones issue, at gigs and football
Of course it’s Bruce doing the reading ,he wouldn’t dare let anyone else do it and why would he ,he’s fuckin awesome!
That is not Bruce reading the poem in the middle section
My favorite Maiden song ever 🤘
What an Amazing Group/ Amazing Ride & Story. Fucking EPIC. 🍻
Pure gold✨Really,a masterpiece ❣️
I'd recommend reacting to Phantom of the Opera, and Empire of The Clouds.
The IZOD ARENA was located across the street from the old Giants Stadium and the new MetLife Stadium where the NY Giants and NY Jets currently play NFL football. It's in East Rutherford in Meadowlands Sports Complex. The area where the video was filmed had many different names over the years. In the 1980s in was known as Brendan Byrne Arena, and the Continental Airlines Arena in the 1990s. The IZOD ARENA no longer exists, it closed down in 2015.
Nice to see Ben Stokes and Andy Hamilton reacting to Iron Maiden...😄
Thriller was Vincent Price I think
Definitly agree with the smartphones, what a pain live!
To see a great crowd with none of these things in the air, dive back into Gojira - Pray live at Polandrock festival
I'm pretty sure the narrated part is Richard Burton. I'm sure I remember reading it somewhere around the time the album came out and he narrated the entire poem for the BBC in the sixties so presumably that is what they used.
VINCENT PRICE DID THE THRILLER VID BTW....CHRISTOPHER LEE IS A WICKED TALENTED ACTOR..IVE WATCHED COUNTLESS HAMMER FILMS THAT HE STARED IN...GOOD STUFF..PEACE
Ah yes Vincent Price. 👍🏻. Knew it was one of the Dracula actors 😂
@@officeblokedaz Vincent Price was asked to do the voice over for Number of the Beast but he was asking for too much money.
I think the narration is an excerpt from a spoken word film of the poem by Orson Wells from 1977.
Great reaction gentlemen. Like the channel
The voice in Mickael Jackson's Thriller is Vincent Price
I agree completely with the people who film everything. I'm more of the take one or two photos just to kinda document I was there(whether a concert, sporting event, tourist attraction, etc.) usually before it even starts and I'm just waiting. After that, its time to just enjoy the show.
Iron Maiden is the Nummber one!
Vincent Price in Thriller. This is Anthony Hopkins
Loved Maiden since the ‘80’s!
Love them forever!!!
epic song, epic concert!!🤙🤘🤟🤞✌
Sound was bad on the version you guys watched, one can tell on the second solo which had lower volume when it shouldnt, a bad dvd rip.
The 5.1 to stereo audio downmix didnt work well. Anyway good video , cheers
It is a prog metal song actually. They have many of them.
great vid guys, cant beat a bit of maiden
HOWDY FROM NEW ENGLAND.....I SAW MAIDEN IN AUGUST 2019 AND THE STAGE SHOW SOUND AND PERFORMANCE WERE TOP NOTCH..THE ONLY COMPLAINT IS THEY DIDNT PLAY LONG ENOUGH...UNDER 2 HRS!!! I TRACKED THEM ON YT LEADING UP TO THE SHOW AND THEY WERE PLAYING 3-4 HR SETS EVERY WHERE ELSE.... AND THEY HADNT PLAYED NEW ENGLAND IN 28 YRS...AT $100 A TICK I FELT LET DOWN...OTHERWISE MAIDEN RULES!!! PEACE FROM THE NORTHEAST..
That’s about all they play. It is a bit short compared to other bands.
Maiden never plays more than a 2-hour set and hasn't for decades, so I have no idea where you're getting 3-4 hour set stuff from. Totally untrue. I've seen them headline about 18 times since 1982. Hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours every time. The primary reason they keep it to 2 hours is to maintain Bruce's voice. And the strategy has worked. You heard how damn good he sounded at the 2019 show at age 61, right?...Also, not sure where you are getting the haven't played New England in 28 years info either. Go check the tour schedules over the years. I saw them in CT in 2006 (opening night of AMOLAD world tour).
Vincent price did the spoken word portion of Thriller.
My 3 favorites artists on stage are : Iron Maiden, Prince (rip) and The Boss. No order of preference... maybee Maiden. Up the Irons !
You all should watch the super bowl this year and live stream during it on youtube!
Maiden rules!
Thru the years they went from calssic metal to almost metal prog with their long and complex songs! But like every legendary groups they have their own sound.
this is a song from 1985 :P and their first album had the most prog song ever and their second album was all prog :P
Vincent Price did the voice over for thriller
Remix - South African Protigy please! Its so cool! You guys will love it (beatbox)

Or old staff:
Цой - кончилось лето
I believe this song was originally meant to be close to 24mins?.., but Bruce said it was just to much...so it got cut back to what it is now.
I do remember reading something along those lines saying there wasn't enough space on a record print for it
Im still waiting for the call of duty adult edition from the dooo 😭😭 love the content tho bois!
Up the Irons!!

Hello Sir. I asked before but you didnt replay or like comment. Take a look for "Hallowed by the name" also Iron Maiden, but live from Hammersmit '82. Best performance ever. You wont regret, thank you sir.
Gods do walk among men !
Kudos to all the band members! I bet that was hard song to memorize, Bruce is such an amazing singer and performer! In my opinion Powerslave is their best album!
Can you react to marcus veltri playing piano with a broken finger please
you guys should really add the lyrics while you watch. It is a much different experience. Also, react to Alexander the Great. Epic freaking song!

yo please react to ben howard? One of the best artists of this generation and i never see people react to his music. Time Is dancing, old pine, only love, small things, conrad, keep your head up, i forget where we were, he's got so many good songs check him out?
Hello Gentlemen! I love watching btw. This is my fav song (okay The Trooper is close haha)-anyway, listening to this since a teenager helped me to have a good attention span with music in general. SO; lol, it really helped me to be able to get into TOOL - I think I've been ruthlessly bugging you about it..? Please check out TOOL! Perhaps start with 46 & 2? If you do, others may suggest songs from them as well. Please stay safe and Good Health to you and Your Loved Ones!
There’s a tool cover by kids coming soon. 👍🏻
Aniway, the greatest version of all is from live after death.
Wrong, the voice midway through is Bruce
Michel Jackson ( Thriller ) Voice Vincent Price !! ..
Five more likes and we will be at the magic number!
unpopular opinion: it's unproductive to allow the way someone else enjoys a concert ruin your own experience. just let em be.
