I'm thinking staying in the Jamaica section is the way to go. It just seems a better choice than the preferred category, especially with closer access to the Skyliner. Nice video and good job presenting all this information. Thank you.
Wow, I'm a massive fan of Touring Plans and have been using them for years but I had no idea they could help submit room requests. Thanks for the video and useful information.
Thanks for this Shannon, boy this place has changed big time! I stayed here on my very 1st trip here to WDW in July 1998. I was in the Jamaica Village in building number 43, room 59 which was upstairs.
Super helpful, Shannon! New viewer here. We have a King bed booked in May 2022 and had requested buildings 45 or 51, not realizing there were no king beds in building 45 - will switch our request to 46 or 51! Thanks for the tips.
I stayed there in 98 with my friend and her son and loved it we had a pool view. There was no skyliner yet only busses We loved renting boat on the lake.
@@ShannonFord wow went this past January stayed hard Rock for universal did 2 nights at Port Orleans riverside and 1 night grand floridian loved it even though Victoria and Albert was closed I'm a foodie and have to go back
I requested a room based upon Shannon's recommendation at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I Loved the room the I was assigned in Nov. 2021. Thank you Shannon.
@@jademorello537 I stayed in Aruba with a view of the circular baggage self drop off. It was between the 2 skyliner stations and close to the bridge to dining. Also I was able to see partial fireworks from the parking lot.Overall, I liked the resort.
I'm sorry, Shannon, but there are no longer playgrounds on each village's beach. The only playground that exists at CBR, is the one on Caribbean Cay (which is pronounced 'Key'). I was just there this past October, we walked the entire resort & checked out each beach, no playgrounds/parks on the beaches. I think they all had playgrounds/parks on each beach before the big remodel a few years back, but post-remodel, the only one left is on the Cay. Just wanted to let ya know, in case someone was banking on that aspect for a future stay.
This is such a great video! I’m planning on getting a basic standard room but I’m contemplating which skyliner to be closer to. Do you think the Riveria Resort would have shorter lines than the CBR?
I would choose closer to the Hub but request somewhere in between the 2. I’ve heard the riviera lines can get long because they only fill every 5th gondola. Plus going to DHS, you’d have to switch anyway.
Going in December-5th sleeper. Hoping to get Jamaica. Wondering the best way to get to MK or AK from CBR? Do you have a video on that for morning commute? We aren’t Gonna have a vehicle ourselves.
Always take the bus to MK. We typically take the Bus to AK too. You just have to allow for enough time if you are planning to make rope drop. We’ve never really had an issue in the morning
Probably too late to make the request through TouringPlans, but if you don’t like your room assignment, you can always asked to see if there is a room in your desired area. None of the hotels are at 100% capacity right now, so your chances are much better than normal. Have a great time!
Thank you for this! Hopefully we get Jamica/45. I did request 2nd floor, but now I am second guessing. We have a 7 and 3 year old. We plan to order from Prime now. I know they don't have elevators, but unsure of how many steps. May I ask why you don't like the second floor? I know the usual answer is elevators-- but I'm curious if you have another reason. We leavs in April.... so still some time to officially decide.
We have just found that Ground Floor is easier all around. No need to get to the elevator, no need to wait for the elevator. And easier with kids is always better in my opinion. Have a great time.
It’s possible to walk to either. It all depends on where you are located. If the distance is about the same, I would choose to go to the main Hub at Caribbean Beach because during busy times, they only fill every few gondolas at Riviera

My family & I are going in march this year & we booked a water view with a 5th sleeper & was wondering which option is good? I’d like 2nd floor & not right under sky liner as I hear it’s pretty loud. Any suggestions?
The Skyliner isn’t loud at all. It’s pretty quiet actually. I still think the area between the 2 Skyliner stations is the best if you are having a park intensive trip
Are you preferred? If so, yes, I would recommend Barbados over Martinique. You will be near the Lobby and buses, and the skyliner is just over the bridge. I'd request building 32.

Or should i ask for a reservation number? However in bldg 35 the rooms are in pink and white too. which are the non-waterview colour?Pls advise. Much obliged. Carmen
I will need to take a look at the map and get back to you. You will definitely need your reservation number. You need to enter that into My Disney Experience to be able to make park pass reservations among other things. As for TouringPlans, I recommend signing up for your subscription a year before your trip. So if your trip ends 11/21/22, sign up on 11/22/21

I’m just worried how far that will be from the main building. We will be doing breakfast everyday before the parks at the resort and have 2 grandparents joining us. It looked like 34 wasn’t too bad to get access to the main lobby and walk up to skyline too? I just requested ground floor and they guaranteed ground floor and gave me water/pool view. It’s a pediatric wheelchair because my son broke his leg? He’s 11 but small.
@@ShannonFord no, he has a waterproof cast and by then we are praying a boot. No, we just needed it on the ground floor because of no elevators . He’s always wanted to stay in a pirate room but I had no idea how far they were upon booking. He needs the wheelchair for walking long distances. The cast member said because I requested ground floor and she called over to confirm they could guarantee upon booking she had to do alot of forms she said. But I have a family of 4 and grandparents are staying in next room. So 6 of us. How far is far when walking to the food court or pool? We did do 1 rest day to hang out at the resort. At least bus stops are right near each area for at night but is there any more of a request I can do besides 1st floor, can I request a building too? Ty so much
