This is one of the best living composers, that's for sure. All previous releases are pure masterpieces. But I finally need to admit... I don't like Synapse at all.. I hoped I will get used but no. It's very concerning thing to me: surely Synapse is a great piece of art but I'm not hooked. Not even once. The part of it is in sound. It changed A LOT. I liked old "Ibanez"-stuff, it sounded exactly as it should IMO. With gear change the sound is just way too dry and not causing eargasms. And the second thing is self-repeating. All composers have their ups and downs and they almost never correspond with what audience thinks ups and downs are. But listening to Synapse I cathed myself a little bit too many times with: "Waait a minute. It's from Away with worlds/Universal language/Speed of dark." Not entire melodies of course but some licks. I know, it's the style of musician and it is more or less consistent throughout career. But it was not very pleasant feeling. Anyway, I'm glad that geniuses like Angel Vivaldi are here in my lifetime. He holds the bar of quality music extremely high and I hope it will be so for many many years. Thank you for your art.

You’ve become a huge inspiration to me.. I had a touring band in the 90s , kind of a rowdy political funk band.. but I didn’t really work to get better, I had a pocket full of good sounding licks but I just practiced our sets and wrote funky Danceable tunes,, but in the late 90s I started practicing and really trying to learn the instrument.. We did a 1999 tour that wrapped up with playing at Woodstock 99 on the emerging artists stage ( that venue was a mess, we left just before fires started because we had to get all the way to Colorado .. Then one day I just fell, I got really weak, my muscle coordination freaked out.. It was my first major flare up of multiple sclerosis … I tried playing through the 200os but I got pretty discouraged..I quit playing in 2010. But last year during Covid I took out my tele and just started relearning..slowly. I’ve retrained my muscles and overcome a lot of the nerve inflammation. And listened to you a lot. Watched you play a lot. Your time! Your melodic sense. Your unfailingly positive energy ! It’s incredibly inspiring.. I’m trying to get my finances sorted to but my first seven string! I’ll probably have to sell one or two of my guitars . ( I play humble guitars, a strat, a tele with onamac vince gill pickups and an epiphone zack that I stripped the bullseye off of and tricked out a bit, it’s a Frankenstein but I love it best of all. But I’m getting a Charvel Angel Vivaldi seven! Somehow. It’s perfect, I love the Gotoh trem, passive pickups! It’s perfect.. I hope some of your magic wears off on me. Thanks for the wonderful music and the wonderful vibe! S.
