Charlie Scott was a good ballplayer but Westphal was about to explode when the Celts traded him. We give Red such praises for his great deals but this one he came out on the short end.
I love Paul Westphal so much even though I was a Laker fan. This is might be the biggest mistake Red Auerbach ever had when he traded him to the Suns for Charlie Scott who was a Hall of Famer just like Westphal but he got a ring in 1976. I almost forgot that Westphal actually have a championship ring when he won a title with the Celtics in 1974. I will always missed him so much even though I really knew him more as a coach. Rest In Peace Mr. Westphal🙏🙏🙏
Westphal was one of the best guards in the game, similar in play to Rick Barry and Larry Bird. Could do everything really well. Surprised his Suns didn't win at least one chip.. came pretty close.
my 2nd all time favorite player behind Bird. West was a beast with a computer brain for seeing the floor.
2:40 Wow! one of the best poster dunks I've ever seen! Wasn't expecting that when I clicked the video lol
