  • March Garden Tour in Zone 7B. Join Lady and I on a tour of our March garden, where we'll share updates on our overwintered vegetables and seedlings. This tour is perfect for those whose last frost dates are at the end of April or in May, and are looking for tips on caring for their garden and seedlings in early spring.
From celery to carrots to broccoli, see how our overwintered vegetables are doing and show you the spring bulbs that are starting to peek out. Plus, we'll give you an update on our spring seedlings. Lady and I hope you enjoy this tour on a beautiful, warm early spring day!

Monday was the nicest day we've had here in a long time. It got up to 75, with a light breeze and sunshine! I was going to work outside for a little bit, but enjoyed the warm sun so much that I kept going. Got a lot more cleaning up and rearranging done. The main things that survived our winter were the weeds. My Thyme also looks like it survived and there are some starts of my Day Lilies showing. Hopefully I'll find more survivors as time goes on. It looks like you have a lot of plants growing, which means you'll have a full and productive garden this year. It's fun to watch your progress - thanks for sharing.

75! That sounds so wonderful! Glad you had a fun day puttering in the garden. Let's just see what comes up. It's early yet (as I have to constantly remind myself of). I hope it's productive for you too. Thank you!

    Well that was fun! Thanks😊
I'm in northern CT and after your video I'm feeling way behind on my seedling planting. Maybe tomorrow...

Well, in all fairness, I've been early on a lot of seedlings and I may come to regret it. Now is really an ideal time for most. Good luck!

Things are coming along over there. I didn't know basil could hang around that long.

Thanks. The basil looks kind of funny but I bring it in every fall and it's kept on going.

Blessed Friday to you too! I think that once you've got consistent temps at night in the 40's (sometimes in the mid-to-upper 30's) you can sow directly in the ground, peas, spinach, lettuce, radishes, beets, bok choy and a number of other cool weather crops. If you have an indoor set up, you can really sow anything right now as long as you have room to keep the warm weather crops cozy warm until the temps are above 50's at night.
