    Nice video bro. I just checking out Jackson js 22 - 7 related videos, my guitar arrives this weekend. Funny thing is I got the guitar for very less. I just checked hipshot bridge and locking tuners on Amazon and they both cost alot more than the guitar itself.😅

    I've been looking for an easy way to replace my tuners on the same Jackson model. Thanks so much for this video, I love Sperzel! Buying a set of these right now.

      Thanks! Hipshot bridge upgrade is BY FAR the most valuable upgrade to do! Cheers -Ryan

      I also have the satin black one and bought itbspecifically to upgrade i plan on hipshot bridge aswell as locking tuners and new pickups. I have an ibanez i did in gold hardware as an upgrade and a ec-1000 vintage black which is mat black and gold hardware. I want to do gold but afraid that having 3 gold and black guitars is to much gold and black so i might do silver and black. That gold though is just so nice with black

    I'm really glad I found these videos because I've been wanting to do more upgrades to my JS22-7 and this helps a lot. The only thing I've done so far is install a DiMarzio D-Activator bridge pickup, but I'm thinking about changing out both pickups for an SD Pegasus/Sentient set. Have you changed the nut on yours and, if so, what do you recommend?

    Cool video bro. I picked my JS22 gloss from my local Long and McQuade recently. These are very well built guitars for the price. To me they are templates for modification. I am looking to upgrade the pickups and swap out the tuners as the OEM tuners are junk to be frank. I will be looking into the Sperzel's.

    Yip, bought one of these and I'm still laughing my ass off. This is a fun guitar that just makes me smile. Some minor fit and finish stuff but idgaf, my other guitars are currently being ignored. Now the big thing. Do I mod this or go for a Js32-8 and mod that ? Great job Jackson, this is a great mod platform for beginners.

    This seems like a life changer when compared to the cheap gotoh tuners jackson slaps on lower end guitars. I've mainly had guitars with floyds in them but im wanting more simplicity when im just writing.

    I have the same guitar and want to change the tone knobs. What size is the pot shaft?

    I have this guitar and am interested in upgrading it. What's your take on needing to change pots/wiring in addition to pickups?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 роки тому +1

      Only if you use the Volume and Tone Controls. Most only use them on full blast, rather than dialing back. If you dial things back to change the tone or clean up some distortion then you may find a little bit of benefit in changing the pots. Wiring not really... unless you plan on daisy chaining your tone capacitor from your Tone Pot to your Volume Pot (50s wiring). But that's all personal preference and all hinges on the fact that you don't only use your pots on full blast. Otherwise you'd only want to change the pots if they fall apart or are faulty. Did you have to drill new holes for the tuners or were they drop in? I've been trying to find locking tuners to just drop in but everyone has said they had to drill. These ones work?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 роки тому +1

      Sperzel’s EZ-Mount have a grip on the back of the tuner so you don’t have to drill. These are the ones you want. Just make sure you get the EZ Mounts. Cheers -Ryan

    Did the locking tuners significantly help your tuning stability?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  2 роки тому

      Wasn’t a fan of the old tuners, that’s for sure. Shortening and lessening the amount of wraps around the post really helps if you are a lead player. Takes WAY more bending before it comes out of tune. So if you are a lead player I would highly recommend it… if you are a rhythm player it is still recommended but you might not see as much of a result. Cheers -Ryan

    It bothers me Sperzel doesn't think their customers are competant enough to install their locking tuners. Something must be going on with them as the EZ Mount can't be found anywhere. Don't know if I want them now. There are a couple on Ebay but they're coming from China but made here in the USA.

    You think hipshot tuners would work for this? I'm probably gonna buy this guitar and upgrade a bit. Thanks

      Yes. There are quite a few that have installed Hipshot Locking Tuners on their JS22-7. Cheers -Ryan
