Really enjoyed watching them. Ever tried doing a SERE video? Pick a starting point, pick an ending point, and have either mil or police friends trying to intercept you using their man hunting skills and tactics before you get to the ending point. You can do this in an urban environment as well. It would be a hoot!

The concern is the "big one" where an EMP, either by attack or from a massive sun CME, takes out the entire power grid for months over even past a year. THEN you're talking nightmare scenario....
""Woolsey responded, “It’s briefly dealt with in the commission report of [2008]. There are essentially two estimates on how many people would die from hunger, from starvation, from lack of water, and from social disruption. One estimate is that within a year or so, two-thirds of the United States population would die. The other estimate is that within a year or so, 90% of the U.S. population would die. We’re talking about total devastation. We’re not talking about just a regular catastrophe.”"

Liked the video. Thanks for doing it. For a scout I carry a Sawyer water filter and 2 Sawyer roll up bags and a disposable drink bottle that fits the Sawyer. Don’t take up much room and easy to plus up water till the next resupply. I used to carry a lightweight DIY hammock, now I use a DD ultra light hammock and detachable bug net. I always bring a poncho as it can rain in the late afternoon in the mountains of Virginia. And a military bug head net. While it can be hot as Heck during the day it can also go down to 50 or even in the 40’s at night. I bring thermals as they squish down and are lightweight, and fresh winter socks. I also bring a fleece beanie as well. Safety pinning a SOL double sized Mylar sheet to a poncho liner is a better option than a sleeping bag. I put some clear Gorilla duct tape in key spots before pinning the Mylar to the liner. The Survive Outdoors Longer Mylar sheet is quiet, stronger, and inexpensive. And it will help take you down to lower temps with seasonal clothing on. I also put and reinforced a slit into the Mylar so my head could just go through it. And I put a long zipper in the Poncho liner to allow my head to go through so I could wear the Mylar, liner and poncho together. The SOL doubled sized Mylar sheet also makes a great 5 oz tarp. So mate one Mylar Sheet to the liner or your Summer sleeping bag and prepare the other one Mylar Sheet with cordage for a tarp. Hot non caffeinated drink options and couple of snickers bars can get you through a wettin or a night if chilled even if you can get a fire going. And because it is usually damp or wet in the woods I’d like to recommend the 2.5 oz multi fuel two burner Pill Bottle Stove at www.neotrekk.com. I like it better than Hex tabs or the alcohol cat can stove for making hot drinks. Too bad you couldn’t construct and capture some of the rain in different spots along that dry Creek bed and place multiple Caches in case you and others have to stay out of sight for awhile. A few natural stealth camps already constructed would be help especially during inclement weather like rain or snow. You never know when a planned traverse may turn into the need for a sanctuary for awhile. I wouldn’t put your cache at your different camps cause your camps could be compromised at some point. Salt, rice for carbs and calories, multivitamins especially high dose B vitamins and magnesium citrate better absorbed,, olive oil for healthy fat, chia seeds for protein, spices for meat or soup, can make a prolonged stay possible and is unaffected by freezing can easily cached. Bullion does not store well. Flour can freeze but will either go rancid or deteriorate after a year. Macaroni would also be very good to alternate with rice. Hard candy is worth caching too. And some canned food, coffee and tea bags, and rice packets meals, for temporary unplanned stays can be rotated out yearly. I’d also cache some wire snares for squirrels and heavy wire snares for deer or hog. And spare fishing supplies, including some yo yo reels.

Every situation is different, and the foundations shared by you all are pure gold whether people realize it or not. You should be proud of what y’all are accomplishing.

My dung already hit the fan. I went from house to apartment, then car and now a foot homeless and winter is here. I have several scout pits I dug over time with descent caches. Thank God for the town being surrounded by BLM land. I have an electric bike and solar setup for charging. I stay the hell away for the street homeless people. I urban trap for meat and stocked up the can foods during the summer. My biggest challenge is washing clothes and keeping my canned foods from freezing. The best solution so far is storing all my foods under water in the local river.

Awesome! I HIGHLY prefer a hammock as well… As far as ticks, chiggers etc, I treat my clothes with permethrin and I use a bug dope formula from the 1800’s (I will do a video on it in the future).. Natural repellents include American Beauty Berry and most plants in the mint family.. I use hickory leaves for bedding which helps with chiggers specifically.. Glad there’s another 10mm fan out there 👊🏻

Hello JJ.! Nice to have meet your acquaintances. We watch Fuel The Fires & ON3 as a family viewing, with our three girls whom admire the skills you shares with your viewers. You are one of their heroes besides JS. Our girls are bushcraft & survival proficient but there's always more to learn. We brought our children up to also Look, Listen & Learn from others. Take in what is required and share it with others. Knowledge gained has more value if it is shared. Our girls also make remarks & comments about your show & others. Their mother encourage it & that's how they learn from the professionals. Flavoured hydralytes are great addition to water found in the woods either from mother earth, plants or skies. The twins suggested that you wrap you gummy bears & snacks with your soaked shemagh to keep it cool, especially in high temperatures (twins live on gummy bears) & also add a small umbrella and safety glasses/goggles to your carry. The oldest sister suggested that after checking for widow makers, you should look around the tree trunk for anything that could bite or sting you before sitting down. Here in Australia, we've got reptiles & insects that can make your day less pleasant. She also suggested that you carry an inhaler, of course after discussing with your physician first. Even better if you just stop smoking. Apology mate, they're their mother's girls.!! By the way mate, could you tell us a bit more about your fixed blade? Thank you for sharing your skills with our family. Cheers from Australia. Looking forward to your & JS bug out scenerio.

I’ve seen some folks loadouts and they have something for everything they can imagine. I’ve gone on several overnighters myself and I’m finding I’m carrying less and less stuff each time. I’m not survivorman I have a couple creature comforts but if I’m practicing get home skills or get from point to point skills.
