A comprehensive video on denim would be great. The videos on materials and specific garments are some of the best on the site. When I do my own research I sometimes wonder, How would the Gentleman's Gazette present this in their style?
Levis stores often have tailors that will repair them for you for free. the 100% cotton is more durable than the spandex, no matter what they tell you.
Hi, I know this isn’t totally relevant, but I was just reading an article on your site and I think it isn’t formatted that well for mobile devices. Their is simply too much cluttering up the screen, including pop up tutorial videos, heart buttons, multiple search buttons, etc. just wanted to give a bit of critique.
Good topic today. By the way, you´ve forgotten 1 special tip (at least super important for me): be carefull of extensive sunshine exposure, specially on summer. The sunligth dries and ruins the fiber of the denim. In Buenos Aires (Argentina) the sun on summer is a cotton killer!. Regards.!
Always get your money's worth. Try getting clothes for a kid who is 7 ft tall my mom had to literally hunt for clothes for my little brother who went from average size to giant practically overnight well we weren't paying attention 🤦🏻♀️ she had replace his pants every two months and there was only one place in town that sold them. And she had to go to another place just to find his long sleeve shirts because he couldn't wear the average ones because they were short on him they were mid length on him they fit him except on the arms 🤦🏻♀️😥 ,turn the jeans inside out, keep them zipped up and button up while in the washing machine this way, no damage to other clothes in the washing machine.
Very good video. I like a crease in mine and I have gotten compliments on them primarily for that reason. Haggar is my brand both dark wash and medium wash for variety. I recently purchased Levi 501 in white. I am wondering if that will shrink very much.
I rejuvenate my jeans every four or five washes using Rit Dark Blue Denim dye. Pull them inside out and run a regular wash cycle with extra rinse; let them air dry and after drying run them through the dryer on the 20 minute medium heat "Wrinkle Reducer" cycle, with a couple of large Downy dryer sheets. Hang them up and they're ready for the next wear. No ironing needed.
Always ZIP the zippers and.BUTTON the buttons before putting in the wash. Leaving open zippers wears them out and eventually wont stay zipped up anymore. Also prevents wear and tear on the teeth, teeth loss, and the slider from going off the rails.
Levi's 501 Original fit advertising is bullcrap, the sizes on them vary considerably. I tried on 12 pairs (both used and new) and sometimes the 34 waist fit me, and the 36 wouldnt!
Surprised about using the gentle cycle. I only use hot water for a load of whites, and dry everything on low, but have always washed jeans on the heavy duty cycle.
A Black pair for some reason always end up fading so thanks for the content as always. I think I wont be washing my new pairs or at least not as often to prevent damage.
Jeans today are not made like they used to 30 plus years ago. Then they were thicker and lasted longer. Today they are thinner and seem to wear faster.
So when you speak about “high quality jeans” could you also throw the old school “dungarees” into that class? There are a few companies that are making old school 100% cotton ones.
I mean, some ZIP polos are nice quite, but they are just a "trend", not real classic meanswear. They are not even useful, I prefer the buttons, aside from the look.
The question: are denims good material for making wax cotton fabric? I do ride a lot a motorcycle in dedicated denim trousers - my go to gear - I wish them to last long and be bit water resistant.
Sorry, I disagree with you. I buy quality jeans. I take them to the cleaners when needed and have them washed and ironed as if they are dress pants and use heavy, heavy starch. Just like my fatigues were treated when I was in the army. Look great!
Denim has been used in clothing for centuries, jeans have been worn for decades by many stylish people, and there's a rise in interest for tailored denim - there is a lot to explore as part of our regular content! 🙂
I have one pair of jeans bought from labour union a american 1950's work denim replica i only use it for work i think denim shouldnt be too light always a dark blue or grey i think that it goes very well with tweed! Also jeans are pretty much overrated and have been abused quite alot by fashion like very skinny stretchy and holes in em they can be classic if you buy the right jeans
With respect the jeans you are wearing looking uncomfortable. Perhaps they have lots of elastic in the weave? They’re not a good look on you. Go for straight fit, they’ll hang better.
I'm surprised you're wearing camo. I don't view camo as something a gentleman would wear. But, then again, I'm a vet and view it as work clothes. I had to wear it at times in the military. I haven't worn camo since leaving the military some forty years ago.
When it comes to environmental consciousness, many of the accessories have to be dropped which this channel celebrates and encourages to have multiple items to suit several occasions. You really don't need ties, you don't need hats (unless one is bald and needs for protection), so many watches, and you really don't need as many shirts as marketed by this channel. All this if you are environmental conscious.
Great watch, just the right amount of humor. I always wash jeans cold/cold inside out, air dry and they last for YEARS. Thanks for posting.....
I'm so glad to see more Kyle videos! I really appreciate his perspective and style.

Abundantly useful. And I'd definitely be interested in a selvedge or raw denim video
I’d love a comprehensive denim guide! The Japanese and some American are doing wonderful things now!
Thank you, greatly.
In my 30s, finally finding some time, to care about me, and how I'm doing "life".
These, small things, are changing my world.
I'm currently trying with a pair of Levi's 501. As I've been told how great and relatively cheap they are. I'm hopeing for the best!
They're fantastic if you have the body for it. Me personally, I'm a little too thick in the thigh for the 501s. 541 (athletic fit) is what I go with.
Levi's 501 button down, straight leg. Since 1987 my fav. Currently on 4th pair. But I consider them my workhorse pants.
Levis stores often have tailors that will repair them for you for free. the 100% cotton is more durable than the spandex, no matter what they tell you.
Bloody buttons are a faff
Good episode! I've always taken pretty good care of my jeans but I learned several things.
As a woman I love your channel, it's very practical!

Great video and presentation. I've always followed all of the tips except for ironing, but I may give it a shot the next time I wash my jeans.
Would love a denim deep dive please!! Especially your thoughts on Japanese denim brands :)

Very informative video!! Thank you.

Comes very handy, thanks a lot GG
Great Video! Have you considered doing a video on elbow patches?
I thought about Sweet Brown just before you guys showed her on the screen hahaha love it
I would definitely love more info on denim! :)

Loved seeing the new haven train in this video
Great video. Heavyweight Japanese raw denim is my favorite. By the way, it's "selvedge" (self edge) not "salvage" :)
Always ZIP the zippers and.BUTTON the buttons before putting in the wash. Leaving open zippers wears them out and eventually wont stay zipped up anymore. Also prevents wear and tear on the teeth, teeth loss, and the slider from going off the rails.
Please do a video on selvedge and whether it's worth it or not.
I’ve been waiting for you guys to do a Raw Denim video!
More denim talk, please!
Levi's 501 Original fit advertising is bullcrap, the sizes on them vary considerably. I tried on 12 pairs (both used and new) and sometimes the 34 waist fit me, and the 36 wouldnt!
Yep I had that.
What's your opinion of the BeltBro?
Surprised about using the gentle cycle. I only use hot water for a load of whites, and dry everything on low, but have always washed jeans on the heavy duty cycle.
Ain't nobody got time for dat! HA! Classic 😂

Dye them
Jeans today are not made like they used to 30 plus years ago. Then they were thicker and lasted longer. Today they are thinner and seem to wear faster.
They are thinner with more synthetic content.
Even 15 years ago, as a sk8er fubu & blue bolt Jeans were indestructible, now meh.
With rotation, do you mean keeping a day in between or weekly?
FYI. The Laundress products are no longer available due to a huge recall.
the advice assumes you want to keep the size. you can use hot or even boiling water and hit drying to shrink to fit
So when you speak about “high quality jeans” could you also throw the old school “dungarees” into that class? There are a few companies that are making old school 100% cotton ones.
Hey Gentlemen's Gazette do you guys recommend wearing zip polo shirts?
I mean, some ZIP polos are nice quite, but they are just a "trend", not real classic meanswear. They are not even useful, I prefer the buttons, aside from the look.
No
Thibodeaux is a french name! Are you of french Canadian decent? 😊
Mr. Burns is correct. Iron your dungerees, but no creases. I learned long ago that we use too much detergent on average worn clothing.
The question: are denims good material for making wax cotton fabric? I do ride a lot a motorcycle in dedicated denim trousers - my go to gear - I wish them to last long and be bit water resistant.
Look into “duck” fabric pants. You can also get double front pads. Go to a work clothing store.
Gentleman - jeans??😂. The devil’s cloth as it is known by British Army officers.
Please tell me that was Preston's idea to have you try to get your jeans to play fetch 😂😂🤣💀
Sorry, I disagree with you. I buy quality jeans. I take them to the cleaners when needed and have them washed and ironed as if they are dress pants and use heavy, heavy starch. Just like my fatigues were treated when I was in the army. Look great!
ok ! 👍👌😊😊😊😊😊😊
This latest pair of Levis which I've owned for 2-3 months? Not washed yet and worn daily. :-) I give them a smell and visual test.
Are you a biker from the 70's?
Anyone looking for hard-wearing tough jeans that rise to a waist that you can actually work in, Cinch is absolutely the place to go.
Stop washing them in detergent! Use only white vinegar !
White vinegar???
Cold water to prevent shrinkage... That's not my experience...🤔
Levi's 569 customer for life.
I appreciate the effort trying to play fetch with that lazy jeans.
Simple advice… Buy the jeans, unwashed, watch your weight, so you will get to use them longer.
30 dollar GAP jeans at 20 washes and 120 wears: .25 per wear. Much better deal than 200 dollar Jeans at 400 wears.
When growing up us kids were told not to iron denim.

Hello Gents. I've got a question. Just exactly where is this channel going if jeans become the topic of interest?
Denim has been used in clothing for centuries, jeans have been worn for decades by many stylish people, and there's a rise in interest for tailored denim - there is a lot to explore as part of our regular content! 🙂
@@gentlemansgazette Sounds trendy to me. How many denim garments has Raphael found in the antique clothing shops?
It’s called gentleman’s gazette, not Amish gazette.

Please no more cutaway gags
I, for one, appreciate them.
They should at least use less gags.
They seem to enjoy it, so they should keep doing it. Authenticity always makes better videos.
Don’t watch then. Cmon.
Please more cutaway gags.

Camo in menswear is something we've discussed before, here: www.gentlemansgazette.com/camo-print-classic-menswear/?
Camo is awesome British 94 pattern DPM is all you will ever need.

Completely ridiculous. Jeans arent delicate, they're hardwearing and made to last.
