I love how your take on casual style is much more formal and dressier than what the Average Joe (90% of population) "casually" wears every day. Happy to see that GG holds the high standards even on the casual side of things. 💥👍💪
I bet most of the people who follow this channel would show up in jeans and a tshirt to help someone move. And those of us who don't drive aren't going to change before stopping at walmart to buy trash bags.
I'm a big fan of chinos these days as my go to "casual" look. I do wear jeans for everyday wear - they're practical and hard wearing. So if I am just out doing the weekly food shop or picking my daughter up from school, a pair of jeans and a polo are just fine, usually with a pair of boots. But if I am going out for a social occasion, I like to dress it up a little bit and for that, chinos are usually the foundation of all my outfits. I currently have 4 pairs - Desert/Khaki, Navy, Off White and Burgundy. Paired with a nice shirt (and I have a few really stylish casual shirts I picked up while I was in Venice), I think they're a much better option than jeans, especially so during the summer months. And you can go one step further and build up with a waistcoat and/or sport coat and it still looks quite smart while being comfortable and casual. I went out a few weeks ago to a friend's birthday party (my Italian tutor) and some of her other friends were there. I hadn't met them in over a year and that was the only time I had ever met them. But they remembered me, not because they remembered what I look like but because they remembered my style, which is usually built on a foundation of chinos, shirt and brogues or loafers
Love to see a notification from you gents. You guys are the main inspiration as to why i created my own men’s style channel a few weeks ago. Keep it up gents 😀
I do love all your videos, but I doubt any will be as influential as this one, I'm currently in the process of transferring from super casual, jeans and hoody all day every day, do a formal style, this is like my bridge, my gateway
As a father of young children, I find this one spot on. It's very difficult for me to dress at an high formality scale, as I need functionality to be around those little guys, yes all guys. I aspire to dress casually, but with a certain style, keeping quality garments that fit well in my wardrobe. (edit:) I usually like knitwear in the winter and good polos in the summer, both for function and comfort. Thanks for the tips!
Usually I quite like to wear cardigans, Arran sweaters, and wool roll necks, but also nice tweed sports jacket’s aswell, with some Barbour and trench coats aswell
Thanks for shouting out the Guyabera. Some people sleep on Cuban style of the 40s and 50s, It’s worth looking into. Reminds me of my father, he was Cuban born but lived in Manhattan and was obsessed with classic style.
A great addition to the GG library. As a team you never fail to produce high quality, informative and easily understood and accessable videos. I love how a brief history of specific garments gives great context to their application, such as shackets and the Cuban collar shirts as two examples from this video.
I love the Gentlemen's Gazette's classic and timeless styles featured here.Every look is great.Great video as always. I want to be well dressed for any and every occasion. Thank you!!! You guys take style to the highest level. I love it!! IThat's why I've followed you for many years. 💛
Corduroy. I have three corduroy shirts and two corduroy sports jackets. You can dress up or down such a sports jacket in a wide range. Henley, jeans, and sneakers up to a knit tie, dress shirt, and wool trousers.
Don't forget the Harrington jacket. Casual lightweight. Can wear a tie and dress shirt or t shirt and jeans. I usually wear something in the middle. Nice sweater, dress shirt or flannel underneath.
I strive for a casual elegant look. Black jeans, a loosely buttoned shirt and I also have a waistcoat with matching back and an almost jean-like material. On colder days I use my beloved nice and long, black trench coat.
Would Gentleman's Gazette be interested in making a video about "sport shirts" in the future? Referring to the loop collared, generously cut shirts, often with one or two chest pockets and worn casually with or without tailoring in the 1940s & 1950s, often in bright colours or flannel, rayon etc. Ethan Wong has written a great deal about them on his blog. You covered some of its descendents in this video; the Cuban collared shirt for one, and I know Preston calls his short sleeved patterned summer shirts "sport shirts", a kind of modern equivalent.
Formal overcoats are the most versatile winter garments, they pair great with anything, specially single breasted ones with hoodies. I'm middle aged and when I wear a very long one with a hoodie (zipped works best) I get compliments. You can accessorize them with scarfs hats and BUM BAGS. Yes a loose fitting coat paired with a fanny pack acting as a belt, If you want to look stylish but not boring look how women assemble their outfits. Men tend to sameness and blandness and sometimes baldness
Rafael: A little off topic, but at about 2:00 into the video, there's a shot of Rafael in white tie holding a classic walking stick/cane. Can you tell me where I might purchase a stick like that. I want a real deal quality one, and all I seem to find are cheaply made costume remakes. And definitely the type you're holding, with the round knob handle instead of the typical curve-handled cane. Thanks for the help!
What do you guys think of wearing Derbies or Chukkas for Casual Wear? Worn with Chinos and a Polo or a casual shirt, for example. For context, I use an Orthotic insole, so Loafers are almost always out of the question for me.
Apologies if I missed it somewhere but is it fine to occasionally wear Dress pants casually as well? Currently I have a couple pairs of lightweight Wool, Herringbone, and a Plaid. The Wools definitely look nice with Polos when it's warm which is often out here in AZ. Thanks for the content as always.
luke5100 UA-cam keeps deleting my comments so I'll try to keep this brief. I dress for myself and have been getting in better shape so no worries. Although I agree if too loose the fit then it will look more grandpa like as you stated but since I'm lean and toned it's not too bad. I'm in my 30's so I stopped wearing certain pieces and have upgraded since. I enjoy long sleeve linen shirts more than polos in all honesty but still own both. Thanks for the response. Classic fits most of the time look too baggy so I go for slim and it shows off my toned physique obviously.
I was just trying to find some shorts or something to wear at the office, chinos are working now but its just getting too hot. Finding that casual/formal line and being cool enough is proving difficult.
Hello My favorite channel! I have a question, I am getting a khaki/light tan suit tailored, could I wear the same color tie as the suit, but it is patterned? And if I have a tan tie, can a burgundy patterned pocket square or a red pocket square match with the tie?
Florida Man here. Do you have a style video for Florida / hot climates? Suits and ties are non-existent here for 9 months out of the year. Shorts are quite prevalent.
I said that too. I just got my third one. You can go to very casual up to a shirt and tie and it still looks good. The more I wear mine, the better I like it. No regrets of any kind. Very sturdy. It seems like they'll last for many years.
Being one of "those guys", I have a pair of cowboy boots (dress boots with a round toe, not square toe work boots) that I like to wear to concerts, rodeos, etc. so my question is how far up the formality scale could you wear these? Obviously, I'm not expecting to wear them to the office but could they be paired well with a more casual suit or a casual ensemble (like with a sport coat etc.) or do they not really fit in to 'classic' men's style and are best left for special events?
All that new denim is just an overhyped trend. Obviously, corduroy is out of season now, but there's little reason to wear corduroy jeans, anyway, unless there is some specific color that can't be found in a nicer pair. I really don't want to unpack this whole thing now.
Yes, I would rather wear a flannel shirt with cord jeans than denim ones some of the time, since that can be a bit more "earthy" than just typical indigo blue.
Couldn’t have been better timing! Also! Random request: Could you ask Nathan what brand he got his Army Green Jungle Jacket from? I’d really like to know! Thank you!

Chinos are just so comfy, especially on a hot day. I think they're less effort to wear than jeans even.

The guayabera is Mexican. They're still made in the Yucatan peninsula. The pockets were made to hold guayabas (guavas) hence its name Guayabera.
Video idea: What clothing hangers to use overall and for what type of clothing.

Henley, jeans, and sneakers up to a knit tie, dress shirt, and wool trousers.
Could you make videos covering the style in the Knives Out films? Excellent formal and casual styles in those films!
Kyle's classic casual style is so well put together 👏 great style from a great gentleman!
Don't forget the Harrington jacket.
Casual lightweight. Can wear a tie and dress shirt or t shirt and jeans.
I usually wear something in the middle. Nice sweater, dress shirt or flannel underneath.
Thank you very much do you have anything for the tropics something semi casual
I strive for a casual elegant look. Black jeans, a loosely buttoned shirt and I also have a waistcoat with matching back and an almost jean-like material. On colder days I use my beloved nice and long, black trench coat.
Some great advice on dressing casual. Thank you Kyle

Very informative and enjoyable! Thanks for providing.
Great Friday video as the weather warms up for everyone. Hope y'all have a good weekend!
Great episode ❗💯👍
1:50 What’s the brand of Raphael’s dinner jacket it looks awesome!
Safari or field jackets are an excellent choice, too.
Thank you. Good casual looks
Great video with a good variation of styles and staples. Good to see you guys back

I only wear t shirts as a base layer undergarment.😊
Some suede chukkas and a floppy brown fedora are always welcome too!

What is your opinion on Ashley Weston and her saying how men show dress?
3:03 if you send my boy to the nearest gym I'll pay for the monthly subscription.
In my opinion people have became lazy apparel wise . Most think flip flops , faded jeans and a punk rock T shirt is dressing up today.
In addition to dark blue jeans I have grey, green, and brown jeans.

Exquisite take.
I love how this guide shows us diverse body types
I enjoy a cashmere turtleneck for casual’ dress’
Thank you for this informative video’
Turtleneck with a corduroy sports jacket.
I love this channel ❤
I when I dress down I wear Polo short sleeve sweater with light weight wool pants with sip on Wing tip dress shoes in wine
Great video love this channel
What about derbies or quarter brogues as a casual dress shoe?
Both work. Light(er) to mid brown and burgundy will get you where you want to go. Suede is a great option. Although, more broguing will be more ideal.
I was just trying to find some shorts or something to wear at the office, chinos are working now but its just getting too hot.
Finding that casual/formal line and being cool enough is proving difficult.
Thank U 🫵🏼
Brother 👌🏼
Great info 👍🏼

Where is that striped shirt from?
Creo que definitivamente Kyle fue el indicado para abordar el tema.
Florida Man here. Do you have a style video for Florida / hot climates? Suits and ties are non-existent here for 9 months out of the year. Shorts are quite prevalent.
Try realy light weight and colour fabrics for suits
Awesome leather jacket , is it from Coach or Thursday ???
I really hate any casual shirt that has the two buttons on the neck
My go to causal outfit:
Suede Chelsea boots
Dark blue jeans
A v-neck t-shirt
And My light brown leather jack
Casual style recommendations for more humid climates?
This should help you out! www.gentlemansgazette.com/summer-hot-weather-outfits/?
He reminds me of Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince
no mention about the harrington jacket ?
You can learn more in our dedicated guide: www.gentlemansgazette.com/harrington-jacket-baracuta-g9-guide/?
I said that too.

I have a green one like Raphael wears on the Harrington video. That's the one I wear the most.
Never feel like you need to belong in a group.
Being one of "those guys", I have a pair of cowboy boots (dress boots with a round toe, not square toe work boots) that I like to wear to concerts, rodeos, etc. so my question is how far up the formality scale could you wear these? At some point you should cover history of clothing in the hot tropical country’s, former colonies. Pyth helmets, Bermuda shorts, etc.
Where is Raphael?
Alright guys, put the jokes away, Kyle the Style is here
Kyle's style is more of my style. He appeals more of the modern Gentleman to me and not the dandy/vintage/Gatsby type.
Polo shirts are basically underwear. They are sportswear and don't deserve to be treated as "dress" shirts.
Polo shirt with jacket is complete No-No. Hard stop.
If you just wear t-shirt under other shirt WHERE IT BELONGS you won't have to worry about "styling" correctly.
I found a BUNCH leather jackets that suit me.
Bomber Jackets...
Like these? www.gentlemansgazette.com/bomber-flight-jacket-guide/?

Could you ask Nathan what brand he got his Army Green Jungle Jacket from? I’d really like to know! Thank you!
Nordstrom 1901 house brand. On sale from years ago.

Kyle, I thought you'd just taken your shirt off mate 😁
Good morning from ny..as always impressive video....more important right now...to all mothers around the world..HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY..PEACE
More Kyle please
Casual style is just naff
chicken
A casual is other people's formal.
Preston looks like he needs to spend more time at McDonald’s or a Baskin Robbin’s store. He’s way too skinny. I hope he’s not sick.
