- Rjukan is a small town in Norway tucked in a narrow valley and it never gets direct sunlight in the winter. Mark Phillips reports on a project that is lighting up the town with the world's largest solar mirrors.
Ordinary mirror = modern technology
i think a poor country could do 5 times the number of mirrors they have there.
Post tenebras lux....the smile of the woman from the tourism board lights things up too.
I did this to illuminate my house many years ago... but shouldn't they have install magnifying mirrors instead normal mirrors? That way the light would disperse in the whole town and not just in one small area.
that would most likely cause the light to diffuse so much that it wouldnt really be recognizable.
is not the magnifying mirror to let the light straight through? here the purpose and land form required to reflect it down to the village.
I have been in Rjukan (i live in Norway tho)
And here I am, living in a perfectly lit city but work nightshifts so I never see the daylight
To: Brenda Williams. Because it's in the North Hemisphere, you can see it even in your house from September to March.
how do flat earthers explain this?
Easy how do oval or round Earthers explain this??
Shahyan008 Answering a question with a question. Typical flat earther, lemme explain. The ROUND Earth has seasonal rotations, far north there is more and more sunlight but closer and closer to the horizon, here I can imagine that in daytime the sun lingers around the horizon and that is why there is no direct sunlight
Also, let’s build solar mirrors above the whole of the UK and use them year round! There’s rarely a sunny day here!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I long for a cloudy day here in Texas. I would love to have rain more than once throughout the long summer.
Why not build the towns on the mountains?
probably too windy...
@@vinobodyYou are not wrong but also there is no road or anything to live up in the mountains
Wouldn't some of the rays cause fire?
Jorn Lande sang at this.
Super
why did that even build a town there in the first place!!!???
Maybe someone didn't like sun
Black Metal
vampires live there long time ago
search on Rjukan on google ;)
Because of the mountains, it is an excellent place to place a hydroelectric station.
Are you a Fallout Tactics general Barnaky narrator?
I use mirrors to heat indoors.................... watch my clip here............
So Mark, now that you are reporting on the effect of the light on the town , ( after your cliched comments about cloud cover earlier in the day) HOW DID IT GO? OH WAIT TOI LATE YOUR PIECE WAS 4 YEARS AGO
Like Viganella in Italy
esatto! viganella di borgomezzavalle nella bellissima valle antrona!
The Norge forget at all times that they have copied the idea from a small village in Italy called Viganella...
and they didn't drop a penny to pay for copyright.
They took the idea from Italy.
no they took it from jakndaxter
No they took it from "common sense"
He does not sound thrilled
Godli experens
Dang there is no diversity. Crap how will my Democrat leader win any election there??
By cheating.
@@MaxPowers You might want to research Trump and Cambridge Analytics if you want to look at corruption.
Nordic countries are very democratic socialist countries, You do understand why The USA is a diverse country yeah? The native American people were not white people
Lmao. The biggest political faction in Norway is social democratic. That the equivalent of your Democrat party
