Dat: TURBODISTORTION Gag won't get old😂
I was asking the same by myself, should I set the Wah before or behind the Distortion🤔

@@frusciantegeartone Forget Morphin Time, just get TURBO TIME😂I got a Vox Wah V847 which is close to the Ibanez but without a boost and I got an Treble Booster, it's a good wah but the Ibanez WH-10 is perfect to me. I had once used in my studying time between 2014-2017 and I love it to death but the other students colleges got some issues with that wah. Maybe I buy V2 or the new one. Could you tell me the differences between V2 and V3 of the Ibanez Wah?🙂

@@FarmerSlideJoeBob yes I’ve heard Dave Simpson speak about his favorite “non Frusciante” wah and the vox is what he prefers. It depends on which vox you have though, apparently the silver top is the one you want, because the newer model has the volume boost.
The difference between the v2 and v3 is mainly that the v3 has a switch for buffered or true bypass signal.
Big problem with the v3 is that it boosts your signal ALOT. I had the original and sold it. Then I bought the v3 withe Wilson Effects mod where they take the true/buffered bypass switch and replace it with a volume knob. It’s perfect now. Since the boss goes before the wah anyway (in Frusciante style), you don’t need the buffer in the wah. The sweep is very similar. It’s built sturdier than the v2, since it’s a metal casing now instead of plastic.
If I were you, I’d buy from Kevin Wilson and the mod he does to the v3. I spent a year researching and trial/error. Made the right decision with Wilson effects. Spend a little more and get ALOT more control.

I use a Morley wah power boost then after I put an TS9, I'll buy a ds-2 this week. I think I'll put it before the wah to get the 'frusciante's' tone wdyt?

I am recently getting into the world of pedals so this will be a silly question. When you say "after the DS2", do you mean that the guitar signal goes, first, to the DS 2 TURBO DISTORTIONNNN, then to the wah, and finally to the amp? I mean, the order to plug the cables haha.

    • @frusciantegeartone

Yes guitar into TURBO DISTORTIONNN into Wah into amp.
Now if you also have a fuzz, you may have to play around with where it goes. My fuzz sounded best after ds2, when most people claim fuzz is always first in the signal. But it depends on the fuzz circuitry. That’s where you can go down a rabbit 🕳️. But yea just use your ears.
My entire pedalboard is: tuner-ds2-fuzz-wah-phaser-chorus-vibrato-delay-fm4-boost pedal-amp. Some use fm4 at or near beginning since it has auto wah type effects. But I like mine after delay and how delay shapes it first. Let me know if you have any other questions or just anything. I love this community! ✌️ 😎

And the micro amp whats is a better position before or after ds2?

  • @ivanm9186

I see you modded your V3. Man... I've done research all over the internet, but came to the same decision... Some say you can use it with the tube amp set on the edge of a breakup... hell to, the volume jump is still these. Unless the amount of compression is enough... but with that compression it's kinda hard to play something cleanish...

Would this be the same deal with a Dunlop Crybaby? You mention yours is unbuffered and so is that wah (I think!?😂)

    • @frusciantegeartone
      @frusciantegeartone  7 місяців тому

It would be the same deal. Wah always after ds2.
As far as the buffer goes, I don’t think it matters. The original wh10v3 had a true bypass/buffered bypass switch and I couldn’t tell a difference. Probably because the ds2 has a decent buffer and they are right next to each other in signal. But if you ran wah into the ds2 (which is buffered) the wah may not be as clear as it would be after ds2, since the ds2 would bring clarity to the wah. Hope that makes sense

I have a crybaby wah and I've noticed that it sounds a lot worse after the distortion than before. It loses a lot of the distorted sound when you're at full heel or full toe on the wah.

    • @frusciantegeartone

That’s kind of the point for that white noise on the highs and lows. But could also be that you aren’t using a ds2, which does make a difference in my experience with distortions. The ds2 cranked up gets a white noise click on the pick attacks that only frusciante has made famous.
Look up Dave Simpson here on UA-cam and see what he says about wah after ds2. He makes alot of sense and possibly see if he has done the same with a crybaby. Worth a try.

same goes fox the VOX pedals... cause they don't have a built-in amp. What basically happens is wah wah acting like a simple filter, sucking all the tone

I have an old Zoom G3x and it happens too, i use a Vox wah simulation, the DryMX option in the Wahs solve this problem for me
