This is the most diverse band I know of, you could watch a song and think they were a punk band, a nu-metal band, a soft ballad band, a opera-deathcore hybrid band, a jrock band, a jazz-death band, many other things and many combinations. Kyo (vocalist) can sing any style (and then some that he made up lol). I'm going to suggest Repetition of Hatred performed live with subtitles here: ua-cam.com/video/KGdbI5EwzCk/v-deo.html Or Ash remake performed live with subtitles here: ua-cam.com/video/2bxAVtGvvZo/v-deo.html These songs aren't massively different from each other but they're just very cool to me. If you want to see diversity then you can check out Yokan, Different Sense, Berry, Otogi - it's just crazy that they're all from the same band.
I think "sounds like Opeth" can only ever be a compliment 😄 Although I have to say these guys are a lot more diverse then Opeth taking both bands entire catalogue into account. It's a tiny bit sad, that you picked the restricted video version but it's a song reaction above all and for that it's perfectly ok that you did. It's a trap that a lot of reactors fall into. I would always recommend the live versions as I believe that this band is a live band first and foremost. They basically create songs to tour with and then these songs gain a life of their own on stage. There aren't two performances that are the same and it's just a very emotional thing to experience every time. A song can have you dance and feel happy one night and bring you to tears the next. It's a real rollercoaster with Dir en grey :) I would be really happy to see another reaction and I'll leave a sub (also to check out some of your other reactions). Songs I would recommend to check out next are "Gaika, chinmoku ga nemuru koro" and "Bottom of the Death Valley - 2013 remake". Here are links to my favourite live versions of these two songs on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/wIgsLedfEWM/v-deo.html ("Gaika..." with eng. sub) ua-cam.com/video/pxQIhnQViEI/v-deo.html ("Bottom of the Death Valley" no eng. subs here. This is the best version, period. But if you prefer a version with subtitles you can find a newer performance of the song on Kaya's channel. It's still good!)
Dir En Grey is definitely a live band. If you're going react more kaya channel uploads their live with English subtitles. The singer has great range and mostly he's self taught.(they are amost always better live) Try kaishun studio version for a more rock-opera style Or different sense(live not studio version as video is basically tentacle pon) for a more heavy song with more growls
The live version of this song is incredible. They are so good.

First: Thank you very much, Gabriella 😊
Second: You’re right. Very interesting mix and structure. Worth several listenings 🤘❤️👍
How you can check the love version
I almost didn't stick with it but I did and it got better.
I'm not sure I'd listen on a regular basis, but time will tell.
Yeah, it changed after the first half. The growling came unexpected. Interesting song structure though 🤘❤️👍
