Rick,next time you're over this way again try the other championship qualifier course S&A (Southport and Aisdale) Liverpool Road,Ainsdale it's a must play if you like Formby Golf Club....
I used to Green keep on this course and the ladies many moons ago and the ladies course is well worth playing especially the short par 3s they say that its even harder than the mens course on some holes,I've played both as it's my local course here in Formby.

Potter is so funny, the only decent shot he hit was a mishit on the par 3. I can see why he doesn't use a GPS, it would struggle to find him in some of the places he ends up in.

I've just checked my birth certificate, i can confirm that i'm not Jordan Spieth. I can also confirm that i don't act like i'm a wannabe pro, or try to have the mannerisms of one or try to dress like one. I don't throw grass in the air, i don't waste time by using a laser from just 50ft and use aim point express from 6ft lol.
He's not being a wannabe tour pro, he is just trying to play golf as well as he can and give himself a chance to shoot a good score. He is wearing a pair of trousers and a polo shirt, he is playing golf, what do you expect him to wear? A dressing gown and slippers! He is throwing grass in the air to judge the wind - makes sense to me (and most other people who play golf).
Paddy, you sound as deluded as him if you honestly think that by him throwing grass into the air it's going to make any difference whatsoever to the sort of shots he hits other than waste time and look like a right div doing it. Half the time the trees are sheltering the true wind speed anyway so it's pointless, the top of the trees and the flag will give you enough info of wind direction and strength. So at the level he plays at which lets be honest isn't great, do you really think he needs to go to the expense of being dressed head to to in J Lindeberg gear which isn't cheap ? I'm not just on about in a course blog, he turns up like that when he's just doing a club review at the range. He's got wannabe written all over him, his mannerisms are so funny to watch.

You need some sort of natural ability to get to a single figure handicap, coaching alone won't get you there. If i was Potter i'd give up the golf and go back to running the Phoenix Club.
Do we honestly know just often he gets out to practice and play? All the lessons in the world won't do a whole lot unless you put a lot of time in to practicing the new techniques.
