    Heyyy…it’s Annie from New Brunswick Canada…I just had my LBSO 6 days ago on June 14,2023. I’ve been in pain ever since. Four days after surgery I pooped but it was Hell going through it but I knew I had to do it. I had to wait 17 months for this surgery. What led up to this was that between 1992-2001, I bled out for 24/7…I was so scared I didn’t tell anyone, not even my mom. At one point, I thought I had vonWillebrandt’s disease. I haven’t noticed any blood or discharge after my LBSO.

      Maxine Ting thank you so much for your comment. Pls feel free to msg me with any questions. Since I had my ovaries removed besides hot flashes here and there and mood swings I am doing well. Since I'm 31 - I decided against taking HRT and I'm very happy with that decision. I also underwent a mastectomy last week. I will update you soon!

      I'm 32 and am brca2 positive as well. I had mastectomy 2014 and am having ovaries removed along with hysterectomy due to cervical precancerous cells in 6 weeks. I also had thyroid cancer in 2014. I'm having a hard time deciding on hrt. What helped you all make these decisions.

      @@angiemomoffour6486 But does that not mean you now have to suffer through menopausal symptoms at a young age and that you will age faster, bone wise and stuff. I have decided against testing and against any preventative surgery. I go by whatever nature has in store for me and deal with things as they come. I purposely have only had one son. And my chances of me not becoming very sick or dying before he is 18 is low, so other than that I don't care about anything

    MSKCC in Manhattan is phenomenal! Great surgeons and nurses. They are so nurturing emotionally and medically. How are you feeling now? Were the menopausal symptoms as bad as you thought?

    I would never do this. I do not want the emotional problems associated with it. I would rather physically suffer then enmotionally. If I get a deadly disease I will jut accept it. The way I see it, if a a disease happens and I suffer, thaqt is acceptable because it just happens, whereas surgery and its consequences is a pain which is artificially done to you. My main goal in life is to avoid artificial pain. Longevity is not my main goal. Each person has their own goals. And that is fine.

    Just had my ovaries an tubes removed Monday due to endo. Had a cyst the size of a grapefruit in one of my tubes. It ended up being a 5 hour surgery an I'm still healing. Was the hardest thing I've ever gone through! I'm not going to take any hormones so I'm a little nervous as to what my body will do. Do you take hormones or anything?

      Hi. It is extremely painful the first few days but does get better over time- make sure to rest and stay hydrated and take your pain killers! I had my surgery Aug 23rd. I have had many hot flashes, I am always moody but for the most part I'm doing ok and I am not taking HRT. I seem to be doing ok without them. Wishing you a speedy recovery- pls msg me if I can help with anything? Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

      Angie Mom of Four Thank you so much for getting back to me. Today is the first day I didn't take any pain pills, just ibuprofen. I thought I should stop taking the pain pills cause I haven't had a bowel movement yet. The worst thing is my throat an the gas from surgery left in me. Gas is almost gone though but my throat is still itching.

      rainbow4w try walking at a slow pace. I walked 20 mins in the am- 20 mins in the afternoon and 20 mins in the evening once I could tolerate the pain- it helped relive a lot of my gas pains. Make sure to take colace (stool softner) and miralax regularly, and lots of fluids to help with the constipation. I promise it gets better! You got this!!

      Angie Mom of Four Thank you so much for the advice. I'm going to start taking Black Cohosh an fish oil hoping it helps with any menopause I might have. I'm so scared about bone loss, hair loss an such. Thank you so much for posting this video, it helps a lot.

    You believe all those surgical menopause symptoms manifest themselves already 7 days post op ??!!……………..NOT. I guess, now 6 yrs post op you learned what menopause means😫

    I have a question I'm a bit confused about an was wondering if you knew? My doctor removed both tubes an ovaries except he left one small piece of healthy ovary tissue to help me ease into menopause easier. I still have my uterus. I won't be taking any hormone cause I have endometriosis. My question is will I still have a period?

    • @angiemomoffour6486
      @angiemomoffour6486  6 років тому +3

      rainbow4w I'm actually not sure! I would be curious to know as well. Since I had both ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed I do not get a period! I hope you are feeling better!

      Angie Mom of Four I do feel better thank you, just a little tight feeling in the stomach. I have a post op appointment on Friday. I'll let you know what my doctor says about the periods.

    • @RheaTempleton
      @RheaTempleton 6 років тому

      Angie Mom of Four OK so I just got back from my post op. Asked about my period an he said I shouldn't get a period cause I no longer produce female hormones. My uterus will begin to shrink....He actually took both my ovaries an tubes cause the endo was so bad. The tissue that was left was scar tissue he couldn't remove.

    • @user-yh3fy8rs4r
      @user-yh3fy8rs4r 5 років тому

      If you have your uterus you might have a period, but lighter. If you dont have it, then no.. Even with a uterus and ovaries, but no tubes - you can have a lil period because of the ovaries. They still produce some hormones.. No ovaries/uterus = no periods
