Have you been reading Zdarsky’s Batman? 🦇🦇🦇

I gave up, I enjoyed the Knight, but I don't think I enjoyed a single Batman issue.

Yeah I Loved the Knight, that’s in the modern Batman classics for me.
I did enjoy Failsafe quite a bit but I know it wasn’t for everyone 🦇

Hello Dominick, have you done a review on Harleen graphic novel? It's by Stjepan Sejic. I'm reading this now. Let me know what your thoughts are.

15:10 I think the reasons why people doesn't like zdarsky's run from what i understand are because:
    1) He made a grand scale batman story which is an instant turn off for fans which i personally don't understand why they all are just so obsessed with grounded batman stories, didn't we have so much of them in the past with movies like dark knight trilogy and robert pattinson's batman already? also there are still a whole lot of grounded batman comics anyway, there is nothing wrong with a grand scale batman story once in a while.
    2) Zdarsky introduced many wild concepts in his run, which I won't spoil for you. However, these ideas don't resonate well with fans, as they tend to prefer what I mentioned earlier a batman when he is solving crimes with gordon like a detective which i like too but why not do something different and bold which was zdarsky's goal from the beginning i think, he was interested in this aspect of batman from the interviews i have seen of him, also whatever batman did in this run wasn't anything inconsistent he was always a jack of all trades type of a guy and has paranoia so him having all these failsafes and protocols for all the situations is very in line with his character.
    3) zdarsky did something with a character and people felt that what he did was unnecessary , personally i didn't felt it that way although i understand where they are coming from.
    4) People are just extreme these days, either something is completely trash or it's a masterpiece there is no middle ground to them anymore, so i suggest don't listen to fans in my opinion.
    5) Also final point yeah gotham war arc was probably the biggest thing which people hated about his run although tini howard is more responsible for that arc not zdarsky but i think it's partially his fault too he shouldn't have collaborated with her, i think the two chapters of GW within main batman run were fine but other than that it's bad they tried to portray batman as bad in the arc even though he really wasn't and it kinda ruined batfamily and selina for me and made me hate them a lot, other than that i have no issue with his run it was solid, don't listen to people and enjoy the upcoming arcs.

@@Maab_835 I really appreciate the time you took to write this out! Well-reasoned.
I am looking forward to catching up on this run / finishing it out myself, when able. I almost always enjoy Zdarsky’s stuff.

@TheComicBookReport No problem. I liked the way you review stuff, you give positive vibes and I appreciate fans like you.
I liked zdarsky's batman the knight mini series and his main batman run too.
I think you should catch up as there is only one chapter left in zdarsky's run, next month his run will end and then hush 2 will begin with loeb and lee.

@@TheComicBookReport speaking of the knight, what are your thoughts on zdarsky including ras al ghul as bruce mentor in the end ? I saw a lot of people were upset of this as they didn't liked it they said bruce shouldn't have met ras al ghul so early, also do you think we will get another take on his training journey in the future as I believe there were many mentors and places which were not explored in zdarsky's run, like they mentioned mexico and metropolis but we didn't know what bruce learnt there.

I liked this story arc and Jiminez is an all-star artist for being able to draw so amazingly in such a variety of styles in the multiverse issue.
Sadly, Gotham War made me drop off. I’ve heard the series has rebounded since but Gotham War’s premise was just awful, IMO.

This was awful, the beginning of the downfall of chip’s run, Failsafe was great, but this is awful and the next one is Gotham war 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Your comments are definitely a consistent piece of feedback I heard about this run. I think because of that I lowered the bar of
Expectation a lot for this volume and I found myself walking away still enjoying bits of it. Not my favorite and I much preferred Failsafe, but I still had fun. I was surprised by the multiverse jumping scene toward the end 👏🦇

@@George_17-28Which artist confirmed it? In Batman: The Imposter, Sorrentino made Bruce look almost exactly like Robert Pattison. It’s entirely possible he just heavily used Batfleck as a reference.
